    As always another great review. Maybe I’ve lost that part, but how many time can you get with a single charge of the battery (100 & 160)? Do you think it makes sense to carry one if you are the only one in the group that has it, or it is better if all the group has it?
    Thank you

      Thank you buddy. 🙏🏻 The standard battery will give you around 60 minutes runtime, the larger battery about 90 minutes.
      It'll be more fun if everyone in the group has one, but I don't see why you shouldn't use one even if you're the only one in the group. Compared to everyone else in the group you'll conserve energy. Also, your buddy can hold on to you and one scooter can even pull more than just one diver through the water. 😉

    Ver helpful video, thank you. I only wish I had seen it during the Kickstarter. Even so, I think I am going to order one and use it here in the currents and drift diving here in Southern Florida.

      I know it's been rather quiet around James lately. From what I know he's very busy teaching students leaving him no time to create new videos at the moment. You know how he always says: "Students come always first!" 😉

    I have a Lefeet S1. Its a good product. With that said it had some issues. A minor one is for people who snorkel its not even close to neutral buoyant. A fixed this by making my own nose cone adapter. The second issue is the remote and not talking with the remote because its BT. I had this issue a number of times and I had to send it back for a replacement. Battery bars are worthless, what they need is the amount of time left in minutes

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  7 місяців тому +2

      Thanks for your comment mate. The negative buoyancy thing is solved by the extra available buoyancy sleeve, making the P1 pretty much neutrally buoyant.
      I can't say much about the wireless connection issues you experienced. I've never had any issues with the connection. Not on my S1 Pros nor on the new P1 units. It's always worked flawlessly for me.

    Hey matthias
    I am looking for a portable underwater scooter for snorkelling and your videos have been very useful- thank you.
    I am looking at the lefeet p1 and smart edge k5 bot are modular designs.
    Which one would you recommend considering the k5 is much more cost-effective than P1.

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  3 місяці тому +1

      Hey buddy, thanks for your feedback. Glad to hear that my videos have been useful so far.
      The Edge K5 is a little smaller, but it's not modular, so you can't expand it or attach a second using to it, making it more powerful. This is all possible with the P1. So the P1 wins for me in terms of versatility, but the Edge K5 wins if sheer size is your main concern.
      Hope that helps a little with your decision making?
      Cheers,
      Matthias

    So thinking about buying one. I want to use it primarily for freediving and spearfishing. Do you think the P1 is that much better? Do you know when it will come out and whether the s1 will be discontinued?

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  6 місяців тому +1

      Well, it does the same thing as the S1 Pro. The built quality is a little higher, yes, and if you go with the larger battery it’s also a bit more powerful. But other than that the main functions are the same. It’s the little things that make a difference in my opinion, like the reverse charging capability, so you can use the batteries as power banks as well. It charges through USB-C, so no need to bring an extra charger on a trip. You can use the one from your laptop. It’s these small things that make it better than the S1 Pro to me personally. If you have the budget, go for the P1. If you don’t want to spend the extra couple hundred $, go for the S1 Pro. It’s going to serve you very well too.
      I hope this helps?

    Hallo @Matthias, danke Dir für dieses wie immer tolle Review!
    Ich habe den P1 auch schon geordert und freue mich ihn dann im Herbst mit Tankmount ausprobieren zu können.
    Eine Frage: Wie schwer/lange ist die Eingewöhnung? Ich denke der Scooter hat einen massiven Einfluss auf deine Tiefe und vor allem auf dem Tank bedarf es etwas Übung das Level zu halten?
    Würde mich sehr über Deine Einschätzung hierzu freuen.
    Danke und liebe Grüße in die Schweiz! 👋

    • @MatthiasLebo

      Vielen Dank für dein Feedback. Freut mich, dass dir der Review gefallen hat.
      Ja, es braucht tatsächlich ein bisschen Eingewöhungszeit wenn du die Scooter am Tank oder den Beinen festmachst. Es dauert aber nur ein paar Minuten und du wirst den Dreh raus haben. Gerade wenn du den Scooter am Tank hast musst du darauf achten, die beine ausgestreckt zu lassen, so dass du den Schub des Scooters nicht mit deinen Flossen abbremst oder ablenkst. Und dann lenkst du einfach in dem du einen Kopf und Oberkörper hoch, runter, links oder rechts bewegst. Recht intuitiv und super spassig. 😊
      Ich wünsche dir jetzt schon viel Spass damit.
      Liebe Grüsse aus Zürich
      Matthias

    What are your thoughts on the noise of the P1? I have used the S1 Pro and it seems to be quite noisy.

