When I was in Japan to ask directions after getting lost, I talked to some Japanese girls and I asked them about XG. They love the group for showing women empowerment especially a country that is very much chauvinistic. They especially love Cocona because of how confident she is on stage despite being shy like many Japanese women. It gives them inspiration is what they told me.
The "stop comparing" policing phenomenon is something unique to k-pop fandom, as I first came across it a few months ago upon discovering XG and other groups. It's weird. I get it of someone said "this member sucks" or something actually negative. But 95% of the time it's just a "this person dances the best" statement and you'll get people saying "hey don't put other members down!" ...which...they didn't do in the first place. This kind of unasked for sheltering stunts growth and progress. We should be able to acknowledge differences while at the same time be able to wish for the best of others.
in fact this group has something called "space meeting" where the seven girls sit down to talk and express what bothers them and would like to change, as well as receive feedback on what they have to individually attack both vocals, rap and dance, These girls communicate with each other like no other GG in the business and that infinitely harmonizes the dynamics within the group because they know exactly what each one thinks.
"Steel sharpens steel." So true OG especially for XG. Some songs just shine the light on specific members just because of the tone that fits it. SAR is definitely heavy on Maya and Juria (who hit that note in the car). And definitely Harvey gave it that splash of color
In my opinion, referring to the 4 rappers in the group, I feel this: Cocona brings the swag Harvey brings the flow changes Jurin brings the bars Maya brings the aggressiveness I'm sorry for my English since I'm Latino and I've always been a fan of hip hop culture
Maya the Ace continues to win more hearts ❤ and I tend to reminisce that once upon a time, Maya was a "Group C" member during training and almost got eliminated several times 😅
I’ve been an ALPHAZ from day 1. Having favorites is human nature. Parents have favorite kids, people have favorite sports teams. I’m rocking with Coco and Hinata.
I always enjoy your reactions - especially as a guy of a similar age. I’m actually half Japanese and I had a thought when you were talking about Cocona and her swag and how she’s purportedly more reserved. There is a “philosophy” of sorts in Japan that everyone has three hearts or “faces.” The public face: The face a person shows to the world The inner circle face: The face a person shows to close friends and family The hidden depths face: The face a person keeps hidden, which contains their dreams, fears, and unspoken truths. Japanese frequently keep their public heart or face very reserved. Even when XG is interacting with other band groups they are extremely polite. However, when Cocona got to meet one of her idols in person, she absolutely melted.
OG, I don’t think you’re off and I agree 100% with your take on it. Lifting someone up does not automatically bring everyone else down. XG is an astounding collection of talent and skill and awesome. But I do have my preferences within them for certain skills or charms and that is ok. I can. I love them all for their individuality. That’s what makes them sick. Love your reactions and takes. Give mascara another chance though. That song grew on me over time and now it’s one of my favorites. Especially the arrangement. Also watch the dance practice for that song cause the choreo is insane. Cheers!!
You nailed that about having an opinion. I have notice that more and more over the last 10 years.People seem to think you can’t have an opinion unless it’s their opinion. It’s gotten to the point where instead of people agreeing to disagreeing, these people throw fits like they are children. It’s gotten ridiculous
you are correct with the healthy competition take, if one watched XG's documentary, you can see they value alot on both team / family bonding among the members and healthy competition between them, it's one of the most amazing things about XG and how they are different from other idol groups is their bonding but also having top level ambitions, pushing and supporting each other to be the best... most other group may have the competition but don't have the bond so their relationship is not as strong and won't be able to push beyond their limits...
It's so unfortunate that you got into XG just when they just finished their tour in the US. Hope youll be able to get that chance next time to see them live and witness greatness. Everything you've been saying about these girls are still there during live performances
There is a saying in my country that goes something like this "we are all necessary, but not indispensable" and in my point of view this is the perfect combination, because in the documentary Simon clearly specified the qualities that the members of that group that he was forming should have, these were: humility, empathy, camaraderie and teamwork mainly, he did not want ego battles in the group, nor for one to feel more important than the other, this basically answers why XG works so well collectively while in many other groups sooner or later one of the members ends up getting dizzy being on the brick of fame and pursues solo activities, just as OG had asked in a past video about the reason why there are no more groups in the west.
