Until seeing Robert Lamb in this video saying King Micah was not the Red Knight I always thought King Micah was the Red Knight. It's nice finally knowing for sure that King Micah is not the Red Knight. I do wish they would have had a second episode with the Red Knight telling more about who is. After The Red Knight episode he is never mentioned again.
I recently rewatched She-Ra and reached the same conclusion before watching this video. While Red Knight is clearly not King Micah (I mean, after watching Micah's episode, at that point it's clear they're not the same guy), it's also equally clear to me that Red Knight was *intended* to be Micah, but then at some point later during the show's production they decided to make King Micah an entirely unrelated character.
This is my understanding as well, the red knight was clearly writen to be the king and he even said that had he read the script before he wrote his that he would have made him Micah.
This of course begs the question, who IS the Red Knight? He has to be someone Queen Angela would recognize, so if he's not Micah, he would have to be someone either A) she knew personally or B) was important in her kingdom/court before the rise of the Horde. Honestly, my personal theory is that he might be a robot Micah built. But he could also be an important prince or else king of some other Etherian kingdom that fell to the Horde that Angela would've spoken with a lot.
My sister thinks the Red Knight is He-man. He sounds like him. He acts a lot like him minis the "Fear not! The Red Knight is here!". (Though that could be him trying to maintain character so no one suspects him. It would be important to keep his identities a secret if he ever returned to Etherea as if they know, they could follow him into the portal to Eternia again. He-man did help save Queen Angelica, so that would explain any voice recognition if it was him. What do you think? Is He-man the Red Knight?
@@nathenewendzel1825 The problem with He-Man being the Red Knight is two things: One, He-Man is way more buff than the Knight, and two, there's several episodes where He-Man appears under his regular identity.
Great job Jukka, James, and Rob!! It is nice to finally put that theory to rest. But, I still want to know who the Red Knight actually was since he wasn't Micah! lol I think I'll call him Fred XD

Awesome video. I guess We will never know the identity of The Red Knight...Unless by some miracle he gets a Classics Figure one day. Yes I know The line is in hibernation.
Perhaps. But it wouldn’t answer what a Filmation writer in 80s had in their mind. I know at one point Classics had this mindset of ”we will give answers to your age-old questions” but they are simply creating their own little take. :) (which we saw that other employees at Mattel ignored couple times like all DC Comics stories have shown 🤣)

Anyone who thought that the red knight was king micah is so dumb and clueless lol. It was OBVIOUS it wasn't king micah when they revealed that micah was a prisoner of the hoarde in horade world in a later episode. That should have been your clue that micah wasn't the red knight duh !! By the time micah got away and escaped horde world she-she and the rest have already met the red knight months or even years before. I do have a theory on who the red knight and it sure as hell isn't king micah lol. No, My theory is the red knight is bow's father or someone related to him. The reason i think that is how heavily the played bow and the red knight together in the episode.
But he man and she ra 's episodes were not in order. So, it could have been. And then, who was the red noght? Besides, I guess the episodes were written by different people. So, may be, the person who wrote about the red knight was thinking about Angela,a husband.
Wrong !! Hordak didn't give a crap about the red knight. He wanted to capture Queen angelica. He even said so in the episode or didn't you actually watch it ? Hordak didn't want revenge against the red knight, He just wanted to capture queen angelica, Believing if he had her as his prisoner it would end the rebellion. So you OBVIOUSLY DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT HERE LOL.

It was a popular theory among fans for many years. But I am glad Rob was able to clear things out for anyone curious. 👍

Thank you guys , RED KNIGHT is one of my favorite characters , always want the classics figure
He would’ve been a cool addition in Classics.
His voice sounds like He-man. My sister is convinced that he is He-man in disguise.
PERHAPS...The Red Knight is Micah's brother? So Angella would recognize the voice, and the two men would have similar qualities. Just a thought.
That sounds like a very good theory to Me.

Maybe Adam /He Man from alternate reality
It could be retconned. But a very messy one indeed.

Angela's husband
