Hello guys, a small but important request to all Indians. Please guys if you see any foreigner is being getting troubled from these taxi, auto drivers or anyone else or getting harassed by anyone on the road, just approach them, greet them and ask of they need any help.
May they don't and just enjoying walking on the road or anything but please do approach them.
Very sad to see when foreigner had bad experience on the road, on tourist place. It's not good for India reputation around the world and feel ashamed as Indians.
Enjoy diverse culture of India, please keep coming
Thanks
🙏
Bro I am an Indian and went to jaipur. I too was hassled by these rickshaw drivers, tour guides etc. I had a legit BREAKDOWN. Screamed at them with tears in my eyes to just leave me the f alone or else I'll call the police now.
Felt sad for all the foreigners who can't even do that because they're too kind and respectful.
The first day I visited India I stopped trusting everyone. By the second day I realized I was wrong. You get approached by so many people when you arrive all trying to make money off you. When you get out of the city you notice most people are trying to meet you or help you and don’t want your money when they approach. Most of the ones that do want your money are approaching with a fair service or price on goods once you’re out of the heaviest tourist areas. I had a guy insist on buying me a bus ticket even though I told him I had enough to get to my next atm. I was fed several times and toured around places at no cost or expectations. A lot of Indians are proud of their history and love when foreigners show interest. It’s a hard country to navigate but a lot of places are worth the effort
@@simranjaglan9932I had one of my worst breakdowns and made a pretty big scene in my first few minutes in Jaipur. One of the guys I was yelling at tried fighting me but got dragged away. I immediately bought a bus ticket and got out of town
@@rodneyp9590 Glad you met nice people! I never meant to say that everyone is like that. There are lots of nice people. But heckling tourists is not the way forward. Maybe ask them once, but not more than that. As someone who really has a hard time saying no, it really makes me very anxious, very quick.
Everyone should have the freedom to choose how to explore a new place.
I went to Agra and I remember how distracting and annoying it was to have so many people persistently insisting that we take an auto, or get a photo etc etc. My best memories are from a fort that had an expensive entry ticket, so it was calm and peaceful.
Me and my family could just sit down in peace and take it all in. At our own pace.
Of course if there is a tourist from outside India, and if they ever approach us, we would love to help them out. But the choice should always be in your hands.
When you are having a hard time, thinking about your trip to India brings you comfort. There is no country more difficult than India
North Korea?
@@parker4406 Depends on how you define "difficult". Tourism in NK is _exactly_ the opposite of what you find in India. Lots of restrictive rules, and everything is centralized and rigidly controlled by the government. And I guess it's very quiet there. I know people (Westerners) who have travelled to NK and they didn't hate it lol. I wouldn't ever want to go there but hey, whatever floats your boat.
My best friends travelled through India for 6-7 weeks and absolutely loved it. I personally wouldn't last a day. So kudos to you! You're seriously brave, and I love how you keep exploring the country even when things get overwhelming.
You'll leave India as a much more skilled and seasoned traveller, so enjoy the wealth of experience.
If you travel to India and not being scammed you are breaking the laws of India

the reality of traveling to India: dont.
Glad I backpacked through India for 2 months when I was young, had patience, zest for adventure/travelling and an iron stomach for digestion.
You could not pay me to get anywhere close to India now.
Truly a different world and an eye opening experience 😬
India is not for everyone
No one is going too india is too big for anyone's stereotypes btw india have some of the best sceneries in the world we ain't missing anyone
Sorry you had to go through that, he was trying to cancel Uber and ask you to book a package deal for 3-4 places in 1700 Rs. He should have just taken you to the gate of Amer palace and dropped you there.
I had similar experience in Jodhpur with tuk tuk drivers since my wife is a westerner. Thankfully i am native to India and knew what to do
why are they selling coconuts when they dont have the tools to open them LOL
It's called Jugad
Horrible to watch
Maybe Zane can teach them how to open a coconut and charge them for the education 🙂
@@shanzi1930 They may be aware of it, yet employers in India con their workers by making them work long hours. Therefore, even with tools they do not even provide, they can still save money on tools. Thus, the employee must apply his own judgment. That is the reason India continues to lag behind.
Great video Zane. India and its cultural heritage has always interested me and this confirmed that. Besides the pushy vendors, India has a lot of love and friendliness to it. Enjoy the rest of your travels and meals!
This is a very painful episode. These are what we call “tourist traps” in the West. You handled yourself very well, did not lose your patience. You are a star 🎉
Ok, this is one place I'd never want to go to.
Don’t go
As an Indian i say foreigners shouldn’t go to India
9:10 " Rickshaw Mafia"
😂 💯
This seems so stressful.
Here are some suggestions, I hope you would read :
1.It's not the right time to visit Delhi or Jaipur due to the intense heat, which is why there aren't many national or international tourists. Most people head north to the Himalayas to escape the heat.
2. Instead of using an open auto for Jaipur sightseeing in soaring heat , you could have asked your hotel to book a personal day tour. This is a safer and more pleasant, not so costly and free from touts and scams option, and it's how majority Indian tourists prefer to travel.
3.When visiting Amber Palace (Amer Fort), hiring a tour guide is recommended. It's affordable and provides valuable historical insights, making the visit much more enriching. Your auto driver was mistaken about the need for a guide.
👍
what are the prices for guides around forts?
I had sooo many Uber drivers in India pick me up and lie about some reason they need to cancel and do it off Uber, it got so annoying. You really have to make sure you don’t act like a first timer tourist and learn some of the language so people don’t try and take advantage of. You should really check out the south of India or the north east