You're right, the fandoms can get weirdly protective (and I loved your commentary about that around girls generally!) It is totally normal and expected in fandoms/Kpop culture for people to have their bias, and even to ask hey who is your bias? I think when you move from subjective (who's your favorite) to objective (who is THE BEST) is where they get a bit squirrely and uncomfortable. But it's all good! We know the ladies of XG have no problem with competition and working hard!
Love and agree with your comments about distinctive contributions of Harvey and Cocona. Fyi, Harvey I think was a child model and TV star that others knew and admired from earliest time in training… Cocona, known for finding a cozy corner in a busy room, is like the performers we may all know, who are shy and reserved in real life, but when on stage, watch out!
I love XG and I'm a fan of Cocona, but I don't mind if other people are fans of other members. That's because I know that people love each member as passionately as XG does. I think it's rare for girl groups to have biases as divided as XG. That's why I can support Cocona without worry. It's great that there are fans who love the other members as much as I love Cocona, and I'm happy that we can understand each other's feelings even if we have different biases.
Thank you for your reaction OG! Maya is so insane to me. She and Coco are the youngest. They were only 11 when they auditioned! Super talented and almost unlimited potential. I would argue that Maya is the most improved member of XG since debut and that is why she is my favorite. Someone once said; it doesn't matter where you start but it matters where you finish!
I completely agree that Harvey and Coco are indispensable! When I actually think of each one of them, I find something they each bring that just bring it all together. I think the more you listen to them, you will come to the same conclusion. But I agree, that Harvey and Coco are, the most noticeably, indispensable!
MAYA is my bias. I love all of them and dynamics are off the charts. CHISA’s vocals are INCREDIBLE. JURIN is the BOSS Queen. JURIA is the R & B Queen 👸🏼. COCONA is full of swag and it is 10/10. HARVEY and HINATA are foundational members. Their eyes change when they perform. SAR was filmed in JAPAN. Please react to “IS THIS LOVE”. Love the dialogue. See you in the next one. 😉♥️👍🏽🐺
I love your soapboxes. I agree. Those who try to silence people who want to share their personal preferences are weird. Asian Pop fandoms have a huge parasocial problem, where the fans forget that the artist is not their friend and are here to entertain. Choosing a preference shows that the artist was successful enough at entertaining to make people invested. Looking at it that way, it should be encouraged as part of the fun.
To the clueless Alphaz, I recommend watching the Xtra Xtra again. Don’t tell me the industry isn’t all about competition! They themselves competed for a spot and the chance to debut. Now, competing is not the same as confronting. Competing is improving, pushing yourself to the limit, not wanting to be left behind.
I still remember what Jurin said when Maya, Chisa and Juria wanted to take dance lesson after being "eliminated", something like "they're not trying hard enough, they're not at our level yet..."
I wish XG could meet you OG. You have so much insight and musical knowledge and more importantly you UNDERSTAND. You’re one of the best reactors and I’m so happy you’re a fan of them so this knowledge can bleed into their discography.
I agree with you to the fullest on everything you said. It’s human nature, when given options or a variety, you naturally find yourself settling into a decision of preference. I struggled with it a lot at the beginning when I first discovered XG but I can confidently say that MAYA is my bias/favorite. I feel like she is the most underrated member that I feel has these random flashes of leadership qualities as well, if you notice she is the one that they main stage and put up front most of the time in the dance routines. She really feels like the only one that could successfully survive in the music industry as a solo. I pray that never happens and hope they stay together forever hahahah BUT….my eye test tells me that MAYA is the sharpest and most versatile member who is arguably in the top 3 of all the categories. I think she’s the 3rd best rapper, the 3rd best dancer and for my ears she could potentially sneak into that 3rd slot ahead of hinata in the singing category 🤷🏽♂️…..but don’t come for me! 😂 that’s just my opinion I naturally root for the underdog and I think Maya sometimes gets overlooked and should be much more appreciated.
really like your reaction videos! My tips for distinguishing between Chisa and Juria is; Chisa has sharper facial features while Juria has softer ones. Chisa has a defined, sharp jawline and more prominent cheekbones and is usually seen without bangs. She also has a sharper gaze. Juria has big round eyes, round-ish nose and soft jawline, and is usually with bangs. She kind of reminds me of Baby spice from Spice girls for some reason lol
Thanks OG, somehow I myself needed to hear that “steel sharpens steel”. If anyone aspires to be great, that’s the mentality. Good critique is always an opportunity to self reflect and evolve. Love XG, they are in their own league. They are artists but also athletes.
