Looming over the stark wastes of Northrend, Icecrown Citadel awaits those who would see the Lich King and his Scourge brought low and the threat they pose wiped from the face of Azeroth. The heroes who venture within will face some of the greatest horrors yet seen. But before you burst into the front gate of the citadel, an alternate means of entry beckons. Journey through three separate wings of the new five-player dungeon, Icecrown Citadel: The Frozen Halls, and follow Jaina Proudmoore or Sylvanas Windrunner into the Lich King's domain.
ICECROWN CITADEL: THE FROZEN THRONE
All across Northrend, many battles have been fought against the vile Scourge. Countless lives have been lost since the Alliance and the Horde first reached these frozen wastes, but the champions of Azeroth continue to march forward -- and Icecrown Citadel, the cornerstone of the Scourge's power and the home base of the Lich King, is their final target. Tirion Fordring and the Argent Crusade have forged an accord with Darion Mograine and the Knights of the Ebon Blade to form the Ashen Verdict. This coalition's strongest combatants, along with the champions of the Alliance and the Horde, will lead the charge against the citadel. In the new Icecrown Citadel raid dungeon, Azeroth's mightiest will face terrifying challenges before ascending to the Frozen Throne, where the Lich King and his runeblade, Frostmourne, await to deliver the heroes to their deaths....

Bran Coan not first at all...first death knights were an orcish warlock's souls "implanted" into human body...remember Teron Gorefiend..he wasnt dk with runeblade...but the warlock. And to be honest as well as Burning Legion, the Scourge are one of the core chaotic evil factions of lore. Old gods are whispering directly to them(Arthas/Ner'Zhul, Sargeras...)

Of course because Hurricane doesn't get the voice actors to do custom lines for his trailers. Probably costs too much when he can do awesome trailers already. The emotion is much stronger here of course but the actual gameplay of ICC in the Hurricane trailer is much better than here.

WOTLK was easily the best expansion. Had the most interesting story, gameplay, raids, pvp. It was just WoW at its peak!

The climax of WoW. Even with Blizz's increased focus on cinematic storytelling and dramatic quests in later expansions, this here was the peak of my WoW experience; the day ICC opened and me and my 24 closest companions rode in to finally face the Lich King.
Here after the shadowlands... Best part is we failed to kill him , he actually defeated us

You clearly haven't been playing Legion, which so far seems like Wrath on steroids.....
You'd be surprised. So far, the reviews are all positive, myself included: fantastic quest lines, literary tons of content that you can do, progression of your char even after max level, etc.
I've played it as well, but I still think it feels -atleast- Lorewise that they're shooting themselves a bit in the leg. Wotlk was the pinnacle of WoW it was just so perfect, atleast in my eyes.
I remember when everyone was complaining during Wotlk how much the expansion sucks. Oh how times have changed. In 5 years WoD will be really great, I see it.
Who ever spoke ill of wotlk? I mean I know a lot of people are cheering for TBC, but Wrath just felt so complete, atleast to me.
It's 2018 already I'll probably be coming back to this video in 2028 too
My one and only Arthas kill on 25-man normal, even with the 30% buff down at the end of the expansion, is still the greatest moment I ever had in 12+ years of WoW. We worked for so long on that fight, it was so incredibly cathartic when we finally got him.
Only Kael'thas and Arthas were the villians who stood out big time for me.

I loved the entire raid but the Gunship Battle. To me it made no sense. We got the Lich King, the ultimate evil right before us, and we still have to fight the opposing faction? I just hated the idea of involving faction conflict into the attack on the Scourge...
For what did they fight? Any expanations lore-wise? To get to the Lich King faster?
Well, the alliance and the horde had pretty much gone to war after the wrathgate. The tension had always been there and it turned into war.
They fought over the Wrathgate. The Alliance was still bitter because they felt the Horde was to blame for Putress' betrayal, and the Horde was still enraged because the Alliance kicked down the doors to the Undercity to kill Putress and retake Lordaeron. The Alliance and the Horde didn't want to be involved with one another.
Yeah I know. But still the whole fight feels stupid. Especially considering that we got the leaders of each faction standing side-by-side with Tirion at the bottom floor of the Citadel...
KJH The only reason they weren't hacking at each other there is because Tirion and the Argent Crusaders/Acherus Knights would have given them an ass kicking for it.
On the gunships most of the people there were just soldiers and a general or two who were pissed off as all hell over the Wrathgate and acted on impulse while racing to get first dibs on the Lich King's head.
Questionable Object Actually they didn't fight because they were part of the same cause "the argent Crusade" They have soldiers from all races and the Ebon Blade were united with them since the fight at lights chapel when understanding that the death knights that were being created were death cattle to bring one man out of hiding.
The reason the fight commenced on the gunships was primarily because of the death of Bolvar for the Alliance as for the Horde it was for Saurfangs son and Garroshs leadership in Northrend "People seem to forget he was one of the leading commanders in that expansion"
One of the better character stories from start to finish.

Wrong. Arthas, in his book, took back his body at the end, killing ner'zhul. He knows what he's doing now. He is the lich king.

Interestingly enough, the part where he kills his father Terenas and his crown falls on the ground isn't from the Warcraft 3 cinematic. The crown itself is an extremely pixelated version of the WC3 crown too.

This was really the end of Warcraft. Nothing more needed to happen, dragons, pandas, draenor. It's over. This was the summit. By and far away the best game I ever played was WoW during this patch.

Hector Onetto Pandaren were given too great a focus (great as part of a bigger expansion, bad as the focus of an expansion), Deathwing was never a believable villain (really, he was just a dragon with armor plates that became overinflated in importance by a mediocre author), and Draenor is just very meh (playing on nostalgia and it being an admission that they can't come up with interesting new characters). I'll concur that Wrath was the apex of the game. Warlords made it better than the nadir that was Cataclysm, but yeah.
