@@AwesometownUSA That's pretty much the problem with the IT field, it's always changing as you said and keeping up with it is difficult because it requires constant learning and re-certification for any of the major companies, microsoft, apple or for networking etc.

I think they literally just mean taking a screenshot of the desktop and setting it as a background. So when a icon is deleted the picture of the icon in the background is still there.

I got one of those once. I pretended to have a heart-attack during the call & then dropped the phone on the floor, just to hear the guy come completely unglued on the other end.

Disable his keyboard/mouse support when you connect to teamviewer so he can't fight you for control, then tell him it froze on your side.
So what does the hacker see? I don’t understand how they allow him to do this?

Until you put the settings in place (or before hand, if you're smart) both people have the same permissions, and as the scammer is more concerned with YOUR computer, and would likely have your screen maximized (he has a VM, effectively a "Dud" computer that his main computer emulates, and this is what they see. The dud.) you can dick around on THEIR desktop to little issue.

@Harsh3003 Sadly, that is true. The fact that they get away with it there adds to that bad rep. India has been famous for corruption for a very long time. I am aware of the strides that are being made against corruption in government and business but is not something that can be wiped out quickly when it has been the way of things for so long.
But it looks like America is jumping into the corruption swamp that India is striving to pull itself out of.
Corruption is not a race thing, it is a human thing. A culture of corruption is a very difficult thing to straighten out. I am ancient of days and have been watching the development of a culture of corruption in America, for some time.
I have been watching and have been encouraged by modernization efforts and positive changes in some aspects of government in India. It is a huge job that is being tackled.
Every country has a significant number of thieves, liars, and scammers. I hate the scammers with a passion but they do not represent the many Indians I have worked with and known, over the years, here in Canada. Don't blame me, I did not vote for our current prime minister. :):)

@@Cookieofdoom Same reason any other poorer country has high crime. It's not a racial issue, but instead a national one. More crime like this in poorer areas. These scammers get paid barely anything (though they all deserve prison) but for them it's more than most other jobs. When you're in poverty, you do what you can to get by, and often that involves criminal activity.
That's not to say all of India is horrible. Just like America, some places are lovely and look near utopian, while others are entirely the opposite. Class division of that sort always equals crimeless expensive cities and high crime rates everywhere else.

I had someone trying to do the IRS scam on me one day. I played along for a minute and then I asked him I needed to Western Union the money he wanted or get a cashier's check. He absolutely blew up on me and threatened to kill me lol