Yo Dre, your channel deserves a lot of recognition. Always speaking your mind, like the video reacting to “XG- Hesonoo & X-Gene”, where you explained for 20 minutes something that many respected you for being what you are: an old school giving the opportunity to listen to other groups that sent you, even without identifying yourself, you spoke the truth with the voice of maturity, humility and knowledge when it comes to HipHop/R&B, a big W for that. 🫵🏽 We have similar thoughts on many things, cause I'm going to be 42 years old, and something that I NEVER revealed in another comment (besides being an ex B.Boy) is that I participated in the “Battle of the year 2000”, and I was also watching this time, the Legendary “Freestyle Session 6”, BTW, a shout out to the L.A Breakers 🔥 in other words, since I was a kid I've been breathing and living this culture that I love every day. Finally, and not to diminish others who react extraordinarily well, u bruh, deserve my respect and I hope your channel grows and DESERVES to grow EVEN MORE. Keep being real and this enlightened person. Peace 🫰🏻
On the topic of the soapbox, 100% agreed. Like just because you like or favor one of the members doesn't mean you hate the other members. Like for me, Maya is my bias, she's hands down an ACE. Maya has a velvety singing voice with a bold rap tone, on top of being great on the camera. A lot of the reason why she became my bias was from their XG Days videos. The girls have said before that they don't care about stuff like this. Maya in a blog, mentioned something in the real" I don't care if I'm your bias or your bias wrecker, thank you for supporting us" not verbatim but roughly what I remember her saying. edit: To add to the comment about Harvey, yeah the people on the subreddit have called Harvey the "MSG of XG" because her voice is so unique it draws you in. edit2: Sorry I tend to comment before watching the full video because then my thoughts at the moment will leave me. Anyways, Cocona as well with Hinata and Harvey all all the introverts of the group. She is more so than the others. In most of the videos she's seen fitting herself into closed spaces. One of the girls, I think it was Jurin, asked her "You like cramp spaces don't you? Cocona said "Yeah, it makes me safe." Cocona also carries/carried a big bowser backback and she would normal put it on her lap, makes her safe she says. I know you've said you're trying to go through all of their M/V and such but I would recommend watching some of their XG Days and XTRAs videos, it'll give you a better idea of how they are as a group.
the reason cocona cut her hair is mainly because she likes certain kind of buzz cut when she was young already and she wants to try it at certain points in her career and Simon (XGALX CEO) finally approved it during Woke Up ...
Always good points about dialog and about the girls' strengths, but you can say that LOUD about the importance of Cocona's confidence in action. So young and already a real role model for demanding to be seen and valued on her own terms. It's needed everywhere, and extra important in an industry that's so restrictive of women's image and sound
I think it's interesting that your comments around 14:00 about needing to compete to get better echoes something that their producer, Simon, said during their training in the X2 episode of the documentary: (English translation from the transcript) "We did this to enhance their competitive spirit and professional mindset to create the best possible work, and to strive for the top. It was about their strong determination and professionalism to produce results, and we wanted to reinforce these aspects ... Another aspect is that the process of going from trainee to debut can become a positive form of competition between each other. In other words, they must compete and work hard together in order to improve. I thought this approach would help them to engrave the positive aspects of this process in their hearts."
The girls themselves have talked about how they are motivated by each other and appreciate the "tough love" they sometimes receive from their fellow members because they all want to be the best and better themselves and their craft! After all they've been through together they have some tough skin to go alongside their passion 💗
I love the polls because its fun to see how our bias matches up with others, but its quite something different to assert that only two members are indispensable to the group and brand. Remember that 100's of thousands of girls fought for a spot on XG but Simon chose only THESE specific girls for a reason and put them together. How short-visioned to suggest that the group would not be who they are if Coco or Harvey weren't there! In a way you're absolutely right but also dead wrong in that XG wouldn't be who they are if ANY of these women were not there. And I stand on that. TOGETHER they form what is uniquely XG which they reiterate repeatedly in their rap and song performances. So, please don't downplay Maya's aggressive lyricism and top tier vocals, nor Jurin's bad-ass boss energy, Chisa's unmatched angelic vocals, Hinata's quirky diva vibe, and Juria's mesmerizing harmonies. And that's not even speaking to their unique personalities that make XG exclusively XG and not Black Pink. I've agreed with you 100% in your hot takes up until now, but am a bit disappointed that you're suddenly displaying a limiting Western mindset--confusing your bias with exclusive indispensability. Still love ya . . . but let's get to the #4 mixtapes and vox's and THEN tell me if you still think only two of these women are indispensable! ❤
Don't worry, OG. We real ones know what type of time you on. I enjoyed this. 13:40 That's Proverbs 27 verse 17 "Just as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens the face of his companion." Knowing what type of OG you are, my request for a reaction video is XG In The Rain [Color Coded_Eng]. The channel is called ShadowByYoongi. I'm not gonna spoil anything, but it might be more for people of our age bracket. ...and possibly our level of melanin. 🤭
Before you even finish the soap box comment, I was typing soap box away bro, thats why I am here. Btw I love them all in different ways...juria and hinata getting more opportunities is shooting them up the rankings to level up to others
You are right my guy. They’re are professional and this group of gals along with the wisdom and leadership of Simon. Don’t worry my ALPHAZ they’re going to be family forever.
