  • Found this solo recently and had to figure out what he was doing, he explores some really interesting ideas and sounds here. I might make an analysis of this solo and go through line for line what he's doing and how we can understand these concepts and apply them in our own playing.     I remember the first time I saw this. Renegade Creation at Mike's Place, classic Robben. A perfect combination of blues and outside playing.

    What scale is he using? Diminished and whole tone? I would like to understand why is he using this pattern over f#m

      Those two as well as some triads and different things. I'm thinking about doing an analysis of some kind of this solo!
