Fishing at Llyn Brenig
One of my top 3 fisheries in the UK! Great parking, fantastic breakfast, great boats, and absolutely fabulous fishing.
Fishing at Llyn Brenig is a pleasure for both experienced anglers and those new to fishing - particularly fly fishing.
Whilst we’re best known for fly fishing at Llyn Brenig, we also offer pike fishing annually from 1 October and year round multi-method bank fishing in nearby Alwen Reservoir.
To accompany great fishing, we also have a Lakeside Café and specialist Fishing Shop, with everything you need to get out on the water.
Llyn Brenig is a reservoir located on Denbigh Moors in North Wales. The artificial lake, which was constructed between 1973 and 1976, was created by building an embankment dam across the Afon Brenig valley. It lies at 1,200 ft (370 m) above sea level on the border between the counties of Conwy and Denbighshire. It is used to manage the flow in the River Dee as part of the River Dee regulation system.
The reservoir's purpose is to protect the water supply for North West England and north-east Wales, particularly Liverpool and its surrounding area. Its surface area of 920 acres (3.7 km2) makes it the fourth largest lake in Wales, behind Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid), Llyn Trawsfynydd and Lake Vyrnwy.

I caught 15 trout from bank today at Brenig. All on dryfly! The heather fly was about.

@@Na-Muche I prefer wild fish, but yes it's nice and the trout fight very hard and good dryfly fishing. That brown trout caught was highly likely to be stocked ( they started stocking them last year ) although there the occasional wild trout in there, but very rarely caught.
Yes. The fish there fight bravely. Brown trout from this place is like catching a unicorn.🦄 very rare fish 👍🏻🎣
@@Na-MucheBrenig fish fight as hard as seatrout in my opinion. There is no other stocked fish that will fight harder. You need minimum of 8 pound tippet even dryly as any less and you will have break offs
