This coaster is almost 20 years old and I didn't know until now that it had a dark ride area - I'm very impressed. The timing with the vocals when launching - excellent. A great medium-sized Intamin hydraulic launcher.
@Nordlicht88 We loved it. The theming section at the start was really well done, the launch was intense (as is the case on most Intamin hydrolic launches), and the airtime was great!
This is one of the most nostalgic and probably my favorite non-Disney/Universal themed coaster for me. I used to (and still do) watch theme park ride povs, and that was the basis for how I became a coaster enthusiast. This is one of my top bucket list coasters for me because I found the police car set so entertaining in those circa 2010 videos I watched
@AstroBlitz64 It's an amazing coaster. There aren't too many of these Intamin hydrolic launch coasters left now, sadly. This definitely lived up to expectations 🙂
If you're wondering who played Superman's voice in this ride, it's Brandon Routh. Recorded the dialogue during the filming of Superman Returns in Sydney.
It's amazing, we could ride it all day. There aren't many of these Intamin hydrolic coasters left now. Hopefully, the park can keep it running for many more years to come 🙂
I hope they restore John Williams theme to the break run section..... The ride originally had the Superman theme play over loudspeakers as you return to the station. It's sadly missed.
@Pleemus We wouldn't say their lines were any longer than any other park we've visited. This is also a longer experience compared to most other Intamin hydrolic launch coasters 🙂
According to this ride, Superman could have been voiced by Keith Wickham, Kerry Shale, or Rob Rackstraw. There’s just a few voice actors playing the role of Gordon the Big Engine.
@mynameiskrysta It was strapped to my chest, but yes, I could move it a little. That's how the camera pans to the left a little when passing each set piece in the dark section 🙂
Keep your head back and look forward when getting ready for the launch. And have fun! One you overcome the fear and have done it once, you'll likely want to get back in line to do it again.
@@XtremeCoasters thanks so much! Great advice, is it for comfort and safety reasons? I’ve heard people say that before for other rides! Any other tips when we are on the exiting bit, the huge drops, and twists? Thanks again!
@OziDeLi The acceleration is fast, so if you're looking to the side, or don't have your head against the head rest, you can get quite a nasty jolt to your neck, or bash your head against the back of the seat. After the launch, the drops, speed and pacing shouldn't be an issue. The biggest thrill on this coaster is the initial launch. The rest of the ride is incredible as well, with some amazing airtime moments. If you're concerned about the drop from the top hat section, sit as close to the front as you can. The front of the train is midway down the drop before it starts to pick up speed again. The back seat gets dragged over the top and down the full drop 🙂
Attention all fairy tale things! Do not get comfortable! Your welcome is officially worn out! In fact, I’m going to see this Farquaad guy right now and get you all off my land and back where you came from!
It wasn't back into the crumbling subway, it was into a safe and secure subway where we could depart the train 🙂 You'll notice where we get off is not the same station as we boarded. This is actually quite a long coaster for an Intamin hydrolic coaster. Most definitely longer than a lot of the other coasters of this type. You take the layout at an extremely high speed, so it does make the coaster feel a bit shorter.
It doesn't, really. It was an Intamin thing around the time this coaster was built. They have the same restraints on other hydrolic launch coasters built around the same time, like Stealth, Kingda Ka, Rita, etc. They're perfectly comfortable though. We experienced zero head banging while riding.
Ehh, I've smacked my neck on it before because I leant forward near one of the turns. There are several warnings given while you're in the queue to keep your head back, and Superman says it as well before he pushes you. Lol those warnings are for a reason.

It's a great touch 🙂
I was absolutely freaking out at the start but when superman says "I'll get you there, fast" I was like "yeah let's do it superman"
Little superman on the back pushing is adorable!
It's a great little touch. Especially as Superman says just before the launch he's going to push you out of the subway, fast!

Yes, that would have been great. The park will have likely needed to pay a licencing fee to use the music, that's possibly why it's been removed.
I have seen POV's of this ride over the years, but somehow I have always missed the darkride section.I had no idea!
