That’s the nicest dollhouse mattress I've ever seen! I love the way you built it first, then built the bed around it. I also liked the template technique you used for the bed. That looked so much easier.🤗 When you started distressing the mattress, I was yelling “no, it’s too pretty”.😁

I love this as is AND can see so much potential.
I love the quilted look and the advice on fabrics to use for more dated mattresses, though a modern version one might have white on white floral. Either way you gave such inspiration.
As an uncle fester bed, for extra distressed look, I might have added a tear in your hard work to let the stuffing out and used a pen's spring or similarly sized coil for a popped spring.
Thank you so much for your hard work and for sharing.

Thank you for the mattress tutorial (and real measurements!) I generally have to divide full sized measurements by 11.25 for the scale I most commonly use but I have smaller scale as well. Not having to guess sizes or even hunt down full sized measurements is really nice. Thank you!

Feeling fed up I decided to find something on UA-cam that would lift my spirit and yay I found 1 video of yours that I missed. Its ideal you lift me up and I needed ideas for a mattress added bonus.
Got a ? What is quilt matting please ? I also know a way they made pocket quilts you might like to use at some point or anyone else. They used these in wartime etc .
You make a square ⬛ pocket sew up 3 sides turn inside out stuff it. Make enough to cover a single or double quilt/duvet once filled stitch them together and add a backing and you have yourself a pocket quilt look them up you will get the idea better with pictures. Thanks for cheering me up hun xxxx

I think he should have his pillow & bedding traipsed across the floor & barely on the edge of the bed, like he's more comfy on the floor than on a soft mattress. He could even have a mini bed of nails on a trundle under his bed, or a roll-up yoga mat but with nails sticking out. The bed suits his personality, but maybe it needs a wonky leg because he's a bit unstable (I'm hilarious). You know you could have flipped the box over when the mattress didn't fit & just made it a slat-base instead.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  6 років тому +1

Ha! I like the idea of it looking like he was sleeping on the floor. And I agree the bed probably does need a bit more "destruction" and a leg would be a great place for it. And the idea of a nail yoga mat is just hilarious and I love it... how 2000's of Fester😂 Thanks Joanne!!💕

I have a playlist marked 'super simple minis' which are some quick projects to just get started in making minis. Also trying out the Cardboard house furniture is a good way to start because the materials are easy to find and if you don't like what you made it can go in the recycle ;) I hope that helps!

He needs a couple of dirty stained blankets and a old stained feather pillow, you know the kind, has no real support now and it kind of gets pushed into a messy ball to sleep on. The pillow could be just shoved into the upper corner of the bed and the blankets could be kicked to the bottom of the bed arranged so you could see that there are two of them but they are so dirty and ugly that who would want to sleep on them except Fester! Loved this vid.

Thank you so much Roberta! I have seen a couple comments mentioning an old feather pillow so I may have to figure out how to make something like that. I love the visual description!💕

Amazing tutorial! I think uncle Fester needs a dirty pillow and just a simple bedsheet 😂

Thank you Nabil! I agree with you ;) A pillow all scrunched up and out of shape!

I think a burlap sack sleeping bag would suit Fester. He's kind of like a big kid so might get excited about a sleeping bag, but it would have to be the itchiest fabric around.

I would put an old aged wool blanket with holes and frayed half on and half off the bed, and sheets made out of something scratchy and aged. But not neatly on the bed. Just tossed on and definitely dirty and old looking.

I think perhaps an old army will blanket, they are always too short and small to cover you completely and itchy too. It'd be perfect for uncle Fester

oh, that looks great! though the matress could be softer by using thick fabric and some fluff inside.

Im sure you decided ages ago, but i was thinking maybe an old ratty blanket and dirty pillow but nothing else? Love the mattress.
