Makes sense, I knew as soon as this scene started that this was going to be the collapsed expressway of FF7 rebirth. I’m realizing this isn’t the zone music. It’s Aerith on an adventure music. In fact, when the team switches to Yuffie the music changes, and as soon as you go back to cloud and Aerith this song comes back.
I love Collapsed expressway and its fight theme version in Remake. I really appreciate you for this. I'm so hooked up with this new ost's synth as a keyboard player. ❤
So I guess Mitsuto Suzuki is the guy you call to drop a totally original track into a mid-game chapter of a Final Fantasy VII game to make you just gobsmacked at how beautiful it is that this game is REAL and EXISTS.
That was my exact thought when this tune started playing on the hiking trail. Fitting that they play on Cloud and Aerith's adventures (this time alongside the goodest boy)
This song is an amazing example of what we old gamers mean when we talk about video game music that sounds like video game music The composer captured the essence of what music on the PS1 was like to us back in the day while giving it a modern sound
Snap, I added this to my final fantasy running playlist over the weekend. So good to run to 😊 beats the 1 hour version of the jules techno battle music I put on a my power song.
It's the U2 sounding guitar and the Synth Arppeggios over the top that sell the 80s sound for me. If it wasn't in FF7 Rebirth, I'd have sworn it was written by Icehouse or something
It’s sad that Nobuo Uematsu has pretty much all but retired because he WAS Final Fantasy for many great years! From what I’ve read in a couple of interviews with him his health isn’t the greatest and he wants to relax and enjoy the years he has left. That being said, I’m glad that Squeenix has other talented folks to turn to - Mitsuto Suzuki who composed this awesome track, the insanely talented Masayoshi Soken (I will never understand how he has been able to create so many new songs for the FF series and remix/rearrange so many old ones as well), and Yoko Shimomura, the talented lady who composed most of XV’s fantastic soundtrack. I believe that the music for the Final Fantasy series will be in good hands with those mentioned above and the other musicians who have contributed tracks to the franchise. But since Nobuo is only 64 he’s still got enough time, the Good Lord permitting, to not only enjoy his golden years but also contribute a new track or two for we fans every now and then!
This section was one of my favorite parts of the entire game. It instantly gave me the same vibe I had when playing Remake's collapsed expressway, which was one of my favorite parts of that game. It's such a great feeling to adventure forth with Aerith.
When I was anticipating playing this game, one of my thoughts was “ which song in the game in this new game is gonna come out of nowhere and blow me away. Here it is! That little violin that kicks in gets me every time. So many good parts to this song. Also it kinda has a Moby vibe in some parts.
That’s literally the soundtrack of the game. From the main theme. The QB theme, Kryie theme, Crystal caves battle theme, Junon practice… even the DOG’S ESCORT MISSION sounds amazing!
@@holitinneam I wrong or did they record a unique track for the 2minutes scene that is the tutorial in Junon? They're crazy... I already heard 5 variants of due recompense FFS
You go back in time alot ofJapanese anime opening/ closing credit themes were the first to mix uplifting synth /orchestra music with electric guitar. A total recipie for success.
So far this is probably my favorite song from Rebirth. I liked it so much that I idled for a long time just to listen to it and created a separate save so I can listen to it when I want. Can’t wait for the album to be available for purchase! Thanks for uploading this great song, my friend.
The Mt Corel climb really had that dark souls vibe where as you kept going higher and higher you could see the entire open area you were just in get smaller and smaller the higher you go. The sense of scale in this game is on point.
In the background of this epic journey is a couple of close friends travelling the world and having a blast and it breathes a whole new life into this kind of story telling this was a 10/10 game just got to the meridian ocean. Afraid to finish it don’t want the magic to end
hehe had the same feeling at the end too but also wanted to complete it asap cause I wanted to know how it's going to end :D (and don't get spoiled by youtube)
For me, one thing I was really looking forward to in Rebirth was how they would recreate some of my favourite songs from the original. Never did anticipate that an original composition such as this would be amongst one of my favourites. This song absolutely slaps. I get goosebumps when I hear this. The guitar at 2:49 is 🔥🔥🔥
It's been a month plus... I only have the opportunity to play 12 hrs a week. However I do have the privelage of listening to this everyday!!!! Best video game track or even dare I say.... score of the year 🙋♂️
This song is such a breathtaker I had to just sit for like 10 minutes taking it in while looking at the landscape. This “Collapsed Expressway” level song just elevates!🎸🙌
There's a boss battle in chapter 11 Long Shadow of Shinra that gives off this vibe. the music in this game is outstanding. Definitely giving off collapsed expressway vibes
Thanks for posting this! Ever since I heard it I’ve been looking for a place to listen to it. I loved it! One of my new fav songs. Can’t wait for the soundtrack to e eventually hit Spotify
Its a shame I already did everything at the Corel region, just visited by mistake and this song hit so Hard, its so good. This is giving me Collapsed Expressway vibes, which was my favourite song on Remake
This game is that actual merge of xenoblade final fantasy and this song is the epitomy of that same feeling of climbing out of tephra cave or the gormott underbrush and witnessing the whole world
i love this chapter of mt corel one of my fav 1:19 is such a nostalgic part of this music when i hear it i cry beacause i remember the ending 2:49 this part made me cry too
Composed by mitsuto suzuki, who was in charge of the Collapsed Expressway theme in FF7Remake. His sense is wonderful!
Thanks for the detail! I’m so in love with this track!
What a coincidence! Collapsed Expressway is my favorite song in Remake.
Suzuki does the bops!

