@@SickOfthislol-ip9gh while i agree for the most part the coddling and all goes overboard many times: but there are times when a little patience and maybe a small amount of coddling can work in your favor as a cop, if it means de-escalating a situation, or handling a situation in a way that can make an arrest avoidable, that means we get to go home and not spend 2+ hours doing paperwork, going into court and waiting, plus more paperwork, them taking up space and resources at the jails ad the courts' time, and so on; but yes, it does go overboard with the coddling, but here is a time and place for it for certain situations, this one however? no, i would have arrested him after giving him a few chances to go sleep it off, or call someone to pick him up especially since he was making attempts at being combative you know, since the initial call was about him challenging people to fight and all.

@scottmichaels6854 That's why I always found more creative ways of disciplining my troops when I was in the Air Force. Paperwork is time consuming and doesn't always work. But you start messing with their off duty time, they straighten up and fly right. I would voluntold them for all kinds of weekend details. It always worked.

And waste even more time and jail space? Why? A lot of paperwork is involved when you bring someone in for any reason lol

It's very tough working with cowards and slack-asses.
I’m a police officer in western germany… and while patience is an important quality for an officer (especially when dealing with drunk people) I think this was taking it way too far. If someone doesn’t understand or follow my commands the 10th time around, I don’t try to tell them another 10 times. Especially when they’re repeatedly challenging me to a fight. It‘s a waste of time, energy and ressources and it doesn’t make for a good representation of consequential police work.
Yeah but this is the USA where they either give you too many chances or zero chances. They’re mainly corrupt but those that aren’t try to be overly friendly. Our system is fcked dude.
Yea these cops were pissing me off. What a waste of time and resources. Garbage policing in this video.

@@scottmichaels12the paperwork would be less involved than this whole interaction.
@@scottmichaels12any other color and he would have went to jail! Let’s call it what it is. Cops don’t give a dayum about taking nobody to jail. That’s how they get promoted and recognized, arrest rates.