6 minutes in and I'm stressed as hell. I feel like you'll be back in Japan or Korea soon after this :P
Please do not stereotype India like that!
North India aka Delhi and Rajasthan does not represent the entire country! India has places like Northeast India, Ladakh which is culturally very very close to East Asia!
Heard of Northeast India?
I have seen other western youtube travel vloggers, they really say good about India! Kara and Nate, Marc Travels, Buddymoon, Josie Lifts Things, etc!
India is overall very diverse from inside The crowd, chaos which you see is just a tiny part of that with the rest of the parts being completely difference For example you can experience a silent forest trek in Himalayan mountains with old buddhist monasteries if you go to Northeast india, you can see a version of Tibet in Ladakh, you can see a natural retreat in the mountain valley in Himachal Pradesh You can experience a typical seaside beach in Goa, you can experience the beauty of tropical backwaters in Kerala and a old European town vibe in the city of Kochi You can be amazed to see the flora and fauna of Ooty a hill station in South India + mountain railway ride in Darjeeling, Himachal Pradesh Moreover you can even experience snowfall in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh Better. You should atleast visit Northwestern India, Northeast India and South India once. They are very different. From my maternal side I have descended from the Kochin, whereas my paternal ancestors were Oriental Jews from Iran. The Jewish community in India is one of the oldest overseas Jewish community which dates back to 3000 years when the first Jews from the Holy Land settled in Southern India as merchants.

Wow how annoying and frustrating that you have to hustle just to get a ride. I don't know where you are going next but I hope you will get to relax a bit at your next destination!
As someone who has frequently been to India, may I make a few suggestions. First, wear a white or light colored shirt ( and clothing in general ) and cover your head. You feel be cooler and keeping the sun off your head helps enormously. In dealing with the wallahs for rickshaws and other forms of transportation, ask about the price before getting into or onto the vehicle. If a price is agreed before you get in and there are any attempts at price re-negotiation thereafter, get out immediately. It is unfortunate for a blogger but the camera is an attraction and draws children ( of all ages ). So, bearing in mind that you have a camera fairly prominently displayed, with any harassment, politely and very firmly, tell the person(s) to leave you alone: ignore ALL appeals or pestering that may follow and continue walking. Zane, if I may so write, was too good natured - yes, be polite, but as importantly, be firm and look firm and that you will harbor no excuse.
Hello Zane! Love your stuff, you give me a big favor with this series of India videos, was considering visiting but, there is no way in God's green earth I would visit this country, your last video was just literally frightening how aggressive these street hawkers were, and like you I am not aggressive towards them to tell them no so I hope you get out of there with your wallet be safe my friend looking forward to your next country Rick from Canada

As locals from India, we understand how navigating transportation can sometimes be tricky. While every traveler has the freedom to choose their mode of transport, we strongly recommend considering traveling with a local expert, especially in such a diverse and vast country. Opting for a tour with professional drivers and knowledgeable guides might cost more upfront, but it ensures safety, reliability, and an enriched experience. Local experts can offer valuable insights, secure travel arrangements, and handle any potential issues that may arise, allowing you to focus on enjoying the beauty and culture of the destination without worry.
We strive to turn potential challenges into soulful, joyful experiences, ensuring that travelers can immerse themselves fully in India's rich heritage and vibrant culture. We hope future travelers take this into account to avoid similar experiences and make the most of their time in India. Safe travels and better adventures ahead!

I would suggest you to go to places like Kashmir, ladakh, Uttarakhand in North. Kolkata, Darjeeling, Sikkim Shilong, Arunachal pradesh in east and North East India. Goa, mumbai, Hampi, Gokarna, Chennai, Kerala etc in South India.
These places will have very little scammers and you will have more authentic experience.
If I can suggest 1 place then that's Kerala.
It's one of the hottest summers in a while, be hydrated, don't be shy to carry an umbrella in Sun, use sun screen, wear white clothes made out of cotton, put a wet hanky around neck.
Go to south or Himalayas or North east. North India is the hottest at this moment.
Visiting rajasthan,in this hot summer only alien can do these things
you are going udaipur next 😅😅
💯 they’d earn more if they didn’t pester the life outta everyone
I’ve been all over the world and just have ZERO interest in visiting India. I would have lost my ish. 😂
legend has it that Zane is still trying to get away from guides.
In India uber driver always confirm your location by calling.
That's true. This guy should know its not a scam but a norm.
Zane traveling in Incredible India can be trying at times but well worth it if you're prepared enough. I have been there twice. Lost my cool towards the end of my six month stay this year. I'll be back for sure. Varanasi, Rishikesh, Jagannath Puri, Pushkar......
India is not making any effort to fix its problems. India has a bad habit of blaming all problems on the victims. I don't understand. Of course, India is a country rich in culture, but there is no doubt that there is a lot of room for improvement.
And Karl Rock left NZ for this place. Insane
