Why are people feeling bad for the kids being neglected, if you watched the anime. The person who isekai'd was literally a teenager who spent most of her life literally in the hospital. She wouldn't even develop proper normal sympathy or a caring personality as much. She's doing great as is. The protaganist is literally a child herself mentally. Look at MOST teenage mothers and how they treat their child. It's almost always neglectful but there are some who have their mothers to teach them how to take care of a child.
I really enjoy this story. Its a laid back with buts of action here and there. I need to finish reading the last book. Hopefully we get a season 2 for it.
I find funny the well, actually, "nah, her airheadedness has actually helped me out at times" since it sounds like he would use it for something ominous but then again maybe he just used it to get past and be able to buy extra supplies or something without his wife noticing. It also might help in fights. But yeah, it sounds ominous.
I still think it would be funny if the silver witch appeared in overlord he sees it and just turns around and says it's not worth it land of leadale ain't that prosperous 😂
I wanted to like this show more than I did. Frankly it shouldn't have been an iisekai at all. This show is an example of when you should just stick with a fantasy setting. It would have been better to go with her actually having been a Witch or Mage or something that got sealed away or got amnesia or something. Iisekai shouldn't just be an excuse to skip half of your world building.
I tend to agree as I think Isekai has to have a point to it, though being sealed away or having amnesia would still have a similar narrative effect and the world building could have been just as neglected, so I'm not sure why it would simply be better in this case. As to why you have isekai in the first place, one point is to have your character unfamiliar with the world they find themselves in, a convenient excuse to discover the world alongside your audience (in this case its only partially true because the MC does know of the world, but has a knowledge gap of 200 years and the context of knowing about it as a game instead of the reality she finds herself in), another point is for the MC to use real world knowledge to benefit themselves or others/the new reality they find themselves in (this is a weird one because the MC knows a lot of the world because this just used to be a game to her, so she is technically using real world knowledge, just in a different way) and lastly, the juxtaposition between the MC's past in the real world and the current world they find themselves in (can't remember if we actually know all that much about the MC's real life besides her being a gamer and some of the things she did in the game, but we do have how that effected her perception of her knew reality and how she treats it due to it originally being a game to her). Of course there are many more reasons why you could have an isekai, some reasons better than others, but I think these are typically the main ones. I don't think a story being an isekai or not is for better or worse, but I feel that the author really needs to use it to their advantage if they are going to use it in the first place (though I think this hits those reasons for me). To have isekai in your story and then to just treat it as normal fantasy or sci-fi, just feels both poinless and wasteful in my opinion and there are many, many examples of "isekai" that fit that bill nowadays.
@@net_spider Iisekai is an extremely fun trope but it's just over used. You're right that amnesia or being sealed away could be an excuse too, but it's more fitting if you just want a character unfamiliar with the world. This show and a lot of throwaway iisekai use as almost a throwaway line just to explain why this character has these abilities and these otherwise inexplicable relationships. "This was all a game originally, end of explanation" Take Jobless Reincarnation. The fact that he was reborn from another world was a central plot element AND it wasn't some video game he had played. Or Reincarnated as a Slime. Again, MC being from another world? Central plot element. Re:Zero, again. Arifureta? Again. Just to make a few examples. I just don't like when it's little more than a throwaway set up to save the time of actually writing a story. Just let the viewer use the generic background instead. Lazy. For this show, the MC acts like she's basically just been out of town for a while. At no point does she actually feel like a bedridden gamer who was reborn in the world. She falls right I to her role as a mother who never gave birth. Hardly bats an eyelash and suddenly basically being a goddess and is just kind of a slice of life in a fantasy setting with iisekai as the excuse.
Yea. too often ive read manga where the story had potential, but the isekai genre the author shoe horned in held it back. There IS a manga similar ish to this thats actually good, where the MC is reborn as an elf, but you actually experience him go through 100 years and see him make relationships, and the bittersweetness of never growing old but his friends do. "I Was Reborn and Became a High Elf, but I Got Tired of My Slow Life after 120 Years" for those inclined
@Heavyarms55 100% agree that its over used, definitely to the point where feels like people just do it just to do it sometimes. I do see and concede your point that she really doesn't act like her background would suggest she would, especially since she kinda seems to treat everything like a walk through the park instead of being literally reborn in a fantastical world, though part of that disconnect could probably be explained away by her being reborn into a game that she basically played for forever and not fully comprehending the situation due to that familiarity. Her initial reaction and relationship with her adopted children for example, really feels like if someone discovered a new feature added to their favorite game... though we never quite get her real take on the situation as she switches from doting mother to seemingly forgetting its not a game anymore (describing her interaction as "pretty neat" initially and talking about literally trying to rewrite her son's personality because she dislikes it). For me personally why it doesn't seem that out of place is a "flavour" thing. Is the anime lazily explaining things away because its an isekai? Probably, but how certain things are explained away does make sense in certain contexts. If this wasn't originally a game and she was just another already existing character in this fantasy world, it would change the overall feel of the experience and she would act much differently because this would just be her reality, amnesia or being "away" forever not changing that fact. Instead it was a game to her and she kinda treats it as such, though I agree that a normal person wouldn't keep that disconnect for long and would have an Epiphany at some point, its still a root that makes sense and what creates some of its comedy. I have read how other people read the situation though and it does seem like the writers for the anime did it a little dirty by actually being lazy... Though it doesn't change the anime's situation, the light novel apparently did have much more world building and the isekai aspect did seem more fleshed out. Seems they just jumped on another cash grab and simplified things to make it easier to get out (kinda like with Infinite Dendrogram apparently... man a lot of people were mad over that one, though 100% recommend the light novels as its an okay read for me so far).
I think we can agree that the anime was funny but not the best But the light novel is hilarious at time with a better point of how much its weird for her

