⬇️ Having a Calamigos Ranch Wedding in Malibu ⬇️
The Birchwood Room is one of my favorite rooms in Calamigos Ranch to DJ because of the intimate setting and vibes. It's the only place in the venue where you can enjoy a delicious dinner on the private outdoor patios. It's also a venue where guests experience the most time outdoors compared to the other room locations at Calamigos Ranch. At this particular venue, guests are well shaded, surrounded by lush greenery, and experience plenty of natural light.

On this special day for Christine & Allen, I provided my full DJ service, including their ceremony, cocktail, and reception. The ceremony area took place on the lower lawn by the soothing waterfall. I provided sound, music, and a microphone so guests could hear the wedding ceremony and celebrate with the happy couple. I used one RCF HD10 speaker, which covered the whole ceremony space with clear audio. Since you can hear the natural waterfalls in the background, the microphone audio needs to be clear, especially at this particular ceremony spot, to cut through the noise. After the officiant pronounced them for the first time as husband and wife, guests cheered, and we proceeded with the cocktail hour near the ceremony site.
The cocktail hour happened, and guests enjoyed taking amazing wedding photos, especially during these summer sunsets. I continued playing music to set the tone in this beautiful area.
After the cocktail hour, we continued Christine & Allen's love story to the reception area on the patio deck. The reception room was adjacent to the patio, with the bar, dance floor, DJ, and photo booth. I provided full sound coverage to ensure that the indoor and outdoor areas sound good for all special moments such as the grand entrance, first dance, speeches, parent dances, etc. I also provided my uplights and dance lights to surround the event space with color and liveliness.
⬇️ How the Wedding Night Progressed ⬇️
To kick off the reception, I invited everyone to stand around the dance floor as we welcomed our wedding party for the grand entrance. First, I played "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" to introduce the bridesmaids, then played "Who Let the Dogs Out" for the groomsmen. Next, Allen and Christine walked into "Me Too" by Meghan Trainor. Shortly right after, they had their choreographed First Dance and even had the bridal party involved! It was the best time! Then Allen and Christine gave their welcome/thank you speech before guests found their seats for the dinner service.
I enjoyed moments like this because it got the energy going for everyone and elevated the guest experience early in the night. Then, we continued the night with dinner, speeches, cutting of the wedding cake, open dancing, and ended the night with a send-off using no-mess party poppers!

I received some great compliments from the wedding guests who traveled out of town to be there that night. Everything went smoothly, and everyone had a great time celebrating with Christine & Allen.

This wedding venue fours four different locations to host your big day: The Oaks Room, The Redwood Room, North Pavilion, and The Birchwood Room.
Out of all the surrounding areas, the Birchwood Room is the most intimate location that has beautiful greenery, crystal chandeliers, twinkle lights, and an intimate dining room area on the patio.
However, the Birchwood Room may have a maximum occupancy because of the limited space, so please check in with them first to see if they can accommodate your guest count.
Otherwise, this is a gorgeous wedding space to hold your evening affairs.
