I read 123 books in 2024 and ended not really liking anything I read. I am getting back to my roots this year by focusing on YA books and rereading my fave YA books to remind myself of that feeling I love to get when I read!
I have taken the last few years to read the Outlander series and it is wonderful - it takes time but you will feel so accomplished when you finish it. The show is wonderful, too! I read a book and then watched the corresponding season because it helped solidify all the characters in my mind!
❤📚📚❤️ Happy New Year! My plans: No Goodreads challenge, no readathons or challenges. The only goal for myself is binging my series each month. They just keep sitting there because I don't like forgetting details of the first book, so I just keep putting them off. I'll choose from my "standalone " shelves after I finish the series of the month. January, I've started the Shadow and Bone Trilogy. February, I'll be reading Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom. Titles tell you how long I've put off all my series! I will finish twelve series and still have shelves full of the unread series. 😅 Outlander series is so good. I read those years ago and still have them on my shelves. I hope you enjoy all your 2025 reads!
Hey Jordan, Happy Saturday. I still can’t believe it’s January 2025, this year came so fast. 😮 I loved learning more about your reading goals for 2025, I love how you are going to read 7 books before buying one that someone else recommended. I love how you are going to read books that you’re interested in and that are in your style instead of others. I enjoyed learning more about the books that are on your 2025 tbr list. 😊🥰
So many of these are on my TBR as well! I also have the goal of reading what I have and finishing/starting series - happy reading - great picks and video!
I find it super impressive, not that you haven't read Harry Potter, but that you haven't been spoiled with it, especially in today's internet age. Very nice. I do hope you liveblog your reactions to the last three books, though.
Girl you still have Taming 7 after Redeeming 6 so it won't be over yet lol. I listened to all of them last year and the audiobooks were amazing! One of my favorite series of all time. I'm so excited for Onyx Storm, Say You'll Remember Me, and Quicksilver Book 2 which does have a date now it comes out in November! Also I really want to read The Kindred's Curse Saga I've been waiting for Book 4's release date to be announced bc I heard Book 3 ends on a massive cliffhanger! Also really want to read Book Of Azreal bc the 4th book comes out in the Spring this year. Also can't wait for Holly Jackson's new thriller too. I have a couple new release thrillers this month if u wanted to add more there's Freida Mcfadden's The Crash, and No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally comes out today! And hope you get to your Magnolia Parks reread I binged the series back in June and loved it. Happy reading for 2025!
7:20 Redeeming 6 is amazing. My favourite book after Saving 6. It knocked Twilight off the top spot. Joey and Aoife’s story while difficult so impactful. We are a GAA family. Hurling/camogie are my favourite sports so loved that theme. It is the first time I’ve seen hurling in an adult fiction book. Def read it if you are able for the really hard bits.
My physical TBR is almost 200 books. I went on a book buying frenzy last year and this year I'm limiting myself to $20ish a month for books. I don't really do ebooks anymore, and I can't do audiobooks (they bore me like talk radio). My only goal is to just read and try to curb my spending habit haha.
Great list, I hope you love all of these! I’ve heard really good things about Metal Slinger! Also very excited about Onyx Storm and Abby Jimenez’s new book 😊 Would love to read Spark of the Everflame this year as well!
I am not a booktuber and I love to binge a series and binge an author. I do wait until all of the books are out (at least I try) before I read the first one because if I like it, I'll want to keep going but if I do not feel like there needs to be any more to the story than is there in the first book, I'm ok with not continuing a series and leaving book one as a stand alone. I think that would be the hard part of being a booktuber - feeling like you need to try different genres and can't binge read a series for fear you'd have no content. Thanks for sharing your dogs of 2024. I had to dnf ... wait for it... Fourth wing - I just couldn't take the writing. And I've dnf'd Red Rising about 3x. Unpopular I know. 5 star Romance, Funny Story and Seven Year Slip. Yay for Romance in late 2024.
I'm also going to stop trying to have a reading goal. Instead, I just want to focus on all types of books - big and small. A lot of times I don't read the larger books because I feel like it will take more time and that I won't be able to get to another book as quickly and then can't get that dopamine hit of finishing another book. We should be savoring the books - the authors took the time to write the books, we should be taking the time to read them and enjoy them and not already be looking ahead to our next read. Also I agree with sticking to genres that I like - I've also found that I haven't loved a lot of the Booktok/Booktube books this year. However, I have discovered that I enjoy some fantasy/romantasy and some thrillers/mysteries so that's a positive! I also have read books in the past that I have loved and I want to reread them as well! Looking forward to more book content from you, Jordan!
I LOVE what you said about the dopamine hit finishing a book but some of my favorite books of all time are actually the huge ones and that’s what I need to remember. I love being in a fictional world and with characters I love for 600+ pages 🩷 may 2025 be the year we don’t get intimidated by big books 👏🏻🤣
The book after Quicksilver is going to be released in the month of November in 2025. We have to wait so long, but I definitely think this second book in the series will be worth the wait! 📕
@@Jordan_elaine Ok, gotcha! I love your booktube content. As a stay-at-home mom, I sometimes find it hard to get reading time in. This video is motivating me to finish current series' I'm in the middle of, too. Happy reading!
So so true! You read what you want to read! I need to pay attention to this too, as I get FOMO when I see booktubers rave about books in genres I'm lukewarm about. Thanks, Jordan. I have Outlander but I'm torn over reading it because of the constant sex scenes and violent scenes. Maybe this year...
I actually really enjoyed Millie Bobby Brown’s book! I love WWII historical fiction too so that’s part of it, but I thought the book was done pretty well. Also: she narrates the audiobook herself and I really liked it too.
New releases for me in 2025 are Emily Henry, Ashley Poston, Taylor Jenkins Reid, and Fredrick Backman (too lazy to look up titles, I only know Atmosphere title by Taylor Jenkins Reid)
My goal is to read books that I want. I don't read recommended books anymore. I also have too many series that I am in the middle of. I plan to work on some of those. I also plan to buy only the books coming out by authors I love. No other books. I have way too many books.
I haven’t picked up outlander because I’ve heard so many people say the show is way better and I loveeee the show. So I’m scared to be disappointed from the books now lol

