    Excellent video. The required steps are clear, concise, and informative. The helpful hints like old pad + c-clamp + crack the master cylinder are key effort & time savers for folks who are trying this for the first time. There are many incomplete and/or useless how-to videos out there, but this is definitely not one of them. Well done.

    Nice thorough job - one of the best I've seen, even giving socket sizes. One suggestion - hanger or zip tie to hold your caliper or bracket securely out of the way when you run out of hands. Having the caliper slip off its perch on the hub or rotor & yanking on the brake line could ruin your day, or worse, imperceptibly damaging the line & risking a failure down the road. Quick and cheap insurance.

    The only thing you missed to put was the pounds of force for the wheel tighten (110 lbs btw)

    It is best to open bleeder valve to push the pistons back in. That way you are not pushing contaminated brake fluid back into the master cylinder. Then top off with fresh fluid.

    This is a great video.. thank you. Used this video for my 2010 challenger front brakes..
    I also had to change one of the glide pin rubber boots.. that was interesting.... prying it out with flat head and then pressure fit the new one in with a socket and C clamp

    Good video - the 21mm bolts on my 2015 Challenger were the hardest bolts to remove. I had to use a breaker bar. Took me 45-50 minutes per side. They never got loose enough to use a 1/2 in ratchet on. I hit them with a 1200 LB air gun and they didn't budge. I needed the breaker bar for every turn.

    Great video! Thorough and well-paced. I’ve done brakes many times but first time on my 2016 RT. Great video to watch and listen to before I tackle the job. Hats off to your Assistant too!

    Awesome video. Very detailed. Doing this on my daughters car tomorrow. Serious question though - noticed you greased the ends of the pads that touch the hardware then greased inside the caliper. Why not just grease the ends and the back of the pad before installing? I’ve always just greased the back of the pad instead of the inside of the caliper. Just curious why you do it that way. Maybe I’ve been doing it wrong this whole time! Ha!

    Am I the only one that opens the bleeders to push the piston in. You can actually push them in by hand when that pressure is gone and it gets rid of that brake fluid that is constantly heated in the caliper.

      @@JacobJohnson812 Really? So "Hitting it with the breaker bar" is good enough? ''As tight as you can with 3/8 ratchet" is good enough too? Mount bracket bolts are 140 ft. lbs. There's no way you got even close to that. Caliper bolts are 44 ft. lbs. Might be close on that one. But I bet those other bolts loosened up. By a torque wrench they aren't very expensive jeez.

    • @JacobJohnson812
      @JacobJohnson812  3 роки тому

      @@bbigjohnson069 they actually did loosen up and everyone in the car is no longer with us, including the worlds last male white rhinoceros, I thought my buddy who tightened the bolts would be strong enough since he was a three time olympic gold horse masterbator. I guess it was a bad judgement call.