In fact, I highly agree with your view that Harvy and Coco are not accessible for combination. I have often noticed that in many songs by XG, the parts sung by Harvy and Coco are combined. This is because their vocal frequencies are basically at the highest and lowest in the song. Combining their voices together makes the listeners suddenly detach from the emotion of the song and realize, 'I am listening to these girls sing.' Once again, I admire your insight👍
On your Soapbox "rant" - 💯💯, nothing but facts OG. I don't understand why some fans get bent out of shape when people compare the girls or pick favorites. I have trouble naming a bias and I have to split it into rap line and vocal line because the Cadence Queen Maya is my girl but god damn Chisa can make my soul leave my body sometimes with her vocals. At the same time, Cocona is beast, Juria can sing her ass off, I love Harvey's unique voice, Jurin is a boss and a phenomenal dancer, and Hinata makes me feel like a proud dad everytime I see her shine because I know she had a slow start due to shyness and a lack of confidence when they debuted. Maya and Chisa are my favorites though. I'm an 80s baby, 90s kid - I loved Wu Tang growing up. When I say Method Man was my favorite, that doesn't mean I thought Raekwon or Ghostface were bad. I just liked Meth the most. Oh and speaking on your point about competition breeding greatness - you're right about them having to compete for these spots. And early on Maya, Chisa, and Juria damn near got cut. They were in the bottom 5 out of 15 girls. Simon was really hard on them and open about how he felt they were way behind all the other girls there. Now look at them. Oh and I'll wrap up saying I love this track. By far my favorite outside the dedicated Hip-Hop tracks like Howling, Woke-Up, and the Tapes. It's such a vibe and dripping old school R&B/Hip-Hop influence. I could easily see this same song being released line-for-line and beat-for-beat by a TLC, Destiny's Child, SWV, etc 20 years ago.
There is nothing wrong with polls, I think it's good to see who is more popular with in the Fandom. I love them all, but I am Maya biased, her rap in Woke Up what's next level 🔥🔥🔥
Cocona has probably wanted to cut off her hair for some time. She turned 18 shortly before the video shoot and was able to incorporate this wonderfully
Each one of these girls has been my “bias” before. It constantly changes for me. They are all incredible CLEARLY but sometimes some may shine more than others. It is what it is. I’m subscribed to you because I enjoy hearing your reaction, opinions and commentary on XG. If people are TRULY watching your reactions of these extraordinary girls, they would know that you take notice, point out and praise each and every one of them damn near every single one of your videos. Keep on staying on your soap box, you’re a genuine and honest dude. So just keep doing what you’re doing. Your channel is hands down my favorite reaction channel. Hope to keep seeing more XG content from you! 😊
It's one thing to ask "Who is the worst..." at something. That would be mean and divisive. Saying who you think is the best is not. And being in a highly performing team, they very likely have their own opinions about who is the best at a particular thing. They know. That gives them their own motivations, to be inspired by each other and use each others' strengths. The team is full of winners, and we all know and love it. But I'm still going to have my subjective and objective views on what they all can do. Thanks for treating them all like the professionals they are!
