I definitely relate with you I was not a Mormon but I was definitely in church and I saw all these at our church events and also at our big family gatherings it brings back so many memories thanks for your video
I grew up a Baptist and my aunt and grandmother and mom always made jello salads and my mom makes this pistachio and marshmallow salad, an I absolutely love it!! They are delicious and possibilities are endless and can use sugar free too, the pudding or jello.
I grew up.Baptist in Louisiana. We ate Jello salads ( in fact all of these). I carried those Jello salads forward and my daughter makes them for her family. My west Texas reared husband failed to enjoy them but my grandson likes them.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane Kristie! My grandma made these and "snicker salad" all the time. Basically, snicker salad is cool whip, chopped up granny smith apples and snicker bars. (always appreciate you inputting the ingredients in the drop down box). Instant thumbs up and take care!
Funny!! The lime flavored is my favorite!! It’s really popular here in Hawaii. Maybe because of the pineapple. Mahalo for sharing these salads. Blessings for you and your loved ones. I’m sure mom is so proud that you brought these and shared it from your growing up years!! Aloha from Hawaii Island. Honomu Ward, Hilo Hawaii Stake. 🙏🏽
No part of that is a salad. 😂 In England we have things called trifle, it seems more similar to that. It has fruit, jelly (jello), sponge, cream and custard.
I know it’s not the place to appropriately ask but id love your experiences in LDS and how you left (if you left). Johnny Harris made an amazing video on it and I’d love to hear your perspective on it.
Love you and your channel Kristie!! May we recommend some ideas: 1) Rice krispie treats in bars and just as a wonderful marshmallow and krispie concoction to eat from the bowl 2) Thai sticky rice with peanut sauce/peanut butter chicken satay etc 3) Peanut butter and marshmallow fluff cake 4) Fettucine Alfredo and spinach artichoke dip
I remember my mother making a dessert with a crushed cookies base, the cream but instead of strawberries it would be canned peaches or pineapple! It's delicious 😋 The other recipes I heard of them but never tried! I like how you were honest saying you didn't like the green one 😋 I would love more Mormon recipes!
My Eastern European parents used to make a savoury jello salad (called Aspic) when I was younger; they’d put in meats, cheese, vegetables... it was so weird lol. These sweet versions look 10x more appetizing
@@kristievskitchen ty for favoring my comment and answering me just finished watching I never ate this at home but I remember the buffets use to have this every so often I would eat it for my dessert
Don't forget to bless these salads to nourish and strengthen our bodies! Lol but seriously as a fellow ex Mormon I loved this video. I can totally taste each of these as you make them 😂 Awesome video!
I know I'm nine months late watching this video.....lol.....but in watching this video I'm remembering now my mother making something similar when me and my brother were kids (I'm now 48yrs old and were also not mormon) but with jello pistachio pudding not lime jello and it also had little marshmallows in it and also raisins and I loved it
Loved the recipe. Gotta tell you I'm not a big fan of jello but the strawberry jello cake and the orange jello salad looked good, I'm sorry to say, the lime one not so much. Thanks for sharing your favorite childhood recipes with us!
When you open the can of mandarin oranges and your dog came into the kitchen 🤣🤣🤣 My dog will be fast asleep in the other room and if he hears the can opener, he’s there faster than I can open it!
Never heard of putting lemon juice in green salad. Do not use!!Use can also use cottage cheese instead of cream cheese. More pecans. Pretzel salad looks delicious. Orange salad. Gently fold in Mandrain oranges.Let all set longer.
Mormon cooking series for the win 🥇🥰
🤣🤣

Yummy, Great job Kristie!
I was also born and raised lds!!! 😁 I’m so grateful for it
The raspberry pretzel one is one of my favorites.😍

I’ve always turned my nose up to jello salad, but now I’m inclined to at least make them and try them. Thank you Kristie!!!
Gotta give it a whirl!!

Ohhhh yep!!! We had that too!
That sounds interesting and worth trying. Thank you for sharing 😸🙏
@@samiicat4073 Hope you try it! It was my grandma's justification of trying to get us to eat "salad"... Needless to say, it worked! ;)
Never had a Jello salad in my life. I’m so excited 😆 to try your recipes to see how good 😊 it taste 👅
Do it!!
That raspberry pretzel dessert is AMAZING ✨

The strawberry raspberry one looks the best to me!
It’s a crowd pleaser!
Yum these look so good! Especially the pretzel salad. Perfect for summer cookout desserts!😋
Yes!! It would be perfect for that.
This is what i like about your channel. It´s so versatile and creative :D

🤣🤣🤣 I don’t know why it’s called it either
In the USA ( in the south) these are salads like other fruit salads.
@@sherrelstroot3034 I mean, it’s an American salad that’s for certain! Only Americans would call this one and eat it 😂
Great video have a nice day Kristie keep it up with the good work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Never heard of Jello salads until this video.
As a Mormon this is 100% accurate

As a Brit- i am baffled but also majorly entertained by the concept of ‘jello salad’
It’s definitely something to shock your family with!
@@kristievskitchen if i whip this out for a party my family might faint… worth a shot!😌

Great idea!!
I loved jello salads also my grandma use to make them all the time, ill really have to try the orange jello salad it looked really good.
I loved Jello salad when I was a kid. Great job, Kristie. I would love to see more recipes from your childhood. Hugs:)
omg I bet you could so easily make these with the sugar free jellos!!
I always thought, from the documentaries I watched that Mormon foods were always homemade/ homegrown fresh food. Cool I learned something new 👍🏼
I’m so glad there’s no actual veggies in this jello salad!! 🤣🥗
They do have a recipe that calls for carrots!
Love me a good Mormon hello salad 😂
Also grew up LDS, excellent video... this brought back the feels hahahaha. Also, FUNERAL POTATOES :)

Omggg meat?!? LOL yes I’m sure these do look better!!
Great video thank you for sharing! I’d be interested in low calorie dishes and desserts.
I love these videos!
Where I live jello doesn‘t exist. So to see it made into a salad absolutely blows my mind!😂 I definately want to try it though.
I will be watching ur new video tonight once again ty for posting content

I grew up on that one - green jello with shredded carrots and other salad veggies… but I’m not Mormon and from New Mexico!

use pineapple tidbits in the green jello salad for a better texture!!
I need a Mormon cookbook
I love jello and I used to put fruit in it

🤣🤣🤣🤣🙄🙄🙄🙄 she thinks it’s tuna time
we would use gram crackers instead of pretzels, and its sooooo yummy
I’ve only ever had red or green jello with sliced bananas in it. I can’t get my head around these versions.
This was awesome . Now do they have anything sugar free in that cookbook?
LOL no
@@kristievskitchen lmao ok
When you do the pineapple one instead of using lime Jell-O use pistachio pudding
How much water for the green jello , thank you.
30??? No way!!!!!
Just curious, what is your Nationality or Race?
Yo 🔥🔥🤙🏾
To many hospital stays for me , I will never ever eat jello voluntarily!
🥺🥺

Maybe on the line just leave out the lemon and it might be more like what you like
I wonder why you need so much sugar. There is sugar in the Jello, the cool whio, the pineable juice, etc.
Was this sugar free jello though…. 😂
what the hell it looks gross.
