    My shoulder pain went away when I went full carnivore. Also since I had a foot of my colon removed after Covid my bowels now function beautifully without fiber and no more small bowel obstruction. No more hangry, good weight maintenance with out feeling deprived. My mood is stable and good and at 74 I’m still working and loving it.

    I was raised on grains and carbs, got addicted and carried the habit throughout my life. I was diagnosed with NA fatty liver disease and liver cysts by age of 50, and pretty sure the problem started at my 30s. Year ago I stopped consuming all grains, and went a "dirty" carnivore, and what an improvement. I had a CT scan for unrelated issues, and report showed one cyst, and no mention of fatty liver, twice.
    GRAINS ARE DANGEROUS.

    I believe his term "danger" is more accurate than you suggest. People in my family have been dying of type II, regularly, and their "care" from medicine is to shoot insulin. We are at the precipice and if we don't change, we'll go that same direction. It is an emergency situation.

    When it comes to fruit juice, just think about how many pieces of fruit it took to get that juice. Would you eat 5 to 8 oranges in one sitting? More than likely not.

    I stopped eating refined carbs and sugar about 7 months ago. My anxiety levels decreased. My sleep began to improve. My pain levels dropped significantly. My skin began to improve. My bloodwork was back into healthy range. A few days ago I ate bread and it was horrible. I felt fine at first but it was like caffeine, I couldn’t get to sleep that night until past 2 in the morning. I’m considering carnivore next.

    1:26 1:29 I love Dr Westman he has saved lives over and over again at Duke University however he's dealing with people that are four five six hundred pounds that have no control and are completely addicted to certain foods I understand why he needs a nuanced to approach to get these people on the right track. In this instance I lean towards Dr Ekberg a little bit. First of all I do believe alcohol does get converted to sugar in your body. Having seen the epidemic proportions of obesity in my community here in Hawaii and amongst people that I know personally I agree in the strong wording of some of these topics as dangerous.... I don't think you can tell an addict that it's okay to have a little sugar the same way you wouldn't tell a heroin addict he can have a little heroin I guess artificial sweeteners are kind of the methadone of the drug like plant Foods I don't think Dr eckberg necessarily is seeking more money but more clicks is a way of helping more people and I believe the discipline approach is the only way to seriously help people in this way I have kept myself on the straight and narrow by labeling certain foods dangerous myself people have to look at themselves and reference to the words if everything is relative and say look in my condition eating refined grains is absolutely dangerous. In this regard I agree with Dr EK Bruce assessments

      I agree. I don’t like it when Westman does these videos debunking people who are sharing basically the same diet and lifestyle as Dr. Westman. The same was done with Dr. Berg and it’s not very becoming. Is one’s way of using certain terminology that much of a big deal. If these foods cause disease, I consider it to be dangerous as well.

    • @chereserhetta7149
      @chereserhetta7149 3 години тому +1

      @@JGirl.7 I mean, seriously. The doc even admitted that some people need to have it explained to them in this way, to get it through their heads. I consider it dangerous (in the long run) as well, but a little exaggeration to light a fire under people’s butts and get them on the right track is not just harmless, but necessary. I don’t consider the way in which Dr. Ekberg titled his video to be fear-mongery or click-baity at all. The pearl clutching over word choice is 100% unnecessary.

    • @Trahloc
      @Trahloc Годину тому

      @@chereserhetta7149 the problem with "a little exaggeration" is that while you may get those who need lies to listen. Others will lose trust when you're dishonest. We had years of people telling us things were far more dangerous than they were, some of us are hyper sensitive to being lied to which is exactly why we gravitate towards Dr Westman.

    In 2023 during the winter I was eating crumpets. I would always have a soft poached egg on my crumpet. And I would have at least 2 - 4 a day. Within 4- 6 wks I lost all use of my right knee. I had to buy a walking stick. This happened over a 4 MTH period. When I clued in it was the crumpets and I stopped eating them I had more mobility but there was still pain in my knee. In the last 3wks I came down with some type of cold. (Not COVID I tested for 5 days in a row). I was bed bound for 2 wks the 3 wk I did Dr Bozs sardine fast. (72hrs only sardines). During the fast I got my knee back. Good as new. Last year I didn't suffer any pain or illness all year.
    I also didn't eat any grains all year.
    Also at the beginning of 2023 I went full carnivore for 3 mths.

    Is the new diabetic society or any of the low car docs planning on appearing at the HHS to comment on the 2025 dietary guidelines and should we as the public send in our success stories on keto or is HHS and FDA a lost cause entirely. Thanks for everything that you do. You've changed my life.

    • @XaqNautilus
      @XaqNautilus 9 годин тому +6

      Unless Trump/RFK step in with executive change you can rest assured that the dietary guidelines will stay under the firm thumb of the food industry, thanks to lobbying. Yes the decision-makers might be moved by speeches but they still have to vote the way they've been told (paid) to vote. We've already seen this play out before.

    I like both this channel and Dr. Ekberg. IMO people would be wise to watch quite of few videos from all sorts of sources and not take anything as "the gospel". Anyway, for myself I took a hard look at my "weakness" and eliminated alcohol and added sugar/sugar drinks. I used to be pretty strict Keto but I retired to Thailand from the US and I opened up my diet some to enjoy the local food. Do the best you can rings true to me, and it was pretty easy to eliminate and justify demonizing alcohol and sugar and include a limited amount of noodles and rice in my diet. Cheers.

    Maybe we don’t have proper randomised controlled studies about sugary drinks, but aren’t we more certain about spikes in blood sugar, causing spikes in insulin, and harm? If so, then why can’t we be just as certain about the harms of sugary drinks? Wearing a CGM will help an individual understand the individual harm they are exposed to

    I appreciate W's relaxed approach to keto that's limited by where you are in achieving your goals & by the limits of your self-control w certain "red light" foods (as we used to call them in WW). It is unfortunate that spirits are calorie laden, so careful out there friends🥂. Remember it's going to take more than giving up carbs to lose weight & it ain't going to be easy. You have to be hungry to not-satisfied. Just the way it is. There is no magical loss of appetite. A diet is a diet is a diet. Best luck to y'all🍀
