- After seeing lots of people online discovering that you have to clean your washer filter, I thought I’d give it a try. I’ve had this washer for over two years and have never cleaned it. It’s pretty easy to do - check it out!

Thank you, this helped so much. My Mom clogged up the filter with a rubber backed bath rug. What a mess! The instruction manuel led me to UA-cam and a search for debris filter led me to your video. Simple and easy to follow.
Best video I watched when looking at how to get that filter out and clean it. Thanks 😋👏🏼
Thanks for sharing this information, I was trying to figure that out.
For all of the 14,000 people that use this video and was enlightened like me please give this beautiful lady a thumbs up. Hit that like button ⚡⚡⚡
I just used your video step by step to drain my washing machine and it was horribly stanky thank you so much...
Shut up fool!
Çvvçyffff 😢😢 s
Thanks alot from Australia your a big help and a legend
Thank you
I can't get the filter off.
thanks
I have a top loader samsung washing machine. If anyone knows where the debris filter is located please let me know! Thank you!
After I drained mine, the water won’t flow when I started my load, Any advice? Thanks
VERY helpful video. Can't unscrew my filter either, but I'm not giving up.
I REALLY appreciate the tip on unplugging the washer. Never thought of that.
Small flat screw driver in between the taps. .. it's annoying but works .. Probably the only part made in America no less.
@@1993gringoloco My comment was written a year ago and I never was able to open and clean the filter of my Samsung front loader. The dryer died recently and wasn't worth repairing as I couldn't find a service person for a Samsung. I had gotten my money's worth out of the two eleven year old appliances and replaced them with a Whirlpool front loader washer and dryer. A feature on the machine tells me when to run the "Clean Washer" cycle. I have a cat and only time will tell if I'll have a Whirlpool filter problem in the future.🤞 But for now, I'm very satisfied. 👍
Try pushing in and turning. Then pulling really hard.
It’s not necessary to unplug the machine. You’re not touching or replacing anything electrical.
Hey is there anything that needs to be done to remove the filter I keep seeing people just twist it out yet when I do it it does the pill bottle thing
Push the filter in while twisting the filter counter clockwise. Similar to when you open a medicine bottle.
@@blancamorales8992 yeah tried that it didnt work. had to use pliers to get it to finally engage
be aware that quite a bit of water can come out as you remove the strainer cap
If only I could get my screen unscrewed.
I can't get my filter off, it won't budge! Any suggestions?
The actual filter part or the cover/door? My filter twisted off really easily. Make sure you’re twisting left and maybe try pliers? Maybe it was screwed on too tight. Also press in while you turn it
I pushed in on one of the taps with my thumb and it worked. The ones on the cap could be worn.
Mine is stuck too! Haha
Mine is stuck as well
I kept turning and turning and nothing. It was hurting my knuckles. I then used a microfiber towel to turn and pushed in and that seemed to do the trick.
I try to take out the filter but nothing happens
Hmmm not sure why. You have the same washer? Do you have the manual?
Look for tabs just behind and to side of turning handle. Push one of the tabs (I used a screw driver to push) WHILE turning counter-clockwise). After a turn or so, you can stop pushing on tab and finish removing filter. WHY? Do not know. I tried pushing on handle while removing but it still just "clicked". Pushed on tab while turning and It didn't "click".... Hope this helps.
PS: don't know what some are washing, but after YEARS (like 7) of NOT cleaning this filter (did not know it was there. Read the manual, Jeff!!!!), my filter was hardly dirty. LOL. Cleaned what little was there though. Task down......next. LOL
LOL you must be very clean! A lot of what was in there was dog hair! I have 2 dogs that shed A LOT
Use a napkin to remove any crap from your filter hole
Gross! You need to clean your filter waaaaay more often! I'm sure your machines are needing a deep cleaning too. Do it before you have to shovel out another 5 g's😢
