Diesel parts in the fuel system wear faster due to diesel being dryer and almost like gasoline as opposed to diesel from 30 years ago.
Ex: look at all the old diesel powered equipment from back then . They very rarely had fuel related issues.
Nice video but needs more detail on the pump swap.

I recently got an '04 5.9. It leaks in the mornings but once it warms up it stops leaking, would you know the cause of the leaking but stoppage after warming up? Would recommend a lift pump replacement? Thanks

That sounds like a gasket(or seal) shrinking when cold compared to swelling when it’s hot. If it’s leaking around the lift pump then you may just need a new seal around it. But at that point it may just benefit you you to change out the pump while your there since it’s such a common issue for them to go out.

Could the lift pump going bad cause hard start and fuel pressure drops under load? But runs fine otherwise

It’s very possible, I would also look into the fuel pressure regulator and make sure it isn’t clogged or anything
