Strictly from a standpoint of technique and training, Gummy by far is the better singer. Nothing is forced, everything is sung technically perfect. Her classical training really shines through.

Back from watching ailee’s version of you are my everything, and i realised how ailee was rooting and respecting gummy’s cover the whole time, while gummy interrupted when ailee sang, i’m not saying to spread hate or anything but i would really appreciate it if gummy gave ailee her chance to shine. All in all i really respect ailee and gummy and their professionalism and talent they are truly ost queens🥰
I don't get it why people try to judge which version is better. It depends on what we like in songs. It is indeed very personal and subjective. This version is different that we can say for sure, and that is the point of singing covers to sing the song in different way. Who cares for covers which are the same as original versions...
Ailee totally has a vibrato. What you don't like is an exaggerated vibrato, which is what Gummy sings with. Nearly every modern singer has a vibrato of some type. It's healthier for the vocal chords and produces a richer, fuller sound.
