Lift the rev limit. There's more than enough power there for mid 11s. Took me 310kw to go 11.8@117.8mph. Manual, and N/A. Looks like it was 60'ing well on the last run, 1.7x?
I've done a 13.5 in my ba ute with small cams and diff gears, so with radials and and extra 150hp low 12 shouldn't be a problem. Watched a few of your videos and really makes me want to jam some big cams in mine and see what it does
Can't wait to see what the challenges are. Glad the Motive and BCW crews got into or agreed to this competition/build-off. It has been alot of fun to watch so far with some interesting approaches to the same situation.

@@brettwarren3429 Really just shows how much of a wank dyno figures are, if you're trapping 124mph Ur making significantly more power, whether it's auto or manual won't help with mph. 111mph does suggest it could get mid to low 12's on a good run
Mate we were racing these things back in 2003, reckon 90/10s and some kaltracs for the rear maybe some different gears if your allowed., but the mph isn't really showing that power., what was the 60ft?
Let's face it, they both didn't want to show their times until they had to for the views LOLs now we have to wait for the drag next week. Just by numbers alone the Commodore should 12.0 -12.5 and the Falcon should do 11.5 -12.0 but let's see what shenanigans happen next week.
@@Bootsos90 yeah definitely 20s look good but aren't great for traction of the line. Auto is where you're making that time a manual will never be as fast as an auto unless you get everything perfect and even then you can shift as fast as the auto can
What were you expecting 😂😂 if you had any clue about the modular V8s youd know they respond extremely well to boost and on factory internals for the most part, guess your comment two weeks ago about how it will probably only manage to make the same power as the VE didnt age well...usually what happens when people discard the 5.4s abilities, the issue for the Falcon over the commodore will forever be putting the power to the ground thru an older chassis and a live axel
Hi Guy's I'm seriously taken the leap of faith with the Boss 290 upgrade to vortech intercooled. If I'm just planning on 8psi any mods required such as Timing chain /tensioner, Cam, upgrade to Transmission and Driveshaft.. Any tips would be awesome if you could. Cheers.. Andy
These videos must have been filmed a while before Andrew speaks directly to the camera.. while they building the ute he has a bit of a tummy. When he speak to the camera he's quite slim..
It's small block big heads quad cam also most of the weight of a engine is in the cast iron block not the aluminum heads though people like to exaggerated the weight of the 5.4 because of the size of them but they're actually not much heavier than an ls engine.
I'm not convinced it will smoke the SS it couldn't beat a low 400hp in his IS200. Maybe the extra weight between the 200 and the SS will make the difference or will it be like RIP310?
I must need new tyres my fg turbo ute(exact same ute as this xr8) lights up 2nd too easy and only a few upgrades 400hp at the wheels I thought this thing would melt tyres
I think the VE SS is going to beat this, even though it's staying naturally aspirated. Holdens platform is just better and the LS engines always deliver.
You guys must have started ordering the parts from sparesbox about 6 years before making this video. Thats how long it takes to get anything from them..

I agree but looking the dyno chart it was falling of at the top end so it will need a retune. If only you could've been there in the GT to smack em 😉

4.11 diff gears and some tramp rods will work well.

So much to be said for the ZF box, easily a low 12, high 11 car with one.
If you can get it to hook, that power is low 11's with a ZF. My own car has similar power and has gone 11.3@124mph

I didn’t know ford put a big block v8 in there utes. It only just fits in there 😂

I’ve had a couple of supercharged cars, the way the torque is delivered they just tend to stick and go. Turbos are more fun in that respect.
turbo is a big rush all at once, as he said supercharged is more rpm more boost more power, its a gradual increase
