I want to say THANK YOU! for this video. I dropped my phone 2 days ago into the lake in 30 ft. of water. I hired a diver to recover it and he found it yesterday afternoon.

Phone is back! After 2 days at the bottom of the lake! Works perfectly! You saved some very important photos for me that could not be replaced. I've backed all of them up on Google photos like you suggested.

Hi, I just want to say a massive thank you for your video. My phone was completely submerged in water. I had it in rice for over 48hours but there must have been water inside that the rice couldn't absorb. The phone was working but had zero response on the touch screen. I followed your video with no previous experience in fixing mobile phones and now my phone is all back to normal! So a massive shout out to you, you saved me buying a new phone!

Rice doesn't absorb water. That's why it's a staple food.

@@gjthomas9770 Rice is a TERRIBLE absorbent. It's a staple food all around the world because you can leave rice in a paper bag for years in a humid environment and it doesn't spoil. In boiling water of course it will absorb, which is where the rice myth comes from.

Oh my God! I just jumped into the comments immediately after it worked. My phone was sunk into a huge water pool and its screen was completely not working. This is my first time unscrewing all the screws in my phone and opening it in the same way the video displayed and after all of that my phone started working and feels like new. Excellent repair lesson! It worked for my phone, I dropped it water and quickly picked it up and it was still working ... all but the TS. I opened the back covered per your instructions, and decided to use the hairdryer to continue drying the inside (no water was visible inside). After 5mins and turned it on and the TS was working again! I'd like to send you a token of my appreciation for the time you spent to put this information out there... how do I send it? Venmo?

You have to remove the edging around the saint to get to the antennas. I dropped this exact same phone in water and eventually it stopped getting signal
Okay, my dad has the same phone. He jumped in a pool in Vegas and forgot he had his phone in his pocket. He did put the phone on rice, but the battery swoll up, I have a new one on order. When we plug the phone in to the charger the red light on the phone comes on, but the screen does nothing. Thoughts?

Hello, sir, please forgive me, but seeing your video, and how you approach repairs, made me confident enough to dare asking for your professional opinion. Could you please help me with your opinion, before I present my phone to some parts changer technitian? I have had a Samsung A54 for 3 weeks now, and it"s display looks like this: it has two thin vertical lines (one red and one green) that look to the untrained eye like dead pixel lines and a bunch of thin and thick, dark, horizontal lines, which make it look like an A4 sheet that just came out of a printer that has tainted drums or like a price code. Also the overall colortion is very faint, and the black has a greenesh hue. To me, that looks like a damaged display, or worse, some component on the mother board responsable with graphics. It also has a intermitent flicker. Before looking like this, the light intensity started to flicker and i tried to heat it up with a hair dryer for a few minutes, thinking it must have gotten wet when I tried to clean it with an acohool moistened napkin, allthough, it is supposed to have some water protection( I know, alcohool is not watter, but still, is not like i poored over it) . Also, from time to time, if it gets worer, like if it stays in the sun for a few minutes, the display won"t light up. The touch screen works perfectly, even when it doesn"t light up, it vibrates (as feedback) at the slightest touch. Everything else works perfectly( service, cameras, microphones, speakers, chargher, whireless, gps, etc. Would you say, based on my description that i have a chance salvage it by replacing the screen? Is there a chance that the motherboard is faulty? thank you in avdnce, and congratulations for your content.

Watched the entire video and then at the very end, no signal which is the exact problem my daughters phone has. Everything else works but doesn't recognize the SIM or register on the network. Did you ever get this working?

Hey, There were some splashes of water when I was using the phone and after it restarted I had flikering screen and NO sim card at service 🚫(like that)
Similar issue with mine. First issue was phone said No SIM and had no 5G network connection. then had hard time swiping. Then probably and stupidly I restarted phone to remove and reinsert SIM card...which on reboot caused phone to mess up more and terrible cause more damage...because I did not put it in rice ASAP. when I realized my errors...I wanted to still try to put it in rice anyway, but phone would not turn off and soon the screen was flickering badly, then within minutes went to black. I could not turn phone off.
I still could hear notifications and phone calls coming in, but could not answer or see anything.
Samsung told me to send it in with return lable to service check it. Told me $75...then 2 weeks later said...Up on further inspection cost will be $175...then they said phone will be shipped to me.
Then another week and a half they said Up on further inspection...it will cost $349 to fix it. I asked WTH when will the cost raises stop. And if I could even be sure that in another week I will be told AGAIN "up on further inspection......$$$$ etc etc etc.,
Plus will my files and data be accessible?...she said NO that phone will have to be reset to factory and everything wiped clean.
I told her to close ticket and send phone back.
Ugh...what a waste of time. Plus now my phone definitely has little chance to fix it since they took so long to leave water on internals.
Wish they would have not kept it from me this long...bet I could have saved it by sending it right away to Michel

Hi, I am using A71 5G since 1.5 years.
Now i am getting my phone automatically restarted when my sim signal will enable. If i put my sim card in flight mode or without sim, its working fine. (without fallen down and water)
Otherwise its getting automatically restarted again and again. I have already done the factory reset even its not solved.
Still service center-Dubai informed me to change the mother board its cost of 800 AED. I was purchased this mobile by 1400 AED.

What happens if it got wet from ethyl alcohol?
Alcohol evaporates. Damage to cells on usually occurs when they're turned back on after being in water

I just got one A72, guy was drunk and he wantet to try if its waterproof, so the phone was in bear aroung 5 minuts. WISH ME LUCK HAH
You butchered that repair, you can see the water inside the battery board tab. There was water on top of the battery which meant there was likely water underneath it as well, that should have been pulled and cleaned. The water damage indictor on the top where the sim tray sits is pink too, another thing you missed completely.
You annihilated the foam from the connectors and arrogantly brushed it off as if that's what's supposed to happen 😆. Also, losing screws?!?... beyond amateurish.
The IPA you get from a pharmacy has water and other ingredients in it so pretty useless for electronics.
