Very nice knife! I have a small Alonzo fixed blade that’s my EDC, and I love it. Seems to be very good quality, and it holds an edge fine (it’s 1095, so it’s practical but not too impressive) sharpens quickly, and is designed well. Very comfortable to hold and use, and the blade shape is versatile. It’s also nice looking. Alonzo really knows how to make a good-looking knife.
I thought it was a great review bro. Nobody expected you to be an expert. I just got one and I’m giving it to my girlfriend for hiking and it did great cutting after the abuse you put it through. Ty
Lol that was painful . What bothers me about how bad that knife performed is that People are going to associate that with the Tracker design this knife is a waste of money . for one the Tracker was intended to be a multi-tool of the woods but no saw back and I have my doubts that’s Carbon steel have you tried to get sparks off that with some Chert or flint ( not a ferro rod actual flint rock )my TOPS Tracker does .The idea of the Tracker was to be a WSK wilderness survival knife you will not survive with this .
You are absolutely right. I own the Bark River Trakker and the Schanz WSK and both knives are really good. These knives have a specific purpose, you have to know the philosophy behind the design and how to use it right.
Pretty thorough testing, my friend, not bad (the knife and the testing both). I have a similarly styled knife from Bobcat Knives that I bought last year (still new and unused, LOL, but I've picked up a LOT of knives since then and have been lazy on getting out to play with many them 😜🤣). Great review, happy weekend, brother 😊✌
@@greenwealthnwellness Idk if you’re still looking for a sheath, but if you are, my advice would be to go to your local saddle shop or leather shop and commission a custom sheath for your knife.
See the problem is they are designed for some light work yes but it is supposed to serve as a fighting and defense weapon I own a few trackers and they all have the few issue we see here
That’s incorrect, it was meant for survival, surviving in the wild means mostly building shelter, tools and traps. You can read the history of Tom Brown and the tracker design online.
I was still optimistic after the first paper test, but that knife performed very poorly on everything. Never should it take so many strikes to chop through a 1 inch stick. The scrape test failed miserably; I have made much larger scraping piles with much smaller blades with far fewer scrapes. Even given the low skill level, that knife should have feathered waaaay better than it did. I'm totally unimpressed with that tool. You didn't test the curler, but I can guess the results. Maybe try a few other trackers, maybe a bit heavier up front, and see what you think. Maybe splurge a bit and drop $70 on one that comes with a sheath and stone. I think you'll see the difference and raise your standards. Trackers are workhorses, designed for everything from curling fatwood tinder bundles all the way up to chopping medium sized fuel wood and even notching hard wood for load-bearing and shelter type structures. Sure, they're beastly, ugly & a bit heavier than other outdoor blades, but try curling a 9" diameter ball of fatwood in 15 seconds with a Mora Whatever. Not. Gonna. Happen. Good video, sir. Thank you exposing this for me.
Bro, you seem to be left handed like me, and you are going to ef up your watch mechanisms doing all that chopping (or any other jolting tast) with your left hand...instead wear your watch on your right wrist, like proper left hander.
Price means nothing 😂 although if someone offerd me a £10 knife thats insanely good and a £100k bad knife id take the bad knife any day of the week lol
Alonzo Knives are bad because they do animal testing and are deforesting and pollute the ozone and have gluten and are GMO. Also, they listen to gangster rap so loud it makes the neighborhood upset. Jokes aside, I'm sure they perform about as well as any Tracker. Frankly, I think a medium size bowie can do anything a tracker can do but better. But, I just ordered one, so we'll see. Good review.
@@OhioBladeandCutlery I got it today. I was a little disappointed that the blade grind was the same on both cutting edges; I thought tracker knives are supposed to be hollow on the short edge and flat on the curved edge- Please correct me if I'm wrong. All-in-all I'm happy with it. Blade is decent, handle is impressive, and the sheath is a home run. The sheath is so cool, it's my favorite thing about the knife. I'm happy with my purchase.
You should've got the bigger one by tops or the sxb, have you ever tried a puukko knife from Finland, a terava jaakaripukko 110 or 140,also they have a 240 called the skrama, it's like a giant clever knife as a chopper, check out varusteleka.com, you won't be disappointed
@@OhioBladeandCutlery ,ok kool,I'm glad to help, yeah I love mine, edge retention is decent on mine since I've received it in mid April, not hair sharp but still sharp for carving tasks, I'm going to attempt to touch it up before my camping trip in October. It's tough as hell like their saying, it's no bullshit knife, an they ain't kidding. So next I'm getting a skrama ,it's a 33 degree angle edge except towards the eecassa, that one is 23 or 25 for finer task such as feather sticks an what not,an I say their sheaths are awesome, good retention without snapping the button ,but I'm not sure on the skrama sheath.

Ohio Blade and Cutlery if I ever get around to using it 🤦🏻♂️😂
The trolls that complain about the knives are the ones you don’t even own one.
Yeah, typically
I have one and the sheath is falling apart the knife itself is pretty decent
I haven’t had any issues with the sheath so far. Sucks yours is falling apart!
yea same my sheath fell apart do u know where i could get a replacement?

Same job than "original" for cheap 😉

Cool, you’ll have to let me know what you think
Same here
Not a bad video
Thank you sir
I’d rather have 10 of those for $250 vs 1 $300 Tom brown tracker. We’ll just all take down the guy with the real one 😆
😂😂😂
Use softer wood instead of oak
This looks dull, the edge isn’t biting, the batoning looked terrible.
I would love a nice knife I could chop all day with 😂 that knife look kinda light?
It’s about as weighty as you’d expect. Not unusually light.

Probably my Benchmade 560bk-1801 right now. Love the natural G10 and M4 blade

I think the knife needs to be longer so and have a little more weight so you can power chop easier

It's not a Tops
Nope, sure isn’t.
Can barely hear you in your video. Good knife though
