    The greatest guitar player of nowadays! Why? I'll tell you why... diversity, perfect synchronism between hands and distortion levels in such a low scale that we can perfectly see that he's not missing any notes, not like 99% of all guitar players that put the gain on the limit so any shit they do would sound right.Keep rockin' Kiko!!

    • @Felix-78
      @Felix-78 3 роки тому +2

      He focuses so much on getting everything note to sound good instead of speed or technical fingerings and he’s right. Music has got to sound good in the first place. And his positivity is great as well.

      @@Felix-78 Yes you're right and one thing that's often overlooked with great instrumentalists like Kiko when they teach, isn't what is there, it's what isn't there. I know that sounds crazy but bum notes, scrapes, clumsiness, choked notes etc...all absent. I think in part I realised these things when studying Eric Clapton. He's a guy that obviously is not nor was ever a shredder but his live performances when not using noise gates and string dampeners all relied on good technique to eliminate all the unwanted shite so the audience is only left with good quality. I'm a big believer in new guitarists adopting this method to eliminate before turning to technology. Overall skill and understanding of the craft is greatly increased this way.

      @@jackclements2163 technical wizardry is just a tool which you can use to get the sound that you want but it shouldn’t be a primary goal if you ask me. With some chords or passages the notes will rattle or not sound at all when I am playing. So what’s the use then to speed up the playing if the notes are not sounding right.

      @@Felix-78 THIS, the most important thing is to make music, technique is just a mean too achieve that, hopefully, easier, as usually the better we get technically, the easier to express what we want in the instrument

    @Kiko Loureiro I would have loved to have seen the live stream of this or any other live stream Kiko has done but I am new here finding this page just yesterday. I am glad I found your channel! Thanks for taking the time to film & post this lesson! The examples you taught here have allowed me to view arpeggios differently & has given me a few new ways to go about practicing arpeggios. I am always happy when I can approach anything on the guitar in a different manner. I will be checking out the videos you have posted now & look forward to any future live streams you take part in. You are an amazing guitar player & an amazing teacher as well I appreciate you taking the time & effort to post your videos. This is the best guitar lesson I have found in a long time & even told my wife this morning how excited I am that I came across an excellent teacher that has already made me view some things differently which can be a huge deal especially when I feel like I have been stuck on a plateau for a while now. Greetings from Concord, NH & have an excellent afternoon Kiko Loureiro! Take Care!!

    Thank you Kiko for doing these lessons!
    It’s amazing these days to have someone of your caliber, who’s also a great teacher, teaching free on UA-cam...
    I’m just getting back to guitar after a 20 year absence.
    I was suspecting the best way to relearn was to start with triads and this lesson confirmed that, and gave me good ideas to get back after it.
    All the best to you!

    Kiko is a fantastic guitarist. No question about it. The guy is a virtuoso. I'm not sure the greatest players always make the best instructors. It seems like he takes an extended/unnecessary amount of time to teach what could be taught in 15 minutes, 20 tops. Some of his videos go almost an hour. In the meantime, you get interupted with a commercial every 3 minutes. I guess that's okay for people who have a lot of time on their hands. I'm sure with that accent and million dollar smile he has no trouble drawing a female audience. I just think a lot of time is wasted on fluff and not getting down to instruction. Of course it's hard to argue with success. Some of Kiko's videos have well over a million hits. I highly recommend Steve Stine as an instructor. He's a fantastic guitarist and he gets to the point without taking a lot of time for fluff. Steve Stine breaks down what you need to know quickly and he also gives you the string and fret numbers (so you're not wasting a lot of time having to replay the thing). With kiko, I have to watch the thing numerous times in slow motion and even then it's still hard to figure out what notes he's playing. His lessons are for people who are very advanced. At that point, if you're that far advanced, you probably don't need the lessons to begin with. Like I said, he's a great guitarist, has a nice personality, and appears to be down to Earth. But his videos take too long.

      This was a live stream so it's not really the same as a video lesson in my mind. It's obviously going to be a bit longer as he is interacting with the viewers.

      @@kikoloureiroofficial Yes it really is! I used to challenge myself to play "right hand only" picking challenges. Back in those days I was playing a lot of Joe Satriani, Iron Maiden, Megadeth and Metallica. I used to choose a track/song, analyse it and only play the correct strings with my right picking hand while dampening the strings with my left hand. This included rhythm and solo sections. It sounded horrible of course but once I played normally using both hands, my accuracy and coordination was vastly improved. I introduced my students to this too.