I'm 35. I may not be exactly where you are as an OG, but i completely understand where you come from. My favorites differ from song to song constantly. Everyone in XG shines differently based on what song you judge them on. There's no problem whatsoever with ranking them from time to time. For instance, Harvey is my bias. There's songs where she's the absolute weakest in the lineup and then there are songs where i feel like she makes the song. People have to learn how to separate their bias for the group and members and realise that having an opinion doesn't automatically mean you're hating on anyone else in the group.😮
You’re completely right about the girls being professional and putting in the work when someone else ranks higher than them. If you ever get around to the documentary, you’ll see Simon put them through a ranking system to determine who gets to move forward towards debuting and who gets chopped and he would rank them in front of the whole group so all the girls in the training cohort could see where they were at and adjust accordingly to work hard if they wanted to debut. And in fact, chisa, juria and maya were actually on the chopping block a few times, but clearly they didn’t let that get to them, and worked their butts off cause here they are, the official members of XG. And they’ve improved consistently since they’ve debuted up to present time. These girls have put their mind to it and have impeccable work ethic. When I watched something ain’t right, I noticed even juria carrying herself with so much more confidence than ever before, which was amazing to see. The other 4 girls as well, the entire team is hard working and professional as hell. Hence I love them ❤❤❤❤❤❤ thanks for also seeing their work ethic and their efforts OG!
Your 100% correct. It's sad we have people in the fandom who feel the need to hyper defend young adult women who have thicker skin than most of us. It's not like anything negative was said anyway. I do think people who didn't grow up around sports or are not fans of sports tend to view competition as a negative thing. When theRE are different types of competition. Sure, your main competition may be the other teams or groups. But it is normal to have healthy competition within your own team, which only helps you grow more, and can even bring you closer to those people.
Love your reaction as usual. You’re the best reactor I’ve seen so far. You have the most authentic reaction and an unbiased opinion. From my other comment of your other XG reaction I said you’re the only reactor who articulately conveys the difference between kpop & XG.. and you still got it. Thank you!
Culturally, Japan is about the collective. That's why when someone is sick, THEY wear a mask bc they don't want to get someone else sick. They look at you weird if you don't wear a mask when you are sick bc it's about looking after others. Them being Japanese, culturally, they are for the team. Individualism is strictly a western idea. With that said, you can have a bias and poll to see who likes who. It's just stats. Just don't make is about "who is better" bc fandom will argue like nah, my bias is better. But really, it's just an opinion at the end of the day and that's why the US is backwards to me sometime. Ppl should look out for each other more instead of pitting one against another - not saying YOU are specifically. I'm just speak in general terms. And that's why XG "do it for the team" = bc it takes everyone (including all staffs getting their lunch to labels CEOs) to let them be able to what they do -throwback to that collective mentality. Plus, the Japanese are humble and they know it's no just about them.
I 100% agree w you about the who’s better argument. I played baseball and when someone said another teammate might be better, I got better. Maya is an example . She was on the point of elimination and instead of giving up she practiced and made it ! She is an example of how resilient this group is
First, completely agree with your rant/soap box. I've gotten their ire often enough. But just a little context, the kpop industry and its fandoms can be pretty rough... to the point that many kpop idols have committed suicide because of the difficulties they've had dealing with hate comments. That said, I think many of those trying to be protective of these idols are not able to distinguish hateful comments from legitimate discussions on preferences, skill, or talent. That or they're GenZ'ers who grew up getting trophies for participation - something you nor I grew up with - and feel like if you're not constantly praising everyone they're gonna feel too bad about themselves. Nothing what you've said, nor the polls were hateful whatsoever. It's human nature to compare, and it's interesting to hear other people perspectives.
We have the funny uncle who shares some BS stories just to make us laugh (Uncle Ray), and now we have an uncle who gives us wisdom and motivation (Uncle OG) haha.
OG you talk a lot of sense 😊. I can’t wait for you to get to the tapes and vox. 🐺🐺. Btw Chisa with the orange hair in this one. It was Juria hitting the note 😊.
It's human nature to have a favorite. Making an argument that it somehow hurts the group or divides us is just immature. Having a favorite in no way diminishes the others. All Alphaz's believe that XG is the best, and that is really all that matters. They're all equally talented ! Dre, you keep doing you. Someone might learn something. Besides, it's not like they hadn't aleady seen the video multiple times. After the first viewing, it's all about the reactors anyway.
Cocona always wanted a buzzcut and convinced their team it will go well with this comeback. It is definitely more than just a haircut, it's a statement about XG. We do our own thing as artists and women and are proud of who we are. Best message for girls, like you said, for sure!
