Hi Aditya, I bring you warm greetings from Australia. I have watched all your lost recipes episodes. I am proud to be an East Indian. My Mum comes from the same village of Gorai as aunty Moraes. I have spent all my childhood vacations there. Thank you for offering the world genuine recipes, now considered lost, though most of us have the East Indian cook books which we follow. Bless your commitment.
Unty Moraes is not frm Gorai, she is frm VileParle
After a long time saw Chef Aditya ... it's a treat to watch you ❤❤

Hi, We are hapy you enjoyed watching the episode!
I would love to live in this community love from USA
I really liked Auntys sense of humour❤
Please, please add English subtitles to all your videos. Absolutely fascinating, I am an avid cook from Singapore and would LOVE to try to make some of these dishes!
She is so cute... I see 'cooking with grannies' show from Italy and something like that from Japan. At their age, they are still passionate and proud about their culinary heritage and with their bent backs slowly do what they still love... It makes a lovely heartening watch. Maybe it will be a good theme for a series in India too !
Please share the link

Thank you for sharing. We are third generation Indian in South Africa. History books also tell us about Dutch East India Company settling in South Africa.
The knowledge, information and resources you are sharing is important and valuable to those who enjoy History without involving politics, simply humanity.

@chefaadityabal3838 Thank you for delving into our East Indian Culture and Food. As the original Mumbai sons of the soil, our story often goes untold, and with many from our community (like myself) having moved away from Mumbai and its Gaothans, shows like yours are a sort of time capsule and showcase for all. Keep up the good work.
wonderful series 👏
She looks like my grandmother...after watching her it reminds me of her. Is she still there? I hope she lives long and healthy.

I think one life is not sufficient to explore different indian culture and regions
The very first recipe shown of Rice flour (Leteri) is also cooked in Kokan Region as Shewale or Ras shevaya which is severed with coconut milk and jaggery.
The coconut shell ladle! 🥥🤎

Wonderful video tracing in detail, the history of the East Indians of Bombay, ( how they their community got to be known as East Indians)their culinary traditions so well explained by Mr. Swamy , the ancient clay pot which remains a precious cooking appliance in East Indian kitchens, as it doubles up as a rustic oven and is acknowledged as the predecessor to the modern ovens.
The rice pudding , the bread made of rice and the fish and vegetable curry made in kanji water with a fiery green chilli masala ,are dishes which should remain the pride of East Indian cuisine.
A big salute to Aditya for the sincere interest and considerable effort he has taken to track down housewives , who still make the flavourful East Indian dishes with such flair and pride like Mrs Henriques and her daughter Switsy.
Also , this video gave us a glimpse of the fabulous heritage homes of the East Indian community
Thank you.
Hi, Thank you for sharing your appreciation and experience with us.
Aditya I love your videos....first time I saw you laugh when Aunty scolded😂Nice mouth watering receipes...
My mother used to make it, it was very tasty
The East Indian aunties used to fill the masala into dark brown beer bottles to preserve the masalas.. nowadays they fill in different bottles and grind it in the masala chakkis as the traditional pounders are scarce
This is sevai of south india .
Aditya in Goa we use to make rice ka roti with fresh cocount and it was cooked on the Tava with leaves it would taste so delicious
And also they make same thing in the handi but sweet and it would cm out as a cake
Thank you ❤

There is a catholic Vadval ethnic tribe from Vasai West near Mumbai with roots of Maharashtrian - Gujarati and lot of influence of Portuguese... Explore their cuisine someday

Agri and Koli communities are originally from Mumbai and theses Hindu communities which got converted to Catholicism became known as East Indian. They share the same ethnic origin and culture
Are they Konkani or Marathi speaker?
@@AS-jo8qh they are marathi speaking
@@AS-jo8qh they are Maharashtrian but during British era therefore forefathers were converted some by gun some willingly we didn't know what condition in that time we just imagine the point is they follow their culture still now some recipe came from Portuguese they have east indian touch also some people think they are goan but they are of Mumbai like we agri koli from my beloved grandmother some they are also buddy मराठीच आहेत भावा ते पण in our shipping boat you have a two symbol cross⛪ and 🚩 same boat that's unity are religion are different but United by fish 🐟 जय महाराष्ट्र भावा 🚩
East Indian because they worked for the East India Company
Mainly from the island of Bombay.
It is not converted, Agri, koli, kulbi etc are east Indian and our forefathers are portugese.
Even thane was given in divory
She is so cute
Our community in this era. Our community is become less.she looks like my grandmother.
..क्या?लिखूं तेरी तारीफ-ए-सूरत में यार..
..अलफ़ाज़ कम पड़ रहे हैं तेरी मासूमियत देखकर..
I'm from konkan we have this I know how to do
Hai aditya❤
English captions pls
Phir se dant padti jab garam matti ko hath lagaya.
Hi where the English auto translate?
*The dish's common English name, "kanji or Congee" is derived from the Tamil word "கஞ்சி" (kañci).* Congee (/ˈkɒndʒiː/, derived from Tamil கஞ்சி [kaɲdʑi]) is a form of savoury rice porridge made by boiling rice in a large amount of water until the rice softens.
East Indians speak good Hindi and Marathi. is this the Swami representation you could find. Please re baba do a good job
Only the ones who live in Vasai Gorai Uttan etc
Swamy na achcha Hindi bol sakta hai aur na acchi English 😂
Mr. Bal always say " Mumbai " and not Bombay.
The guy talks like orry 😅
I have put a dislike because in the initial conversation the interviewee says, “ye log Mumbai ke original inhabitants the..” as if only they were the original inhabitants….meaning those who did not convert aka…the rest were not original inhabitants 🥺 some people are kaing these Nazareth claims on Indian Land and plotting to take properties of Hindus away, claiming the first right as they did in Kashmir! So unfortunate how these religions can make humans into monsters! Cause hey they already made them into sinners….!
So they were traitors who wanted to be loyal to the Portuguese
She sounds like old grandmas of Bombay and gujarat
The lady in the red saree is stunningly beautiful.
Omg.!🤯😮
I suppose the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
portuguese converted not before that trying to show upper and lower class
We call them kupari.....converted Christian during Portugal rule.
Yes true
I would love to watch Bengali food
