We've had lots of problems lately with Yamahas, especially with cracking engine blocks (3 in our group), and supercharger clutch failures. The BRP engines have been rock solid since 2003, and their superchargers since 2008. The new 1630 ACE engines seem great. Thanks for your comment.

There is no easy way to turn the motor by hand especially if you think it's stuck. I would remove the pump and driveshaft then use a small impeller removal tool in the PTO to try and turn it over. While the pump is out you can check if the pump bearing is good and the pump is not seized which would stop the motor turning over. Good Luck

The head and main bolts need new replacements correct? And where do you find a good manual for doing a rebuild? I'm getting ready to do my 185. Thanks I'm glad I found your videos
Essentially all of the stretch bolts need to be replaced. Normally, they can be purchased as a kit. Unfortunately, it’s very difficult (and expensive) to get a Service Manual through your Sea-Doo dealer, but there are places online where you may be able to download a copy for your machine. We can’t vouch for the sites or manuals being virus-free, but here’s a site to check out: seadoomanuals.net. Good luck.
hello 3ftDeep ! you only recommend buy OEM supercharger rebuild kit ? what you think about WSM kit ? maybe you know more aftermarket but good quality and lowest price rebuild kits ?
I only buy OEM parts for critical components like bearings and other components in high-stress situations. The manufacturer usually knows what the system needs to function properly.
I just finished 3ft deep inspired rebuild on a 2004 RXP that had a broken valve that ruined the head assy and piston. All went well (after I figured out the Ft lb vs Ft lb in...Whiskey) Starts up great, sounds good have a hose hooked to it. I take it to the lake and right off the bat it starts beeping oil at me. I put about 4 quarts in and it looks good. any thoughts?
@@3ftDeepChannel to clarify, I didn't put anymore oil in after it started beeping at me. Parked it and rode only one of the two sea doos for the rest of the day. No major smoke, nothing in the hull, it read on the high side of the stick so I pumped a little out. I ran it on the hose for a while with no oil warnings. Seems like it is a fine line between too much oil and not enough.

Sounds like you dropped a valve. I would pull the cylinder head off and check it out. It’s hard to say how bad it is until you get in there. If you have an endoscope, you could use that first. Good luck!
If a supercharger fails, would that cause the engine to crank but not start? I have a 2006 sea doo RXP I can't get to start. It cranks over but won't start.

What does a job like that run 1000 USD ?
If you are willing to send your supercharger out by mail, there are a couple of people who will rebuild it for a fee. Check out the folks at greenhulk.net or PWC Muscle. Last I checked it was about $100 US for labor, plus parts at around $350. Good luck.