Thats the feeling isnt it! Disbelief!
I played this in my truck with my mom and she said "this sounds like the ending of every 80's movie ever."
😃
The “Collapsed Expressway” of Rebirth. This song is so good. I sat there for a solid 10 minutes just staring at the scenery listening to this song.
That was my exact thought when this tune started playing on the hiking trail. Fitting that they play on Cloud and Aerith's adventures (this time alongside the goodest boy)
same thoughts, I wanted to go down Mt Corel and climb it up again just because the music is such a mood setter.
The battle theme hits so much harder lol
What a comment. Accurate!
This song is an amazing example of what we old gamers mean when we talk about video game music that sounds like video game music
The composer captured the essence of what music on the PS1 was like to us back in the day while giving it a modern sound
2:49 i had to pause the game to vibe to this SUCH A BANGER MAN
I made sure to take my sweet time going up the mountain because this song is amazing
Me too. I have to hear this song 2 times a day :D
@@DarkerNemesis when i get out of work im going for another hike up the mountain lol
@@carlinleneker-frisch976 Hehe, just gave me an idea, will use this while I do my cardio
Snap, I added this to my final fantasy running playlist over the weekend. So good to run to 😊 beats the 1 hour version of the jules techno battle music I put on a my power song.
It has got that 80s vibe. Thanks for sharing, I started to look for that soundtrack immediately!
Yooo im glad im not the only one that thinks that✊🏽
Did the same thing. As soon as this track kicked in, I just sat the controller down and listened to it for awhile before getting back to it.
Same lol 😂 so happy someone posted on UA-cam for us to enjoy until the ff rebirth soundtrack can be officially released
Just thought about it today. Sounds like Jake “The Snake Roberts” wrestling entrance music
Calling this song a masterpiece would be an understatement
the cheek, the nerve, the audacity and the gumption for this song about climbing a mountain to slap this HARD. damn.
The true convergence of worlds. Final Fantasy and Drag Race.
I've been listening to this looped. It's an amazing track. It's like something you'd hear in The Neverending Story or another 80s adventure movie
Glad I am not the only one, hehe
It's the U2 sounding guitar and the Synth Arppeggios over the top that sell the 80s sound for me. If it wasn't in FF7 Rebirth, I'd have sworn it was written by Icehouse or something
Told the same thing to my wife :)
It's like a missing M83 song
I was thinking the same thing.
I love how so many of us had to take a moment to pause and just vibe when we heard this track in the game for the first time 😂
I had to with this track and the Life Stream one (the side quests one), stood there for 10 mins with the Lifestream one.
Just as in Remake, the best themes are from Cloud and Aerith sections of the game.
Agree 100%
Yeah lol now that you mentioned it
This is how my 1hour long leg workout became a legendary hike to Corel Mount. On repeat!
The song captures the time period in which this game was created in. When it came on I had to pause for a second to listen
Hamaguchi: we just need a simple track to play during an open world segment. nothing fancy.
Suzuki:

@@shishinonaitoyes I read that interview! I particularly enjoyed how he said he was gonna take a vacation first 🤣 he’s a dude after my own heart.
The song when it segues into the battle music slaps so hard.
This section was one of my favorite parts of the entire game. It instantly gave me the same vibe I had when playing Remake's collapsed expressway, which was one of my favorite parts of that game. It's such a great feeling to adventure forth with Aerith.
I’ve kept coming back here. It’s like the music is saying “Just believe.”
Perfect description.
This theme made the whole boring mountain hiking into one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had in the game lol

