There are not many 72 year old tenors who would sound as good as Mr. Gedda does here. It's a real testament to his technique as well as to the wise decisions he made about his career and repertoire over the course of his long career.
He did opera. Did he also do an operetta career? He could fill all opera houses just with the leading parts in great operettas. When he was in his best years, he must have been a perfect caracter or personality for the leading parts in great operettas. Such a great fantastic voice that tenor had. Bravo, bravo Nicolai Gedda!
He did it all in every language perfectly. Light roles and heavy, his voice lasted a long time. Great technique, although his mouth positions always seemed strange. Try to sing like that. Can't be done, but something worked.

Heard this in Swedish when he was younger, so beautiful. Jussi Björling has made this too.. but it lacks all that Mr Gedda has