Exactly! It’s not about quantity but quality
That is sad! But we live and learn 🤣 what’s your favorite book??
I'm already so excited to hear your thoughts in Outlander! I watched the series for the first time in 2024 and I became obsessed😍
I have taken the last few years to read the Outlander series and it is wonderful - it takes time but you will feel so accomplished when you finish it. The show is wonderful, too! I read a book and then watched the corresponding season because it helped solidify all the characters in my mind!
That’s a good idea since I’ve never seen the show either!
The show is amazing! I’m on the 4th book. I listen to the audiobook
Outlander is absolutely addicting - Get Ready!! I hope to see a lot of content for this book!!
Maybe I’ll vlog some while reading ☺️
@@Jordan_elaine I would love that!

@Jordan_elaine 🤗👍
@@starlasell5698 I also really like that idea!
@@Rebecca-xw4ji Great! Thank you. 🤗👍
I can't wait to follow you throughout this entire year and see all that you dive into!
I can’t wait for you to read all the books I recommend to you and see you give them 5 stars 😉🩷

“When I was just an individual little reader” 😂💕 I just love this video and hearing your goals!
I think you have set some great personal goals as a creator for the new year! I'm here for the journey ❤
I find it super impressive, not that you haven't read Harry Potter, but that you haven't been spoiled with it, especially in today's internet age. Very nice. I do hope you liveblog your reactions to the last three books, though.
I also haven’t read it or had it spoiled it is possible!! I don’t know how but it is 😂
Yeah I don’t know how I’ve avoided spoilers either other than that the algorithm doesn’t show me anything since I don’t search it
Sunrise on the Reaping is definitely my most anticipated book of the year🤩
Yes 🙌 Outlander is my all time favorite series, the audiobooks are incredible too❤
Oh thanks for letting me know! Since it’s a huge book the audio would be helpful
I just started your video, but your cup is too cute! Love it!
Thanks! I got it for Christmas 😍
What a year we have coming up!!! Looking forward to every book and all that is ahead!
Loved Nineteen Steps!!!!!! I love her in real life. She is an amazing young woman.

Outlander is absolutely amazing! Listening to the first one on audible might make the reading easier because you will hear in your head the accents.
Davina Porter is the consistent and AWESOME narrator of all the Outlander books on Audible, I love when people discover this wonderful series.
Good idea!
I've never read Harry Potter or watched all the movies either. In 2025, I will be reading it and watching the movies ❤
Great video 🥰 I want to try and read 25 books this year but that’s about it not going to pressure myself 🩵

And so cool you’re a GAA family!
I love that you’re getting your husband to read throne of glass! I got my boyfriend to read it as well and it was a nice experience

I still can't believe it's 2025! However, I am very happy to start with you!
I also need to finish the Chestnut Springs series. I’m on book 4
Oo such good goals!!!
A great year of reading. I'm planning on re-reading Magnolia Parks too so I can continue the series.
👏🏻👏🏻
I still need to read Outlander also. I don’t know why I haven’t read it before. I’ve owned book 1 for forever

I hold on to books in a series too for the same reason. I don't want them to end.

100% worth the wait! I want a confirmed date to circle it on my calendar 🤣
The next book in the Boys of Tommen Series it out, Jordan! Taming 7 :) I love this series SO much!

I haven’t seen the show so maybe I’ll be okay since I can’t compare it

Fear the Flames was super disappointing to me 🙁 Zodiac Academy is unhinged but super fun and addicting!
Oh no! I hate when a hype book is a disappointment
A reader friend I trust told me they enjoyed Nineteen Steps
Glad to hear that!
Outlander is so good but it’s a long series
I haven’t even checked how many books it is. Maybe I should just start without knowing haha
@ it’s 9 plus a bunch of novellas - plus there is a spin off with Lord John