Bro, I get your soap box, but you answered your own question with your comments about Maya when she came on. I get your sports analogy, but the difference is that these girls are so close that it’s just splitting hairs at that point and depending on what video you watch your biases change every time you think you know your bias you watch another video and it changes. I’ve been watching these girls for a year and a half and all I can tell you is that Hinata is consistently not my bias. I’m completely lost when it comes to the rest of them, but all it’s gonna take is Hinata to be the highlight of the next video and all that can change. This is what makes them so special. My last point is, like me, other ALPHAZ need to have a little patience with your opinions because until you’ve watched the tapes and their documentary, only then will you will better understand why we feel the way we do. Because you haven’t, I don’t discount your opinion, but I take it with a grain of salt. No disrespect I just think you need to go further down this road and other ALPHAZ need to have thicker skin and or have more confidence in these girls. As far as I’m concerned, these girls could stop right now and I could listen to their catalog and be happy with it. I do understand the concern of other ALPHAZ, these girls care for each other deeply and it’s not competitive for them individually, but they do hold each other accountable, and you can see it in the documentary. But they’re gonna do it together without destroying each other. I think this is why when a solo artist in the states gets hyped up and thinks they don’t need the other pieces of the group they go solo and the others fall to the wayside. We don’t want that. In your example of the Jackson 5, it’s not an accurate example because the other four in the Jackson 5 can’t touch Micheal, never could. Not even close. These girls are closer to each other than that in skill and in the case of Maya she’s probably the one that’s grown the most in all areas. Switching over to Harvey, when this group started, people were hating on Harvey’s voice, and I have to give credit to Simon for his vision to see Harvey’s voice be such a force in this group that now you can’t imagine her not being in this group. You were right 100% on that. Each one of these people in this group would be the best person in any other group. Simon took a group of prodigies and made a super group out of them. They’re so successful at everything that I don’t think they know how to not be successful anymore. I don’t think they know how to fail at anything anymore. They don’t know how to be mediocre. 60% of people can say that Chisa is the best singer, but it’s only by the slimmest of margins over Juria. It’s like saying this car with 500 hp is not as good as this car with 505 hp. Anyway, I could go on, but I feel like I’m rambling and I’m typing this on my phone in my car. I will continue to look forward to your videos, I do enjoy your reactions and your opinions and your soap boxes. So keep it up and we true ALPHAZ will be here to watch. Peace
Hope you are feeling better. This was my jam for the summer. This showed their versatility as artists being released after the rap heavy Woke Up. After watching their two TV shows, I got the feeling that Cocona was one of the more mature members, even though she's the youngest of the group. But gotta love them all, they are all a bunch of goofballs
I went to go see XG in Japan when me and my wife where there (she’s Japanese from Japan) she said everyone there will have made a fan 🪭 with their favorite member on it so it’s funny that person wrote that comment saying we shouldn’t vote on it when it’s just natural to always gravitate towards someone more. It doesn’t take away from the group at all and how amazing they are.
love these soapbox talks. i agree with everything you’re saying here. at this level of talent it comes down to iron sharpening iron right? a high tide rises all boats and that’s what makes them stand out. it’s okay to have preferences OG. Kpop or Xpop is new to me but i’m finding that there is a weird fandom ideology when it comes to these groups.
I don’t get involved in the online fandom beefs personally but people need to realise that these girls will one day venture off on their own and persue solo careers and that’s when the comparing between each other will really pop off lol. OG keep doing your thing man
Yo bro, loved the soap box and everything you presented. I love the entire group but of course you ascertain who is better at what. I am definitely partial to Cocona, Jurin and as you said, Maya has grown on me a lot!! She is awesome. So I definitely can see your point of view on Cocona and Harvey but I would ask you to watch their documentary. The way Simon took that huge group of talented girls and came out with 7 is absolutely amazing. And the main thing I see in that is the chemistry. XG’s chemistry is on 6000. If you replace any of them the whole thing is totally different. Simon had a vision for that chemistry and he hit it on the head. And I am sure you can understand what a high level of chemistry does for a group since you are a Celtics fan.
The reason one commentor described XG as hesonoo is because that word is Japanese for umbilical cord. They are in a sense born together by a single umbilical cord.
You need to listen to In the rain and It’s this love, you will definitely love them, they are the two songs from the latest album that don’t have videos which is a travesty, my favorite two songs from the album. I’m in my 40’s and the nostalgia was big!!
