I don't know why this exists, but I'm so glad it does.
Lin explains it on the segment he did with Ellen the other day. Basically, that his dad is a huge Maria VonTrapp/Sound of Music fan; the family toured Austria and did the movie tour; and his dad hired a film crew and wanted to reenact the whole song with himself cast as Maria. Everything about this is perfect!

The Sound of Music was probably the most-watched movie in my house growing up, too, and it's one of my favorite of all-time. I want to do the Austrian tour someday-but reenacting the song and filming it? That's touring with style!
I am also taken with the fact that this was *all* about Lin's dad. His Broadway-star son faded easily into the background with the family, and didn't have a single solo part or anything to draw focus. It was surprising, but also very telling of the kind of character that Lin-Manuel Miranda possesses (and how much he loves his family, which is very much on display here).
I goofy-smiled my way through this, and I will keep coming back whenever I need a little joy to brighten my day.
His father is fantastic. No wonder Lin is such a joy. 😂 Also, he seems to be the only one who is SUPER INTO IT besides his dad. 💗

aquamarina93 in most pictures and videos they try to avoid showing Sebastian's face. I believe it's for in the future to prevent people from knowing what he looks like and throwing him into a "spotlight" from such a young age because of his father.
