Apple's 'One More Thing' VisionPro Announcement - the vibe from the audience at Apple Park WWDC.

- I was lucky enough to be invited to WWDC when Apple brought out a product which validates my life's work and industry. I shot this on my DJI Osmo. Going to be a huge few years ahead for the XR industry - but we've waited long-enough.
this vs. the sounds they make when the price is announced is a masterpiece
yup pretty much ua-cam.com/users/shorts4swt0pm6K8s
well to be honest from the name “vision **pro**” it’s probably not intended for the avg. consumer, so probably for a dedicated person, yes, they might get it, but the for the average customer they probably wouldn’t, in the first place, it’s not intended for them
@@hundredandten 😂
This DEFINITELY won’t be for the masses
exactly. premium product for a premium price.
So cool to see the reaction of the audience! I'm so shocked at how mature it feels even though it is only the beginning.
Yup!!! Just like 2D computer screen began in the 1970s, 3D computing began from 2010 and around 2030, it will blow to the entire world just like how personal computer skyrocketed in the 1990s and smartphones flooded in 2010s.
I've been able to do the same things in my vr headset since 2019..
That is called marketing
@@RainbowCuganah you haven’t been able to. Who are you kidding?
They are so mature that they let themselves be swayed by money where for 10x cheaper they have oculus
The excitement of everyone when they hear Tim say “augmented reality” vs how they react when they hear the price lol
I'm excited to see how Vision Pro performs once its out in the real-world. Definitely would love to experience the panorama feature and watching a couple movies
@ilikedogs9111Who cares about the price. It’d be worth it in my opinion
Facts I have a vr headset and that gives me a headache after 10mins
@ilikedogs9111 bECAUSE IT LOOKS COOL
@@jakefox3677 thats from shotty refresh rates.
@ilikedogs9111 I feel like this is more of a "just because we can doesn't mean we should" situation. I'd rather not watch a football game with my friends where we all have to wear goggles.
And there's no way you could wear this in public without people judging you compared to having a pc or phone.
Hello! I'm dead center in the frame at 1:26. Amazing to be there for this announcement, you really could feel the hype!
Hi Steve!
How do you get accepted
Is anyone one allowed to buy tickets for this Show?
You have to be an influencer i guess
I am clearly not an influencer. You apply through the developer site and get selected randomly.
Sounds like a south park character announcing something lol
Really sounds like Mr Garrison
I was gonna comment this too 😂😂😂
Ngl thank you for recording this historical event. 30 years from today, this video will be interesting to watch!
Love it
Historical? Its just another lame overpriced apple product
I’m not saying Vision Pro will succeed, but I’d like to point out that I remember these exact same things being said about iPhone in 2007.
The iphone was innovative and original, of course it will succeed. The vision pro is just another lame apple product@@AGoodVibe
@@Warp2090 Everyone holds their own perspective, and I appreciate and respect that. It'll be intriguing to revisit your comment in the future, gaining insight into what the world will be like then 😊
Imagine flying to California and sitting down at the stage at the Apple Park just to see 2D Prerecorded Tim Cook.
I'm half convinced that Zuckerberg is a lizard, and Tim Apple has been computer-generated for the last few years.
No, he was there - and was on-stage earlier. They obvs don't want to risk the Murphy's Law of Live Demos though, as Steve Jobs did. So he was standing to the side of the stage while the video pres played to launch Vision Pro.
You also have to remember Steve Job Theater only holds a certain amount of attendees. This enables them to bring in many more guests. And who wouldn’t want to visit Apple Park? The outer circumference of the main building is a mile!
100%@@hummersd Steve Jobs Theatre only holds 1000.
The outdoor movies replacing the keynotes are soooo beyond lame. I get they cover more ground, but even the iPod Nano had a better presentation.
Watching people use their pocket screens to record an outdoor screen. I wish they would bring back live presentations.
I totally agree. Seeing an engineer on stage doing a technical demo is what it should always be. They announced a product and didn’t even demo it. Imagine if they announced the iPhone and didn’t demo it.
