I think I love this comic. With Steven hating his mother and trying to avoid her, this comic is what should have happened to help Steven understand his connection with Pink better.

You have to remember while Pink was the odd ball in the Diamond authority, she was taught to treat her subjects as play things. She wasn’t Rose when she left Spinel. She was just a growing Diamond that wanted to succeed in her first colony. Same could be said about Spinel not being the same playful friend to Pink.
Spinel’s Rejuvenator reset Steven’s gem, reforming Pink Diamond to what she was before and forgetting who Steven is. That is why she has no memories of her son until she shortly receives the final pieces from him, reverting to a pink gem and saving Steven from dying. TLDR; Spinels Rejuvenator made a factory-reset Pink Diamond.
Granted, though this comic brings up that Pink had to or else she probably wouldn't have been taken seriously as the leader of her colony. Though I don't like the argument as it's basically shifting blame from Pink to the other Diamonds, Pink must be held accountable for her poor decisions, but this is a very real situation that can happen. Some people refuse to grow up, and some people refuse to let those people hold them back.
It wouldn't change anything especially having pink tell swindell to grow up is hypocrite. Not long after she started goofing off and her explanation of why she left is still terrible and have some major potholes. It only reminds us that pink will never take responsibility for anything she done because she the worst example of being childish.

I'm not happy that Pink left Spinel, but i don't hate her. What she did was a mistake yes but i feel this comic depicts Pink's feelings well. She made a mistake and here she admits it. We forgive so many others like the Diamonds because we have seen they are capable of change and want to do better. Pink does not have that chance, she is gone. In a way creating Steven was her redemption, but since Steven isn't her we stay mad at her. If she were still around im sure we'd come to love her as she herself grows and changes. I loved this dub, the voices were spot on, nice job! And the comic is what i wish had happened in the movie. Also very nice use of His Theme.

And I think that saving the lives of fused Gems like Garnet, and defective Gems like Amethyst, and the entire human species and all life on Earth, indicates that she changed at least as much as her world-shattering sisters did. She's gone, so we can't see her except through everyone else's lenses, but they're ALIVE because of her.

Now that I think about it, Stevens powers should have worked better than ever. If the rejuvenator really worked like that then Stevens gem would have reverted back into pink
I feel like this would have been a better finale than what we got. The movie basically destroyed anything positive they were trying to portray in Pink.

I sort of get your point, I do think though that some of the viewers are forgetting that they have likely done the same thing Pink has to someone without even realizing it. Pink isn't and was never perfect, she's a complicated character. I felt bad for Spinel because the same thing has happened to me before. I still think about the person and find myself getting upset but I can't jump on the Pink hate bandwagon because I also stopped talking to people who were close to me, you just start to drift away. I think it's a lot easier for people to jump on the circle jerk though than trying to open their minds up to the whole issue instead of being " OMG GOTTA PROTECT SMOL BABY SPINEL, PINK CANCEL ". Well a least we got some funny memes out of it though lol
The movie ruined her. I loved Pink because she wasn’t perfect as she seemed. She went from a childish diamond to a leader of a rebellion. And yes, she made mistakes but she still cared for others and the earth and that’s what I loved about her. But now, with the new “Spinel thing”, it becomes dificult to defend her. What she did was wrong and there is no denial of it. But I still like Pink( I am one of the onely ones that sill do). The problem is. The show never makes true villains. They are always redeemed. Soo to do that, they need a tragic past to justify their mistakes. THE PROBLEM IS: THEY ALWAYS USE PINK. The planet is in danger? Pinks fault! The gems are sad because of something? Pinks fault! A new evil gem show up? Pinks foult! Seriously, I like redemptions but they really need to keep a true villain in the story.
Oh, because of the rejuvenator. Since if a gem poofed from the rejuvenator, then they will “reset” and would go back to the way they acted or thought when they were originally made. So when Steven got hit by the rejuvenator, his human form took no damage but his gem form did, AKA his mom/pink diamond’s gem, meaning the gem reseted, presenting the pink diamond/ Steven’s mom we first saw in this comic :b
Sadly, there are too many determined to see PinkRose as the villain. They're more willing to see confirmed gemmists(sp?) like Jasper, and the Diamonds be redeemed, than her.
Except it doesn't make sense. Rose giving birth to Steven means the Gem is Steven. No Rose, no Pink, god that was the whole point of Change Your Mind. Ever since episode 1, it always has been Steven inside of his gem. And in this story the rejuvenator resetted the Gem back to Pink, but somehow she had memories of leaving Spinel, but had no idea that Steven is her son? Shouldn't her memories be erased whole?
In my opinion, even if i like this comic, i wouldn't have liked it as a movie's part. Because it gives us a presentation of a mature, grown, responsible and emphatic Pink Diamond. A version of Pink which is not the real one. Pink didn't leave Spinel in the garden because she wasn't fit to stay by her side while running a colony, nor because Pink herself thought she wouldn't have been enough of a "bestfriend" for Spinel. She simply left her in the garden for 6000 years because she was tired of her. It happened with spinel, it happened with the Diamonds, with pearl, with Bismuth, with the crystal gems and with Greg. You might argue in which kind of way she became tired of them (she didn't need or need to be a friend/ some derogatory parenting figures/a gem with strong feeling towards her/an "overpationed comrade"/ gems and to represent a responsible figure anymore), but that doesn't change the point. Pink is a complex character but she did more wrong and selfish things than good thing. So a lot of love for the creator of the comic and the dubber of it, but i'm happy Pink is gone and we have Steven and the final confrontation we got.
this.... this is amazing. I kinda wish this is how it had happened, but I like the canon version too it would've been nice for them to meet each other, and to show the fans that Rose changed from the awful person she was, that she knew and regretted her mistakes

