@@alexandervazquez7501 The only reason Shirou wasn't with his Homunculus master during the 3rd Holy Grail War was because he was at the church disposing of Zouken, and then was touched by the Grail and given an extended live like Gilgamesh did in Zero before he even realized that his master was killed. When he went to find her, she was already dead and Darnic took that moment to steal the Grail. If you are blaming him for not being there to protect her, you would be right, but her physical killer was not him, though he has some regrets of not protecting her that is shown when he sees the original Einzbern head who sacrificed herself to become the core of the Grail when he entered the Grail since almost all Homunculus looks exactly like her due to using her code to clone her.
Words cannot describe how much I love this guy. An anti-hero antagonist who ACTUALLY had a plan for the salvation of all humanity, almost succeeded and he even drove away his hatred and revenge for this purpose. Fought with just one arm against Sieg who had so many buffs and plot armor. Such an underrated character.

He's good in the Extra/Extella verse and he's alright in F/GO, but Apocrypha made him incredibly boring and uninteresting. Amakusa's only competition for best boy is Astolfo. I remember thinking he was lame when it was revealed that he wasn't actually related to the original Shirou in any manner but then Amakusa Shirou, in his own right, ended up being such a great character in Apocrypha that I was an an instant fan.
I mean, he does kinda function as Emiya's Fate/Apocrypha counterpart. Even tho Amakusa is not Emiya he is still walking down the path of a hero of justice in his own way. Like, Emiya, he experienced a disaster that made him feel guilty and sinful, and thought he could only atone for his sins by saving everyone. He devoted his life and afterlife into his objective of saving the world. Emiya didn't wish for a world without conflict, he just wanted the people in front of him to not suffer. Amakusa was tired of all the tragedy and decided he needed to bring an end to it all. Amakusa is like a version of Emiya that got so sick of all the suffering he saw play out in front of him again and again, that he decided to end all conflict.
