Funny. But it's not made for standard bread slicing. This is supposed to be used on danish or german style bread that needs to be sliced thinly in perfect, quick succession. Imagine a bakery that makes hundreds if not thousands of loaves. That must all be equally thinly sliced. A knife while possible to use, especially at home, is not going to be the most efficient tool in this kind of situation.

Well, it was built to last... Today's vehicles are built to break after a few years to promote sales, so people will either buy parts (which are ridiculously expensive) or buy new cars. This is sadly not only with cars, but with the majority of modern and "eco friendly" technology. Is is marketed to save trees or whatnot, but industrial waste is sadly not decreasing... :(
Your level of skill and knowledge is amazing. Your experience of what tool, technique and/or chemical to use for each part of the job at hand is appreciated and respected.
Wire brush and penetrating oil, rather than just stripping the hell out of the screws. You just blew my mind. LMAO! Seems so obvious, in retrospect. I am going to keep that little nugget of knowledge. Thank you.
I guess someone has commented this before, but this bread slicer is a clone of the danish Raadvad bread slicer (lots of videos on youtube about it), and it is made for slicing german /danish type rye bread in thin slices - a task that it will perform perfect. It's not made for softer wheat bread.

Yeah we need to start approaching our consumption more like this but it's hard because we aren't all this talented
There is something very relaxing about watching someone restore old items like this
This brings me so much peace and contentment.
My favorite things in this video were the grind stone, the cat, and the worker’s hands. Very soothing, makes me want to take up metal objects restoration as a hobby
*pulls out torch*
“I wasn’t asking.”
Then it screeches in defeat
Man couldnt just flex his skills he also had to flex his cat, Yes.
And flamethrower
Your profile pic is awesome dude haha
I just wanted to say i love your profile picture.......that is all
I love this channel because it's just an older gentleman restoring things with Avril
I found many restoration channels on UA-cam but this is the best so far 👌👍
And Avril is so adorable ❤😍
When he uses the old screws and not faking with fresh one, that's authentic touch
Usually screws aren’t able to be restored because if they get rusted through, they’re useless at that point
@@meowmur302 ikr
@@meowmur302 but he managed to restore them also, that's an icing to the cake
When a 70 year old bread cutter was better build than today's vehicles
Well, it was built to last... Today's vehicles are built to break after a few years to promote sales, so people will either buy parts (which are ridiculously expensive) or buy new cars. This is sadly not only with cars, but with the majority of modern and "eco friendly" technology. Is is marketed to save trees or whatnot, but industrial waste is sadly not decreasing... :(
Most vehicles Today are built to fold in a car Crash so your Body doesn't get crushed in the process tho
Your level of skill and knowledge is amazing. Your experience of what tool, technique and/or chemical to use for each part of the job at hand is appreciated and respected.
I can only fantasize about having access to the tools to do this, but it's soooo satisfying to watch. :)
Wire brush and penetrating oil, rather than just stripping the hell out of the screws. You just blew my mind. LMAO! Seems so obvious, in retrospect. I am going to keep that little nugget of knowledge. Thank you.
These videos are the epitome of “random shit UA-cam recommends to you at 4AM” and we all love it
Avril, the cutest cat from restorations🐱🐈
For the first time on UA-cam I've seen the real restoration with real rust.
Bolts and wrenches:I'm asking nicely
Torch: last chance
Acetylene torch: I'm done playing
Not many people will get this joke lol
if you dont get the joke its at 2:30 i think
I see you know your tools and gasses. I was thinking the same here 🤣🤣
Bolt doesn't get loose. Acetylene torch: "Can't be tight if you are liquid".

Ah yes.. a baguette guillotine. A staple of french engineering.
Thought first it was a guillotine for the cat ... 😱

Top job!
Love the fact that u restored the wood as well, makes it much more of a restoration
But I just don’t understand why he didn’t just use new wood!!!
@@dolphinlunasol3486 because it’s a...restoration?

I must say, you sir have the patience and precision of an eagle. Very enjoyable video. Thanks for sharing 👍
Every video is awesome, but Avril is the star EVERY time!
That's not a bread cutter. That's for the french elite.
Are u french ?

I guess someone has commented this before, but this bread slicer is a clone of the danish Raadvad bread slicer (lots of videos on youtube about it), and it is made for slicing german /danish type rye bread in thin slices - a task that it will perform perfect. It's not made for softer wheat bread.
