Its clear from this collection who had the design talent in the defunct pair of Piccioli and Chiuri. The clothes were spare and simple but had impact. This is how you design gorgeous clothes without necessarily having to reinvent the wheel. Everyone who's been harping on Valentino to evolve their aesthetic can shut the hell up now. There's a distinct youthfulness and freshness in this collection that eluded the house since the pair took over. Its definitely the most Valentino collection Pierpaolo has done and absolutely the most cosmopolitan. The looks themselves definitely left an impression, but I think the bags were the star of this show.
Pierpaolo continues to make Maria Grazia look like a design intern for Isabel Marant lol... this collection is just pure beauty and joy that the standing ovation in the end felt genuine... even better than the couture show

Now I understand - who was and is responsible for Valentino's success. Pierpaolo. He plays with forms, volumes, textures, cuts and ideas. Maria Grazia played with moons, stars and sequins on the skirts only.

This was such a celebration of life, of elegance, and of glamour without being at all prosaic or cliché in the slightest sense!! It was couture in a ready to wear stance I just can't think of where to begin with this collection😍😍 but now we know who the real talent of the valentino duo was😉😉😉

I'm so in love with this collection. I love the sporty touch and the colour palette so bad and i 'm obsessed with the little waist bag.
It's very clear how every detail it's deeply studied...studs, sequins, fabrics, everything is so harmonious.
I want every piece of this season in my closet and it means that i'm willing to spend over 2.000 euros for a jacket, so Pierpaolo did a really good job. Bravo :D

Beautiful, gorgeous designs, and the Grace Jones soundtrack lifted my heart. This is what a runway show is supposed to look like and sound like (delightful soundtrack). One criticism, with this whimsical and beautiful collection and music, the models could have worn a Mona Lisa smile, or even a big wide grin. That's the only thing that was missing.

Beautiful collections. It’s elegantly modern and surprisingly fun. The exact opposite of Dior. Very optimistic and stylish. Poor Elie Saab, he can’t do a single dress without the help of crystals.

Massive Valentino fan here, adored the last few seasons especially... this seems very different. But not at all bad. I think some of the long dresses will be popular, as will the bags and shoes. A few pieces I felt lost in all the folds and lines, and didn't like them much, but others I really enjoyed the flow of the material... the use of colour was fabulous. Not my favourite collection though. ⚘🌹

Charlie The reason why they allow cellphones is so that the show can publicity on social media.
Susie Menkes used to take a small laptop in the late 80s early 90s, prior to that,some would make sketches, but if someone sketched in too detailed a way they would be called out and banned from future shows, the industry is very very different now.
+Rishon Hislop But do they need SO many people taking photos/videos of the same things and posting the exact same images on social media over and over again? We don't need everyone and their plumber to be holding their stupid photos looking at the clothes through their dumb phones while the models are RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. Some are even worse...they are just looking at their phones with their heads down most of the show and only glancing up once or twice to look quickly at a model and then back down to whatever they're looking at on their phone. I mean, why even bother being there when you aren't even going to pay attention. There are others dying to watch a show just once in real life and then there are these douches with their phones.

MISSING VALENTINO...
Not feeling this at all. The clothes looked sloppy to me...even if it is RTW.....I didn't feel any grace, elegance, or "air" about the designs that made me dream or fantasize or even WANT the clothes. And most of the models looked bored, most walking as if they are taking out the garbage, or going to the corner bodega. I am really not liking the "spirit" of fashion presentation these days......and I really don't know what all the cheering was about. Maybe it was just shade toward Maria? Boring collection.

*The song choice is absolutely terrible* , it doesn’t work well with anything, this whole thing fell flat for just because the song didn’t compliment the runway and the speed of the model’s walks.
I don't like it. Maybe my expectations are too high. The outfits are fluid and a lot of pink, more for young waifs. Where's the glamour, the beading, sequined designs contouring feminine shapes? I'll look fat in these designs. Sorry but they're both awful designers singly.

The only thing it seemed remind me Valentino it's the ruffles and thats it. Don't like at all this drastic changes in a big and traditional maison like Valentino. Everything looks so fake and forced just for make money, and the most important it's forgotten... The passion for fashion.
i feels like a youny couple and war has separated them apart, but they never give up, and them they went to see each other in amazon forest, with all the animals willing to be their guard and witness, they run, they laugh, and it turns out she used to be fom the royal family. it ends under the very modern setting and lily blossom, but everything remians continue and back to vague again. They look at the sky and wonders if they WILL ever forever be together....she picks up a cherry and I DONT LIKE THIS SEASON. NOT VERY CONSISTENT. NO FAIRY TALES, LOOKS SAD A LITTLE BIT...

Marcos Carvalho you are 100% correct. I’ve been working in luxury for years. They are keeping a lot of the stores in my city alive.
They are not Chinese the suits are all from Japanese department stores who buy tons of Valentino.