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  4 місяці тому +1

      The P1 is considerably less noisy than the S1 Pro in my opinion. You can obviously still hear it, but I don't find it to be bad at all.

    Questions please:
    1. Is there a way to adjust the buoyancy of the unit to suit the diver's needs?
    2. Did you actually try the leg and tank mounts in water? Are they realy practical (if you actually tried them)?
    3. How does the unit do if you use it on surface?
    4. How does it do when wearing full kit and a carrying a housed camera with all accessories?
    Thank you for the update?

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  7 місяців тому +1

      Hey mate, thanks for your questions.
      1. Yes, LEFEET is selling a buoyancy sleeve which should make the unit neutrally buoyant.
      2. Yes, I try both, attaching one unit to my tank and also 2 units to my legs. Both options work quite well, but it takes some getting used to. Once you got the hang of it, it is so much fun, especially the leg mount.
      3. Great! I can definitely see this unit being used to help divers with long surface swims to and from dive sites.
      4. Absolutely fine. It had no problems whatsoever pulling me through the water wearing a heavy dry suit and camera gear, even in the lowest power setting.
      Hope this helps?

    I didnt hear you mention noise level as a pro or con. How loud is it to operate underwater? Ive heard other channels refer to a high pitch whine from the motors of scooters scaring away marine life.

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  13 днів тому

      True, I didn't say anything about it because I didn't really notice much during my testings. Sure, you can hear some noise while the rotors are spinning, but I didn't find it disturbing at any time and neither seemed the fish and other marine life around me.

    • @starhawke380
      @starhawke380 13 днів тому

      @MatthiasLebo that's why i was curious about the noise level. I don't know what brand of scooter was in the other video with snorkelers, but it was audible on his camera mic from over 100yds away.
      Hope these are quieter. I've never used a scooter, but im getting up in years and with my back issues, a scooter would be handy.

    I just received my P1 and I am excited about the new features and the performance. Watching your video gave me more insight to the capabilities and the expectations. I will be in the water with it this week. I do like the carrying case you did show with the unit and I am going to look this up on the Lefeet web page. The information on the difference between both batteries and what the expectation of performance will be is also a good fact. I would have ordered the optional 160 wt battery as well.
    Great job with your presentation and adding to the confidence of my purchase.

    So how are they coming to 90 minute run times, if you do some basic maths given the detail in the specs you get times like this for the 160Wh battery:
    Max Speed 2.3m/s = 1000w
    160/1000 = (16*60) = 9.6 minutes run time
    50% speed 1.15m/s = 500w
    160/500 = (32*60) = 19.2 minutes run time
    25% Speed 0.57m/s = 250w
    160/250 = (64*60) = 38.4 minutes run time
    12.5% speed 0.28m/s = 125w
    160/125 = (128*60) = 75 minutes run time
    So average runtime would be around 20 minutes at best, not 90!

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  7 місяців тому

      Thank you for your comment and the calculation.
      Like every manufacturer, LEFEET is calculating the maximum battery runtime based on the device being used in the lowest power setting (1 out of 5 on the 160WH battery and 1 out to 4 on the 100WH battery) and in ideal environmental situations (probably pulling a free diver or snorkeler and not a fully rigged up diver).
      Like with every other electronica device this number is an estimate and not set in stone as there are so many factors like i.e. water temperature that can have an effect on the battery run time.
      I can tell you from my personal, practical experience that both the 160Wh as well as the 100WH batteries have sufficient power to get you through a regular dive, keeping in mind that you typically won't be running the scooter non-stop for 60minutes, but using it on and off as you go through the dive.
      If you want a scooter that can run continuously for hours, you'll have to look at larger, traditional and more expensive models.
