Thanks, Zee! We thought it was a little long, and usually lose enthusiasm by the time we do our third mission. But it does both "Star Trek" and "Panic" pretty well.
Yeah, in regards to the cardboard components, I can see how they'll wear out by attaching and detaching over time. I wonder if replacement components will be made available. (I don't see Castle Panic having the same problem.) Having said that, I enjoy ST Panic a lot. Castle Panic is great too. Both games being in the family games category with older kids.
This is the game that got me into the 'Panic' franchise. The game itself is quite challenging. Much more so than the original castle panic. The challenging aspect of the game is that you have to use some hit cards that have icons you would have to use to complete missions. Those hit cards you will need to deal with the threats that can attack you. I love the maneuvering aspect of the Enterprise. The downside though is that many missions you are impeded by no being able maneuver so if you're playing Sulu (can maneuver twice on your turn) makes him an obsolete choice as a character. This is the only co-op of late Aside from Ghost stories, where I've lost more than won. It doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the game. In fact when I lose it's when we're down to where we need 1-2 more missions to complete. Dealing with threats and the missions requires a good amount of planning.
It's a good idea when playing this to just barely/gently attach the cardboard damage bits to the ship model and especially to the plastic shield pieces. If you fully shove them firmly on there every time they are very likely to get damaged.
Thank you, Zee for reviewing this one (although it felt a little rushed). You gave it a solid "Like" even though you had to fiddle about a bit with the bits. Seems to me that if this game is solidly liked by the owner then there will be a "break-in" period in which the stiffness of the fitting is ameliorated over time as play occurs such that interchanging the bits becomes easier. (Perhaps the designers thought that far ahead and made the fiddly bits exactly that way so that they never become too loose?) One should never underestimate the engineering of cardboard. Especially when there is First Contact between said cardboard and A Slab of Acrylic! *Two Nacelles Up!*
Zee! The ship component part. You can push the engine part(where the thrusters connect) further into the hull of the ship. This happened to me too :) hope it helps or understandable

I took a small file to the shield damage tokens and the slots where the shields fit. Widen them by 1mm and you're good to go.

you don't lose the game at 3 damage you lose when the entire ship is destroyed. at 3 damage you cannot move any more.

Have you looked on Amazon and ebay? Its there. A little pricey though.

Game is way too hard, almost impossible to win. As soon as you can't move, which happens real early, you are screwed.
They're really going to ride this board design into the ground aren't they?