@@PlymitBoy After reading your comment. Yeah this project is totally a promise rather than product currently.
Although 1 key difference is that it might look weird to most people as 1 person wearing that headset and people cannot experience in anyway. Could be landmine of memes.
Whatever, But you’re right. Product demos should be demos.
Yeah I was about to say. What’s the point of going all the way there when it’s marginally different from a UA-cam premiere. The Steve Jobs keynotes are timeless but this is just meh.
It would be sick if Apple record future events in the Vision Pro so you could “experience” the event in a new way
Could just use an iPhone 15.....
@@ARstralianor an iPhone 3gs but that wasn’t the point
@@lamar6482He meant about the iphone 15 because you can record spatial videos also with iphone 15pro/promax
@@lamar6482no buddy, iPhone 15 Pro can record spatial, so it’s better than using a Vision Pro since they only would barely last through the duration of the event. Also easier to hold and record with.
Right like as the events happening you could visually see the product infront of you and stuff, sounds cool if they do that
Some people dont understand that the wonderful thing here it isnt the product itself only, the wonderful part its all the posibilities that this device came to us for the years to come.
Never realized how much Tim sounded like Mr. mackey from South Park. same accent and everything 😂
I think they should bring back the stage, even if theyre just gonna show videos I'd rather see the people irl
Tim Cook was there - at the side of the stage, with bodyguards. He walked-on to speak to the audience at the beginning - but then let the videos play for the rest of WWDC.
@emirates247 Because they like doing these sweeping cinematic style video launches, now. It means they can record multiple takes and cut it all together with a bunch of production, instead of just having Tim and his execs walking on and off a stage, which lets them tell the brand story the way they want to, today. Steve died and with him, so did the showmanship of one iconic figure standing on a stage showing off the latest and greatest. One more thing to mourn, for us, I suppose. :(
Even if you hate them, you gotta admit Apple aims at perfection when releasing new technology products, even if they are late in the game!
They aim to perfect the price by keeping it at the highest price where consumers will still buy it, so basically ∞
@@ulize. Not necessarily true. They, as a capitalistic company, still follow theories of microeconomics. For their high end machines, they have basically a monopoly so they charge outrageous prices. However, for the iPhones and whatnot, you’ll notice that many high end Android phones nowadays basically cost the same or even more.
@@JoeARedHawk275 that's true that most high-end Androids are the same price, but that doesn't excuse the fact that Apple doesn't provide many budget options. Even their lowest priced products are higher priced than other companies products. The cheapest new iPhone you can buy from Apple directly is $450; meanwhile, you can buy a Samsung A03s for $160. Yes, the A03s isn't a higher quality phone, but Apple could easily provide a super-budget option phone but they don't. Same with their laptops: the cheapest MacBook Air starts at $1k, but you could totally get a different laptop for cheaper than that if you went with Windows.

Apple Vision Pro, starts, at 34 99 99
Crowd: oh…
Weird to watch this on my Apple Vision Pro 7 months later
This is how it all began, the beginning of a new era of technology!
"so, with my good friend, Todd Howard, we're introducing: Skyrim.. EXTRADIONARY EDITION to VR!"
They're watching a screen?
Then the crowd’s shocked at the price the gasps were loud
I'm too young and too broke to be able to afford this at launch. Hopefully, I'll be able to get the first non-pro version and even further in the future, I'll be able to say that I saw the future of computing get unveiled to us right before my eyes.