One of my fav song in the game very 80s synthwave style 😍🔥
Banger! I can’t wait til the soundtrack is available
This song has no right to go as hard as it does, so why can’t I stop smiling 😅

I love this song so much, it's my new spirit animal.
This song is it, comes out of nowhere and kills it, instant classic.
This track is an outstanding piece in a game full of outstanding music. What a gift. Just resonates on every level.
You go back in time alot ofJapanese anime opening/ closing credit themes were the first to mix uplifting synth /orchestra music with electric guitar. A total recipie for success.
I was definitely surprised by this music when it first kicked in. Such a great moment. Awesome tune.
Who the hell needs redbull when this gives me chocobo wings!!! 💓🚀

This music made this entire section that was already awesome into a core gaming memory for me
this is the music id have on repeat if i was hiking an actual mt. corel
WE BE DEFYING DESTINY WITH THIS 🔥🔥
Hmm after finishing the game, who defied destiny exactly? Lol
The Mt Corel climb really had that dark souls vibe where as you kept going higher and higher you could see the entire open area you were just in get smaller and smaller the higher you go. The sense of scale in this game is on point.
Sound like something from Phantasy Star Online uknow, very uplifting.
Damn when that guitar kicks in
This is probably the best song in the game.

So many of these songs remind me of Mobius Final Fantasy! Thanks Suzuki!

Just got to this part of the game last night and woke up like "I need to hear this banger again"
There's a boss battle in chapter 11 Long Shadow of Shinra that gives off this vibe. the music in this game is outstanding. Definitely giving off collapsed expressway vibes
Reminds me of some of the ‘good future’ tracks on Sonic CD.

I just beat the game and this is definitely my favorite track so far. I need to go through more of the soundtrack.
Same here hehe
This song slaps so hard. I took my time on the trail so the music wouldn’t end
Just played this part yesterday and had to come listen to this at work this morning. Can't wait for the soundtrack to be on Spotify
Tears of joy and wonder
Probably the best rebirth 's OST.
Man I was in a work teams meeting while playing this and I took 1 earbud out so I can hear the song and I forgot everything they said in the meeting 😭

I wasn't crazy about the OST this time around, but this is the first song that was really amazing to me.
This is 100x more memorable than half of the boss battles
Incredible song for this great game. Thank you for uploading it.
Tardé como 2 horas en subir la montaña porque me quedaba escuchando la canción😂😂
Loved this track. Hope they release the full OST soon
This is absolutely my favourite track in the entire game, too bad its for such a short part of the game
This is my favorite song. Fuck this turned a shitty atmosphere into enjoyable
Now everytime I get in my cadillac this song auto plays. Awesome.
I love this background music, keeps my motivation and inspiration going when I want to continue to play this game or maybe do some hiking!
Came here for this track ❤❤
This game's OST is absolutely outstanding they didn't need to go so hard but they did
The leitmotif sounds like something out of Digimon(just before Agumon and Gabumon evolved into their mega forms).
Added this to my final fantasy running playlist 😊
Thanks, Already did for my Cardio/Gym Playlist :D
I was completely struck by this banger, the ost of this game is too good to be true.

Great for hikes and working out!
Great tune. I like it
Only song I can compare this to is "when the water breaks" Liquid Temsion Experiment 🙋♂️ Hope you all have fun 🙏
Yes! Great lte track
Gah why is this so good
The battle theme for this place goes so fucking hard. 😂
Mountain High!
Real deep cut but I am getting vibes from Koei's Royal Crown [Gemfire] arranged album- like if the game was remade in 2024 or something
Yeah the similarities are there! Yet it’s still it’s own thing.
Best soundtrack ever ❤❤
Also - the best battle music in the entire game is also from MT Coral - Mt. Corel [Battle Theme] (FF7 Rebirth Soundtrack)
0:40 sounds like a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon theme
best song of the trilogy so far. can't wait for the post so I can listen to this out and about
Right now it's a tie between this song and Ignition Flame from Remake. Such an incredible score though...
This video changes the colors on my phone
What do you mean? Is it bugging?
It makes everything lighter. Like it's trying to match up with the colors in the video
HMm sounds like something that David wise would have used on his soundtracks, from rythm to certian effects. Like from DKC2.