yeah from the perspective of the daughter it's been hundreds of years since she last saw her mother but from the perspective of the mother, up until a week or so ago the daughter was just some random cute NPC she bought when she was like 16 or so that she could get a couple random in-game benefits

Thats the most rudest son in law ive seen. And don't bring your mom to your husband to introduce, you need to bring your husband to your mom as a respect.
yeah, but, like...the mom wasn't even in the universe during the son-in-law's entire life until around this point then just randomly showed up at the daughter's workplace by accident
yeah it's weird but also you have to remember that she's literally a teenager who's never met anyone other than doctors and nurses and online friends who is suddenly having random former-NPCs call her 'mother dearest' while her children are all several-hundred-year-old grown adults who are constantly begging her to baby them
@@Matakshaman I'm not talking about the "neglect" of her absence. That's not her fault. What is her fault is pushing her Children away when she does meet them. She ACTIVELY shuts down their attempts at intimacy, affection and companionship with her. Likely they have unresolved issues from losing her at a young age, and then 200 years without their "mother". Of course they want to connect with her. But Cayna seems incapable of acting upon this basic emotional concept and treats them as tools and plotpoints, while their desires for relationship with her are treated as inconvenience and annoyance. TLDR, once awake, (after 200 years) she not only neglects, abuses and pushes them away, she only interacts with them for the sake of her personal gain. TLDR