Dude, no offense, but you've bought into apple marketing so hard. Everything this headset does has been done already. For way cheaper. There's literally no reason to support apple in the endeavor. They're insane to think people should pay that price when we've had comparable headsets for ages at a way lower price point. It's not the future, it's the fucking past. My god. Get your head out of your ass.
the guy with an android ahahaha
Saw myself in the audience! Thanks for posting this🎉
i love how everytime i see the anouncement video, the dog in the demo looks so confused at what their human is wearing
I remember when I first watched this I cried so hard this is like the most important invention since Issac Newton invented E=MC law.
apple fanboys will tell you this is new while we have enjoyed it for a few years now. then they will say "but this is better" lmao
It is new. There is no other device like this in the market. Pass-through on Quest or VIVE etc isn't in the same universe as what they've done on AVP. It is a device to focus on 'experience and content' rather than form-factor. There will be more 'VisionOS devices' to come which will likely be waveguide instead of pass-through video - but the standard for content and interaction (gestural/voice/foveal) will be set by the AVP initially. The device isn't perfect by a long way, yet - but APPLE have opted for content and UX over what you put on your face. It's a gutsy move. I suspect it will pay off. People will pay for experiences.
so ignorant......
1:47 why does he sound like Mr. Garrison from South Park?
Beyond excited to see what the future of tech looks like
And I still using every single day with my MacBook Pro.
so you went to apple HQ to watch it on a screen?
It was WWDC and wasn't all on a screen (was hybrid with Tim Cook speaking on stage for a bit and then on-screen etc). After the presentation, we could sit down with the leaders of divisions (eg Vision Group) and talk to tham about products and opportunities. And then there were developer sessions when you could preview the build features etc. Plus we could get up close with the device (not to try-on though, unfortunately). And then all the usual WWDC stuff.
Didn't google try something similar a few years back?
Nope - Google had a very basic Samsung Gear VR style HMD called Daydream and that’s where they stopped. They were heavy investors in Magic Leap however, but haven’t taken that further (much to ML’s disappointment I suspect).
There are rumours they were working on a stereoscopic AR HMD to launch round the time of Vision Pro, but given the turmoil in their AR/VR teams, it seems unlikely. There are other headsets out there that are utilising Snapdragon Spaces (and chips) however, so there will be Android offerings. Just not from Google for a while, I suspect.
@@ARstralian No sorry I had to look up the name of it, it was called Google Glass that they tried out about 10 years ago. I remember the teaser video seemed pretty similar to this one with the AR features. Hopefully the vision pro will work out better, I have wanting good AR ever since I saw the Google Glass teaser.
I actually had one of the first Google Glass units and wore it for a couple of years. It was a heads-up-display that projected a screen into a prism just above your eye. The little bit of foil at the end of the prism used to peel off during even a mildly humid day - so I had to have mine replaced a couple of times. This form factor comes under a category called ‘assisted reality’ which, these days, is led by companies like Realwear and is used widely in Enterprise. Glass definitely didn’t have the ability to run ARcore and anchor a 3D scene to the real world environment. Vision Pro is far, far more advanced and is ground-up designed for anchored, persistent fully-real-time 3D content.
@@ARstralian "Vision Pro is far, far more advanced and is ground-up designed for anchored, persistent fully-real-time 3D content"
And you know this from slick marketing videos. Yes?
No, I know it from being in the industry for 13 years, from knowing people who worked on the development of VisionPro at Apple and from sitting in on the VisionOS Developer sessions at WWDC + speaking to the Apple Vision Dept team@@DerekDavis213
Damn. The theater was full and there’s these many people outside?! Wow.
No, the Steve Jobs theatre is too small to host these sorts of events now - hence they have built the semi-outdoor stage and big screen adjacent to the dining district in Apple Park. The outside venue is fairly scalable for seating.
The theatre only has 1000 seats and Apple has 12000 staff at this one site alone. So if they want to do an all-hands meeting, they need the space.
I want to see the reaction when they revealed the price
why even bother going if they just show the same thing i watched online
It was exciting to be there, in the crowd. Plus we got to meet and spend time with the dedicated team inside Apple, and we got to view the product (but not try it!😤) 1:1.
@@ARstralian Yeah I guess that’s pretty cool but as someone on the east coast I would not travel to sit in front of a screen you get me?
As someone who travelled from Australia on a 15 hour flight to be there, I totally get you. Luckily, AWE2023 was just down the road in Santa Clara the week before - so I went to that too. The video presentations would have been fine, if we at least had been able to try it on. I know just about every WWDC guest felt a little let-down that we weren't given that chance@@1993MAZDAMIATA
@@ARstralian yeah for sure a bit of a fu to everyone who came. The least they could do is play a 10 second demo it is not like there were that many people there.