Wait til you get into the Docos OG you will get to know each of their personalities. COCO 150% turns this swag on when she’s on camera and the music comes on its fucking Insane! And what she stands for too is just 🔥🔥 all of them really. But you can’t not realise that without these two girls they are just another girl group! You anticipate these girls sound in each song. That’s my opinion on them but when it comes to each as a bias for me Jurin hands down! That’s me coming from a dance background though and the way she HITS a beat is 🤌🫠
OG, if you ever decide to watch the documentary, even in private, maybe you can understand a little bit of the intensity of these comments you read, given the pretty tough process these girls had to go through to be where they are and they certainly had to compete among hundreds of girls who were reduced to about thirty in the final stage of the project, a moment where the competition was even fiercer if between them, but more with themselves, making comments such as "this is all I can achieve." "" Maybe this is my limit "" I am aware of my shortcomings and I know I have to correct it, I just don't know how to do it," the girls were told that the process would be lonely and quite difficult. They were taught how to keep a cool head in negative situations, my point is that some will tend to be a bit overprotective even when the members don't even know about it.
Absolutely agree with what you said about Harvey and Cocona, they are all XG and bring their own thing that makes the group complete but I totally understand what you meant with being indispensable and them having that special thing you can’t reproduce. I love these girls with my whole heart and hope they have a long career.
The smile on your face as soon as they come on says it all, no need to explain yourself OG 🐺

Really? Was it that obvious?
@@OGReacts-w2o yes, but it's ok. You are not the only reactor who got that smile when they come on.
😂
Cocona is super shy and a total sweetheart.
But she gets on stage and unleashes the beast!
When you see XG as different flavors... Harvey is the extra kick
So lovely to hear your “father”perspective! I believe that's what Simon loves to hear!
💯
HARVEY IS THE IT FACTOR IDC WHAT PPL SAY...THERES A REASON WHY SHES 1 OF THE OFFICIAL "MAIN" RAPPERS
in fact this group has something called "space meeting" where the seven girls sit down to talk and express what bothers them and would like to change, as well as receive feedback on what they have to individually attack both vocals, rap and dance, These girls communicate with each other like no other GG in the business and that infinitely harmonizes the dynamics within the group because they know exactly what each one thinks.
"Steel sharpens steel." So true OG especially for XG. Some songs just shine the light on specific members just because of the tone that fits it. SAR is definitely heavy on Maya and Juria (who hit that note in the car). And definitely Harvey gave it that splash of color
The wisdom OG is so valuable. These soapbox segments are great!
In my opinion, referring to the 4 rappers in the group, I feel this:
Cocona brings the swag
Harvey brings the flow changes
Jurin brings the bars
Maya brings the aggressiveness
I'm sorry for my English since I'm Latino and I've always been a fan of hip hop culture
Maya the Ace continues to win more hearts ❤ and I tend to reminisce that once upon a time, Maya was a "Group C" member during training and almost got eliminated several times 😅
Shes definitely the comeback kid!
Again, you are on point. I love this group but we all have our preferences. That doesn’t make anyone lower than the other. Thank you for your thought.
There is a “philosophy” of sorts in Japan that everyone has three hearts or “faces.”
The public face: The face a person shows to the world
The inner circle face: The face a person shows to close friends and family
The hidden depths face: The face a person keeps hidden, which contains their dreams, fears, and unspoken truths.
In every XG video where concerts are shown, there are ALWAYS fans who support a particular member. So keep doing your polls.
ALPHAZ ON DECK 🐺🐺🐺
you are correct with the healthy competition take, if one watched XG's documentary, you can see they value alot on both team / family bonding among the members and healthy competition between them, it's one of the most amazing things about XG and how they are different from other idol groups is their bonding but also having top level ambitions, pushing and supporting each other to be the best... most other group may have the competition but don't have the bond so their relationship is not as strong and won't be able to push beyond their limits...
Love how OG called out these weird ass Stan’s telling him not to compare the members lmao😂
Well said Jackie!
Having an opinion on who is the best or who you connect with the most is a testament to the individuality of each girl.
Thats so true. People are entitled to their opinion and honestly its totally okay to have a favorite! Its just called having a bias in a group :)
Ah man, thanks for the compliment. I appreciate you.
Love your love for Maya!
really like your reaction videos!
Peace 🫰🏻
Ah man, thank you for even taking the time to share that part of yourself. I’m honored to have you eyes and ears.