Now they have a good mother child relationship. Cayna is still a 17 years old teenager without any good life experience inside that body.
her children should be older than any man alive... and they're basically NPCs, made by the game. They should be grateful she didn't do what Ainz and his guild mates did to their created NPC.
The show was pretty middling, but I did like the family aspect of it. I was disappointed the op starts so strong and kinda downgrades into a generic poppy anime opening.
I didn't like this anime. Or the manga. It's WAY too simple and generic. Anyway, without writing a book (edit: i lied. My bad) about it. I understand why these things exist. I like action. I also like a good love story. I also like slice of life. AND i understand the appeal of "slow-life" anime and manga. One story is about a guy who can't speak the language of the other world but learns tt over time. Adjust to life there and build connections with the people there. It's a good little take on isekai's. But this thing is... well, it has no point to it at all. It's just... boring. Now seeing her "kids" SHOULD have been interesting. Adding something new. Some form of conflict or another element. Maybe throw it some emotional, "new found family thing" sort of thing. But nah. She could give less than two shits about her "kids." So, them being there was pretty much pointless. They are all amazing and important figures in the world but at the end of the day... who cares? It needed a hook. Something to latch onto. But i guess if you're looking for something generic, something with empty calories AND something you can read mindlessly without thinking about it. Then... i guess it's fine. But literally nothing matters in this story. Edit: If i remember correctly, the drawf guy gets it the worst. He wants so desperately to be acknowledged by his "mother". But... yeah... nothing. Poor guy
What if If she is her mother, then she married to him. Then, Mc married their child because she didnt know she is her great great grandson. Fuck Im confused. Oh sweet alabama.
I find it hilarious that Mai-Mai basically married a male version of her mother. Her mother and the husband have the same vibe.
natural results of having severe mommy issues.
I mean Skargo does have a mother complex, so it's not too big a stretch she'd be more inclined to fall in love with people like her mother herself.
And to think thats her second husband
That vibe is "I gotta deal with her nonsense every day".
I mean, it seems like it takes that exact type of person to be able to handle/deal with her so it makes sense XD
This anime really captures the essence of how terrible a parent the typical MMO gamer would be.
I think the problem is that her children literally grew up without her. They are total strangers to her, but clearly they have missed their mother dearly.

SUPER BOOK
What series???
boku no pico
I don't like the way she treats her family .but that's a me problem .
The way she treats her family is definitely a massive red flag
yeah it's weird but also you have to remember that she's literally a teenager who's never met anyone other than doctors and nurses and online friends who is suddenly having random former-NPCs call her 'mother dearest'
while her children are all several-hundred-year-old grown adults who are constantly begging her to baby them
This is fuel for rule #34
No. “Bonk”
The way Cayna treated her children made me drop the series harder than a sack of potatoes. Neglect and abuse. Ffs.
To be fair she was dead for 200+ years 😂
@@Matakshaman I'm not talking about the "neglect" of her absence.
TLDR,
once awake, (after 200 years) she not only neglects, abuses and pushes them away, she only interacts with them for the sake of her personal gain.
TLDR
Tbf, most Isekai parents are like that.
@@charlesshepherd7521not trying to defending her actions but she only seess them as adults, not aa children. And she doesn't know how to handle their childish obessesiom. She does care for them and WILL destroy a monster horde if it means to protect them. The reason she wanted to eff that kid is because he posed a threat to Mai Mai's children. Now they have a good mother child relationship. Cayna is still a 17 years old teenager without any good life experience inside that body.
her children should be older than any man alive... and they're basically NPCs, made by the game. They should be grateful she didn't do what Ainz and his guild mates did to their created NPC.
Ffs hug your kid omg.

But... yeah... nothing. Poor guy
She smaller than she is and “mother?”
Anime logic is so weird!
There's nothing weird about kids growing up to be taller than their parents, it's actually fairly common.
Plus Cayna's body didn't develop properly because of the car accident. She based her game design on her own body
Eh a bit more teashy isekai won't hurt
Art style is sus
Kinda creepy that she gets annoyed and physically hurts those who adore her. One of the worst I watched
Cayna is like the worst parent ever
yes, but not by her own choice like many others i saw
@@enriconaves6501 how come? I didn't watch this show only few clips like this on yt.
@@akale2620 lols she isekai 😂.

No, I’m not reading the fucking subtitles for fuck sake. I want to watch something not read it.
pretty sure you can find it dubbed if you want
Anime name
In the land of Leadale. It's fine, just don't expect anything special from it. Isekai slice of life comedy.