So if Rose was still here, Rose would probably not like you talking about this name. She probably would have teared up and got fed up. In fact that would probably start another war. Stop treating Rose like she isn’t who she is now. If she didn’t wanna be a Diamond that’s her choice and the whole plot of Steven Universe. I made a whole essay for you to understand but you probably think this is just a spoiler and a shitpost. But really I’m just trying to help you understand Rose won’t like what you are saying. What was the point showing her being disregarded and abused by other diamonds? What's the point showing her trying to change? This ruins past progression of her character for the sake of giving the watchers a reason to sympathise with Spinel.

I sort of get your point, I do think though that some of the viewers are forgetting that they have likely done the same thing Pink has to someone without even realizing it. Pink isn't and was never perfect, she's a complicated character. I felt bad for Spinel because the same thing has happened to me before. I still think about the person and find myself getting upset but I can't jump on the Pink hate bandwagon because I also stopped talking to people who were close to me, you just start to drift away. I think it's a lot easier for people to jump on the circle jerk though than trying to open their minds up to the whole issue instead of being " OMG GOTTA PROTECT SMOL BABY SPINEL, PINK CANCEL ". Well a least we got some funny memes out of it though lol
The movie ruined her. I loved Pink because she wasn’t perfect as she seemed. She went from a childish diamond to a leader of a rebellion. And yes, she made mistakes but she still cared for others and the earth and that’s what I loved about her. But now, with the new “Spinel thing”, it becomes dificult to defend her. What she did was wrong and there is no denial of it. But I still like Pink( I am one of the onely ones that sill do).
The problem is. The show never makes true villains. They are always redeemed. Soo to do that, they need a tragic past to justify their mistakes. THE PROBLEM IS: THEY ALWAYS USE PINK.

Oh, because of the rejuvenator. Since if a gem poofed from the rejuvenator, then they will “reset” and would go back to the way they acted or thought when they were originally made. So when Steven got hit by the rejuvenator, his human form took no damage but his gem form did, AKA his mom/pink diamond’s gem, meaning the gem reseted, presenting the pink diamond/ Steven’s mom we first saw in this comic :b

Except it doesn't make sense. Rose giving birth to Steven means the Gem is Steven. No Rose, no Pink, god that was the whole point of Change Your Mind. Ever since episode 1, it always has been Steven inside of his gem. And in this story the rejuvenator resetted the Gem back to Pink, but somehow she had memories of leaving Spinel, but had no idea that Steven is her son? Shouldn't her memories be erased whole?

In my opinion, even if i like this comic, i wouldn't have liked it as a movie's part. Because it gives us a presentation of a mature, grown, responsible and emphatic Pink Diamond. A version of Pink which is not the real one. Pink didn't leave Spinel in the garden because she wasn't fit to stay by her side while running a colony, nor because Pink herself thought she wouldn't have been enough of a "bestfriend" for Spinel. She simply left her in the garden for 6000 years because she was tired of her. It happened with spinel, it happened with the Diamonds, with pearl, with Bismuth, with the crystal gems and with Greg. You might argue in which kind of way she became tired of them (she didn't need or need to be a friend/ some derogatory parenting figures/a gem with strong feeling towards her/an "overpationed comrade"/ gems and to represent a responsible figure anymore), but that doesn't change the point. Pink is a complex character but she did more wrong and selfish things than good thing. So a lot of love for the creator of the comic and the dubber of it, but i'm happy Pink is gone and we have Steven and the final confrontation we got.
THIS ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE!!! If you rejuvenate a gem to how when it was made, then...Pink is back

Think of roses prospective in that tiny gem. And plus basically pink Steven is Rose. She made up the form rose because she didn’t wanna be the tiniest diamond anymore. So if Rose was still here, Rose would probably not like you talking about this name. She probably would have teared up and got fed up. In fact that would probably start another war. Stop treating Rose like she isn’t who she is now. If she didn’t wanna be a Diamond that’s her choice and the whole plot of Steven Universe.
