In 15 years behind the wheel, I never once drove without the seat belt. And it has nothing to do with safety, nor with cops and tickets. It's just much more comfortable to drive through the curves when you are held in place by the belt, instead of having your ass slide left and right, making your feet less in control of the pedals, which makes the driving and shifting less smooth and jerky.

I absolutely agree with you on littering, and I have a good story about it. About 2 months before the pandemic hit my area, I was in a gas station parking lot parked next to some jackass in a V-6 Mustang, and the jackass tosses his cup into the ditch behind us. So I got out of my F-150 really pissed off, picked it up, and silently handed it back to him while glaring at him directly in the eyes, and of course he's freaked the fuck out by this 6'3"/190cm and 300lb/136kg sasquatch in steel toed boots who's ready to strangle him for being a dumbfuck, and you know what his piss poor excuse for littering was? "Oh, I didn't see you there, boss."
Honestly, I still can't believe that was his excuse for littering, but I made sure he walked his lazy ass to the trashcan 25 feet away while glaring at him the entire time until he drove away a few minutes later. They're not even meant to go "off-road".
Only as "off-road" as a dusty farm road but that's about it. They're a joke of a vehicle, especially with the American wobble suspension.

I've never seen anyone using hazards in the rain where I live in Texas. The biggest issue I have is a lot of people around here don't turn on their lights in the fog no matter how dense it is and then they'll drive like 30-40 in a 55 and you don't see them until you're 10 feet from their bumper.

@02:54 Actually, in Europe you are _supposed_ to decrease speed if "the road is wet":
    1. Below some speed limit signs, there is a supplementary table saying "among wet conditions"
    2. In Luxembourg you are supposed to drive 110 km/h on the highway, if it it is wet.
    3. In germany people take the gas immediately off on the highway, to 80 km/h if the road is wet - regardless if there are signs for it. Germans are instructed to this in the driving school.
Under wet circumstances, the traction is 47% of that under normal conditions - meaning longer brake distance. This is why.
