Greetings from Pessaro. Mirrors can be fixed easier than you so do 't worry about them. Get yourself back to health and enjoy all of those bikes. Just

I know, but its still gutting to damage stuff through my own stupidity. I wish I was in Pesaro enjoying the Italian country side on a bike.

In 1993 I was in Crete and a mate and I hired 2 Kawasaki KLR 250s. On a dirt road, we rounded a corner and a gust of wind knocked us both over. My mate was fine but I tried to save mine from damage (all £400's worth) and ended up with a crushed right knee which required major surgery. Big lesson.
I had a n ablation (wires through a vein in the groin to the heart, electrical current to destroy rogue pathways in the heart etc.) last month. Hopefully successful.
I still love my Guzzi V7 and I started paddle boarding on Saturday.
    All the best Andy.

Ouch 😢 The hydrocele sounds bloody painful. I hope you have fully recovered from that.
It's also sad news about the mirror, but bikes are very fixable

It was very painful but all good now. The Morini mirror was just annoying and avoidable, thank you for your comments it is appreciated

Life can throw you a curve ball every now and again, I had life saving emergency heart surgery and was out of action for nearly six months but now I'm out riding again and feel as good as new. Take care old guy.

You have my sympathy regarding your complications arising from what was termed in the BMW circles a "suicide Sidestand" I had one myself on an airhead twin and it was so far under the head my little legs couldn't push it far enough forwards oftentimes.

Feel better old guy in shed. I must say I really strive to not buy a bike that I will want to sell, or just leave in the corner unused. I do not like the idea of bikes coming and going and always looking for the next which never turns out any better. However I do consider another bike, or a trade, but this is a long slow process, never rushing, and always considering many facets such as comfort, and economy. There are some amazing buys here in the states, second hand Harleys have become affordable, yes I'm talking road kings and electra glide class bikes for under 8k. BMW r-rt another great opportunity. However I do not like huge heavy bikes. However one that remains on my radar is the Moto Guzzi california, but perhaps the Honda cb500x for its comfort, frugality, and less weight fits my goal. But this has been going on for years, and for a long time I considered the klr650 or dr650.

I am feeling much better now thank you, I have a couple of bikes that are keepers then I kind of have bikes that I always wanted to own but am resricted by space. This means I have to switch things around a bit. From the list on your radar it is a very eclectic mix, I'm sure you will enjoy finding the right one for you.

For some reason Californias can still be picked up at bargain prices .. I found one for £2500 up North ,35,000 kms,1997 just had a full service n new rubber and in great condition for her age..up on the train n a 600 mile ride home n never missed a beat. Happy days!
      Good luck 👍
( that was less than two years ago btw)

Suicide sidesteps can be a menace, particularly if you have slight slope, it can roll forward, so I always leave bike in gear.

Sorry to hear about you health issues, not nice but hope you're on the mend now. I had something similar to your issues with the Morini last week with my CB500 but that was down to me forgetting I'd kicked the stand up and the bugger fell on me and I was stuck under it nearly up to my waste so I couldn't lift it to get out from underneath. Fortunately the Wife was in the garden so I had to call her and between us we managed to lift it enough for me to get out. Luckily I'd broken its fall so no damage to the bike and no significant damage to me. That bike has now been sold and last Saturday a BMW R1200GS arrived to join the Bonneville, lots I like about it but it really is a bit of a tractor so whether it stays remains to be seen.

That's a big step from a CB500 to a R1200GS. A couple of my pals have the GS and they really like them. I'm sure you will enjoy the huge miles they can deliver.
