@@mrdad-zl9zl not really. It took some effort at first but videos like this helped me a lot. Don't forget that fruits and vegetables are already vegan. Canola oil is vegan. Salt is vegan. Most sugar is vegan (not all). Rice and most beans are vegan (unless canned). Vegan foods and home products are easily accessible in most western countries. I guess the mindset isn't something you can just buy at the store but people that watch these videos are probably sympathetic already.
@@mrdad-zl9zl My experience has been completely different to what you're describing. At first I was seeing a nutritionist and checking what each meal contained but I realised it was unnecessary unless you have a really unbalanced diet in the first place. Most able-bodied and able-minded adults can work out a balanced and regular diet, vegan or not.
BTW i don't usually measure things so much, (like what I put in smoothies or the hummus I'm eating lol) I was trying to be more precise so that I could include the costs of what I was eating in the video.. But then ended up not having time to calculate everything before I was to post for the sponsor lol so maybe next time though!!!!!
oh wow okay so, from my understanding as an Indian lass raised on dal, the difference between dal and a lentil curry is the absence of curry in the former! I think! So the British didn't know what to call Indian food and labeled everything curry but curry is a spice! Dal is lentils, water, turmeric, salt, red chili powder, and pepper all to taste. You roast garlic and cumin seeds separately and add it to the dal when it's almost done.. Nothing much else (I'll throw in a tomato and GARNISH THAT SHIT with cilantro). Curries get a little hectic. There you go, 8 months later. A recipe.
Sheena biggerstaff Awww, good for you!😊 Becoming vegan must have been hard for you! I'm blessed to have two sissies who are vegan with me in my house! It makes grocery shopping super easy! Hehe😝
hey em! :) I just wanted to let ya know that these videos have drastically improved my relationship with food over the last year and I'm v grateful that i stumbled across such a cool human. soo, thank u so so much for that, ily!
So i've recently discovered you & your channel which means i've spent the last couple of days binge-watching your old videos soooo this is the first one i'm watching just after it's gone up & i'm having such a good time!!1!1!!!1! Just wanted to say thankyou for existing & sharing quality content with the interwebs xoxo
i love watching your videos because it gives me a real ideas of how to make easy but good vegan food into my diet and it's actually realistic to my schedule ya know ?
I can not express to you how HAPPY I AM THAT YOU POSTED!!!!!!!!! Emily thank you thank you thank you I love your videos and your personality and your commentary i'm rewatching all your videos and you posteddd this honestly made my entire dayyyy
I was vegan for a year and a half and I’ve been vegetarian for over 3 years and the one thing I always enjoy is finding alternatives to foods and food made out of healthier stuff. Like I love green lentil pasta and nutritional yeast with vegan sausages and garlic it’s so yummy.
I’ve been taking a break from veganism on the advice of a physician to explore other avenues that will be beneficial for my current mental and physical health. But regardless of where my diet/lifestyle ends up, I will always watch your videos! You have a very calming presence. Thank you for what you do, Emily!
i haven't been on your channel for a while and GIRL! you look so good! not that you didn't before lol but you r glowing and looking fresh af, love it for you
I’m still bummed sweet tomatoes closed the location in my city. Eating an obscene amount of salad is the best. I don’t like pumpkin spice stuff but this year I tried Califia’s Gingerbread Latte. It is really good & makes me feel fallish/holidayish. Worth trying if you like flavors like that, though I dilute it with cold brew because it is fairly sweet & probably not the healthiest to drink by the mug full every morning. Maybe a homemade seitan ham for the holiday dinner video? Vegan chocolate pots de creme or something?
Has anyone ever told you that you're a good cook? As for the dahl thing, I think dahl is just boiled lentils, it's my fav 2. When I cook it, I boil some red lentils in water with a bit of turmeric and a little olive oil. I then heat up some refined coconut oil, add cumin, fry up some onion, a jalapeno and a bit of ginger. I add this to the cooked dahl, add some coriander spice and salt, and serve with basmati or long grain rice. Curry is more you just have a heavily spiced mixture of ingredients and cook it all together, so yeah, maybe your cooking a curry if the predominant ingredient is not lentils, but dang it looks good.
My Mexican ass is shook with that pumpkin spice concha, I need it in my life. Also, please tell me I’m not the only human who hates sweet potatoes! I find them freaking gross and they’re ALWAYS in the vegan options
Your channel recently came up in my feed and I'm happy! I enjoy your aesthetic and I really appreciate your plant-based-is-normal vibe. I've been completely plant-based for almost 2 years. After Lyme disease I can no longer digest animal protein. Rededicating my palate was easier than I thought, so those who are working to be completely plant-based: Hang in there! After a few months, you won't miss the taste of animal products as much and eventually you won't feel like something is missing. Watch videos like this one to give you ideas for realistic eating. I also recommend Mary's Test Kitchen if you enjoy cooking from scratch.
i love how realistic these “what i eat in a week” food videos are. your personality is what made me subscribe but i feel like such a creep watching month old videos, pls upload more 😭 good luck on finals!
If you don't like musli this way, try letting it soak in plant milk or even better yogurt overnight and grate an apple/pear into it the next morning! It's basically overnight oats or bircher but its super good that way :)
Dale is usually made with green split peas! At least in Trinidad (where I’m from) my grandma always made it with split peas so I think that might be the main difference
i want to but for now, some of the thanksgiving video recipes might help for christmas too like the veggies & the pies?? & then i also have a christmas cookie video from like 2 yrs ago also lol
Emily I just wanted to say that your putting-a-lil-apple-juice-with-the-spinach-first idea from an old video SAVED my smoothies. Sincerely, a crybaby who doesn't like greens powder
14:23 had me dying! 😂 That kind of stuff happens to me all the time. Love your videos! They help me with vegan meal ideas since I want to eat more plant based! 💕
Literally got emotional when I saw the cinnamon rolls :') Also the ramen looked great and I have to try the pb&j idea! All in all great work, loved the vid
Vegan pozole is v easy actually just don’t add the meat into the soup and make sure everything else you might add is vegan and that’s it, my mom makes it that way and it tastes pretty good. As for tamales idk since I’m not much of a fan.
ANNA. iSSS me and my tias make vegan tamales they are so goood 😪 i know there’s a local place in my town that does vegan tamales but i’ve never tried them :o glad it’s an option tho for ppl who don’t know how to make em
I know this is a year late and I have never had bobs red mill muesli but I eat other muesli all the time and I just eat it as a cold cereal. Eating it with milk of your choice or yogurt of your choice is great. No need to soak.
I havn't been able to find the Bryers vegan ice cream in stores yet :( Sweet tomatos was my favorite place when I was a kid! I had no idea they'd be so vegan friendly. I'll have to go soon!

You make being vegan look so effortless I just might have to
That's why these videos are BS. You have to take veganism really seriously and plan it out. It takes more than just eating healthy vegan foods
Yeah it can be simpler than a lot make it out to be! Definitely worth trying 😊😊
