I Am not an instrumental player but i thought i would watch a video of just instrumental with this song and you gave me an interesting idea. I like to write poems and songs but i only created one actual song because i was lucky to have a best friend that new how to play piano(sadly video not on youtube it on her facebook) and so i wrote a song recently and i thought the music in this song mixed with music of what about now by daughtry could make a song i wrote more interesting.
@lhizziey tuners work well, i guess you could find one online, but they usually suck, so if your not sure how to tune back to standard properly, investing in a tuner is a good idea, theyre old like 10-20$ for a good one
at the end of the video, a standard tuning version is shown how to play. it's not possible to play the same notes, and the lower pitched notes of this song without tuning it to the way the lesson shows. thanks for watching!.

@ddrummond87 did you know that Goo Goo Dolls tune their guitars different for just about every song? Andy Mckee, Justin King, Jars of Clay, Skillet, Red, all tune their guitars differently for songs. This is exactly the way you play this song. Changing tunings does not make anything easier or weak, it simply changes the way the instrument sounds. this song is in the tuning of an open C chord which makes the guitar much lower, this is the only way to play the song correctly. thanks.

To everyone worried about tuning, the ending bit where he's just strumming chords is in standard tuning.

How are you people worried about breaking strings by tuning to this song? You're tuning DOWN.

Well, maybe you should take your time tuning it back. I've never broken a string by tuning up from a down-tuning.
If you tune your guitar up it will break the string. Plus, strings usually can be tuned up about a few steps higher before breaking, which is a lot.

when you tune DOWN, you are taking tension off the string, so when you tune UP to standard tuning, you could stretch it out too far and break a string

@calvinthao Use an electric tuner or type in "tune your guitar" on youtube and just match it up with the video to your guitar, that easy.