いつかライブのソロパフォーマンスも聞いて欲しいです。
Bro.. the girls themselves have answered such poll questions on many Korean TV shows. I dont know why some fans get bent. I enjoy the polls 👽 🐺
I was about to say this before I saw your comment.
Always good points about dialog and about the girls' strengths, but you can say that LOUD about the importance of Cocona's confidence in action. So young and already a real role model for demanding to be seen and valued on her own terms. It's needed everywhere, and extra important in an industry that's so restrictive of women's image and sound
Well said!
I think the XG juice has had an inebriating impact on your reasoning.
Don't worry, OG. We real ones know what type of time you on. I enjoyed this.
13:40 That's Proverbs 27 verse 17 "Just as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens the face of his companion."
Knowing what type of OG you are, my request for a reaction video is XG In The Rain [Color Coded_Eng].
What's crazy is, well not crazy because she's my bias, Harvey wins as the favorite of the group according to the XG fanpage poll.
Harvey unique voice is a gift from God
I think it will get more attention from now on.
Her low tone vocals are the best.🔥
It's one thing to ask "Who is the worst..." at something. That would be mean and divisive. Saying who you think is the best is not. And being in a highly performing team, they very likely have their own opinions about who is the best at a particular thing. They know. That gives them their own motivations, to be inspired by each other and use each others' strengths. The team is full of winners, and we all know and love it. But I'm still going to have my subjective and objective views on what they all can do. Thanks for treating them all like the professionals they are!
Don’t even trip off these comments, OG. They’re too brain-poisoned by fandom bullshit. They’ve forgotten how normal people think and behave.

Excellent Soap Box conversation/reaction. Perfect. 👍💯
Appreciate that
I seen ALPHAZ in other countries and live from Houston,TX that were had their favorite XG member!
People have to learn how to separate their bias for the group and members and realise that having an opinion doesn't automatically mean you're hating on anyone else in the group.😮
really looking forward to you watching "two tens" with maya and harvey... maya will definitely become your fav and harvey moves up the chart too!
I agree with your soap box discussion. Great reaction again🙌🏾🙌🏾
Thank you!!
A thing I've noticed about em is that, whether they may be upfront or in the background , not one of them is slackin.,
You’re completely right about the girls being professional and putting in the work when someone else ranks higher than them.
My point exactly! Thank you.
ALPHAZ ON DECK
This is Jurias song for sure. After the bridge she just riffing her ass off and it's beautiful.
Love your reaction as usual. You’re the best reactor I’ve seen so far. You have the most authentic reaction and an unbiased opinion. From my other comment of your other XG reaction I said you’re the only reactor who articulately conveys the difference between kpop & XG.. and you still got it. Thank you!
Wow, thank you
@@OGReacts-w2o It’s a pleasure watching you react
She is an example of how resilient this group is
Love it
I agree w everything you said.
Thank you OGIlike your teasing
Thanks for that!
Just keep doing ma brother OG.. i like it 👍😊
Thank you, I will
I can imagine them competing with each other, and that's how they became a team.
We have the funny uncle who shares some BS stories just to make us laugh (Uncle Ray), and now we have an uncle who gives us wisdom and motivation (Uncle OG) haha.
They are encasing their powers and abilities in this video
One of the things Simon liked best about Harvey is her voice
You nail it every time!
Peace
Please see the documentary!!! You will appreciate them even more!
Thanks for putting my comment in 😂 just keeping it real

Hope you are feeling better. This was my jam for the summer. This showed their versatility as artists being released after the rap heavy Woke Up.
After watching their two TV shows, I got the feeling that Cocona was one of the more mature members, even though she's the youngest of the group. But gotta love them all, they are all a bunch of goofballs
It's your channel OG. Poll how you want. I enjoy the "OG Soap Box" portions. Nobody is forced to be here. Great content Sir! ✌🏼
#ALPHAZ on Deck! 🐺
Glad your feeling and getting better sir
Much appreciated
Glad you are starting to feel batter, love the reaction and I enjoy the soapbox, keep up the good work. and love XG🐺🐺🐺
you are right every team or group they will always someone who need to step up to take to the next level their journey🔥🤘
love these soapbox talks. i agree with everything you’re saying here. at this level of talent it comes down to iron sharpening iron right? a high tide rises all boats and that’s what makes them stand out. it’s okay to have preferences OG.
First ALPHAZ! Let’s go! Watching now.
