Goa (Konkani pronunciation: [gõːj], Portuguese: [go.ɐ] ) is a state on the southwestern coast of India within the Konkan region, geographically separated from the Deccan highlands by the Western Ghats.
It is bound by the Indian states of Maharashtra to the north, and Karnataka to the east and south, with the Arabian Sea in the west. It is India's smallest state by area and fourth-smallest by population. Goa has the highest GDP per capita among all Indian states, two and a half times as high as the GDP per capita of the country as a whole.
The Eleventh Finance Commission of India named Goa the best-placed state because of its infrastructure, and India's National Commission on Population rated it as having the best quality of life in India (based on the commission's "12 Indicators"). It is the second-highest ranking among Indian states in the human development index.
Goa is visited by large numbers of international and domestic tourists each year because of its white-sand beaches, active nightlife, places of worship, and World Heritage-listed architecture. It also has rich flora and fauna because it lies very close to the North Western Ghats rainforests, one of the rare biodiversity hotspots of the world.

You should always ask your villa owners to offer you the local food at extra cost, these restaurants are commercial so the food will be likewise, but there are some homes who serve home cooked food to the outsiders.

The sugarcane man was wrong, coins do work everywhere it is authorized currency. However you should carry small change to keep away from cheats. But sugarcane juice was expensive, our Mumbai it cost quite less.
If only people were honest and do their job right others wouldn’t worry about carrying small changes and also we had small change as well. The problem is some people think they are more clever than other
You need to put the bowls on the table to create space on your plate & then mix the different curries etc with the rice nicely as per your taste & eat. Enjoy your stay

Goa and Karnataka don’t accept 10 rupees coins, they consider it non tradable. It will be accepted in west and north India. Goa is tourist season from Nov to Feb and most people want to make most of it. You’ll get ripped or be smart 😂

Due to depreciation of currency Rs 10 paper notes have been discontinued and these 10 rs coins have been released. Now being new some ignorants dont accept and also its bit bulky that's another reason. Third touristy places have their own attitude.

I enjoyed your company Kay and Gogo. I have never seen the outskirts of Goa but got to see it from your eyes. I have only been to Panjim. Goa has locally made liquor called Fenee" you can try that too. Also Goa has long coast line so you will get to eat lots of sea food, just check with local people for best places to eat I am sure you will love goan seafood. Nice to see Gogo nicely rides a bike on Indian roads

Hello From Warm Sunny Goa, So the Anjuna flea market is usually operational on wednesday only but you can go to the tibetan market at anjuna or vagator they are mostly the ones who sell their goods at the flea market. Western Tourist like yourself definitely get ripped off so be smart and bargain. Food is usually expensive around the coastal belt especially beach shacks. Your Goan fish thali is not typical goan. The King fish doesn't look fresh. If it was it would be tender break of instantly you picked it up off the thali. The white waterry item in the small silver bowl is yogurt raita. It has to be kokum water. You have been cheated on that Fish Thali sadly. My honest advice avoid eating at those beach snacks. When you decide to travel to South Goa, pls come be my guest and let me treat you to a typical goan fish thali 🙂

50 Rs for that sugarcane juice is expensive ... other cities price is about half that (Rs 20-25). But Goa being an overly touristy place where everything (except alcohol) is priced higher, I guess that price can be justified.

The sugarcane seller was within his right not to accept coin as some part of India doesn't accept coin....he was just following the rules...10Rs are nothing for someone like him who can make good money every day by doing good business...now it's about time people should change there opinion about India as we are the third largest economy in the world and growing rapidly faster