It’s the kick-off of the annual developer’s conference. If the event was live, very few would be able to attend as the theater only holds so many, so they’d have to have another space anyhow. This allowed them to bring in developers, media, influencers, etc. Who wouldn’t want to go into Apple Park? It’s not open to the public, nor can employees bring in guests.
The absurdity of videoing with your phone, a video projected on a stage😅. Yet here i am watching one of those videos🤔
Can anyone gets tickets to set there when Apple has its new product announcements?
It's a lottery, to get tickets to WWDC (mid-year) where they often do their biggest announcements. You generally have to be a registered and paid-up Apple Developer and you'll get the comms to apply in the lead-up. For their other events, it's official media only.
I mean, it says vision pro. PRO. So… apple vision for cheaper, right
I want to see the reaction when they announced it’ll be $3500. 😂
There weren't many 'XR industry' people at the event. Only around 5 that I counted. But the XR industry is used to paying $$$ for wearable computing. Hololens2 still retails for around $3640 USD.
If that was Steve Jobs up there he would’ve let the clip run, say “just kidding” and make fun of the design, then reveal a sleek pair of minimal glasses that does the same thing with seemingly impossible tech innovations
Wait what is this? Why isn't this in the theater and why is it just a recording?
They don't tend to use the Steve Jobs theatre so much these days - it was a perfect day - so they did it on their big outdoor auditorium that faces their 'dining district'
It's the opening scene to a sci-fi horror movie.
Despues de muchos años lo han vuelto a hacer
I’m shocked at how many men are in the crowd!
this is super diverse for anything IT. Usually it's 98% of 3 types of man.
Women wouldn't wear a big heavy metal thing on their heads, right?
I wish there was more video.
Clapping and taking photos like they’re saving the world…..
How would you be able to? Theyre taking photos for memories and clapping because they are cheering.
for corporate / big business, this could be rented for new business model
State of the people recording that 😂
It's hilarious that he begins by talking about "augmented reality", and then goes on to say it "augments reality"... and yet heaven help the developer that uses those terms in their app description.🤦🏼♂️😂
It really loses all the vibe without the guys speaking live on stage...
They did this was a remote thing
As a video, sure. But IRL, Tim Cook was at the side of the stage and Craig Federighi was front row + a lot of the leadership were there, upfront too.
It the guys were on stage, the crowd might thr0w tomatoes at them.
what about the price?
Price isn’t great - but Apple sold $300m in 15 mins the other day. If you can charge it, why wouldn’t you? Simple supply and demand economics.
So glad to say the Apple Vision Pro has officially been released!!! (2/3/2024 9:11 PM as of commenting.)
I think I saw 4 women in the crowd, wild
I wonder how can you get an invitation there. I'd love to expericne something like this.
Pure luck, mostly. Gotta be a registered Apple Dev - and then you just apply when they open it up around April/May.
Missed the part where there was a collective gasp of disappointment when they announced how much it would cost lol
It's like a religious meeting
How many people do you think were in attendance? The "ooh"s and "ahh"s must've been so impressive! (Despite rumors) that suprise and delight must've been a once in a lifetime event.
And the crowd goes mild

Amazing to see how certain companies have people under their control. Similar to a cult actually.

These prerecorded events are so boring. Apple needs to go back to in-person live events.

"Spatial computing" he should have said "visual computing" for a much better reaction
i disagree
I also disagree
I too disagree
I likewise disagree
Apple were very sensitive to the reaction and loyalty of all of their developers - to ensure that they didn't balk at the challenge of having to learn a new skillset. 'Spatial Computing' is also a term that has been used for a long time by the XR industry. I believe Apple want to create a new lexicon of terminology that is tied to the Apple brand - and bring the XR industry on the journey. Without going so far as to associate it with a term that has so much existing baggage, like 'Metaverse' or a confusing term like 'Mixed Reality'.
