There are 50 videos just like this with Duramax, Ford, Chevy, old school trucks, new school trucks, all popping wheelies and pulling the 40,000LB sled. Check them out here: ua-cam.com/video/AYMTbgJUyfs/v-deo.html
Sinister six looks like it's all show no go. Appears to be the newest, most outlandish and expensive of the trucks in this video.. but doesn't perform on the sled pull as well as any of them.
Sinister Six was a demonstration. He could easily pull the sled across the line but wasn't in the competition. It was for demonstration as the announcer said. Sinister Six mods outside Mod requirements.
We take all competitors as they are. Some of our competitors compete for points, some for national points, and some just for exhibition. That is what this guy was, an exhibition hook. I had asked him to bring several of his trucks out. Google/UA-cam, "The truck that broke the Internet". This guy built his truck like that truck, but the other one is WAY BIGGER. But that is why this video did so good. That and the thumbnail and the description I used because I knew it was built in the image of the other truck.
So the sinister truck “looks cool” but as one who doesn’t always watch these events. Shouldn’t the sinister truck be able to do a full pull or does it need a drivers mod?
It's an impressive machine but looks silly with that truck chassis perched on top of it. Same goes for all lifted trucks with a separate suspension frame.
I find it funny people are ragging on Sinister Six but that thing had a lot more mass on that pull to deal with vs the other trucks. It had way more tire mass to turn, drive line was maybe 2x the length which looses a lot of torque and its far heavier to just move itself. All those problems lead to the real nail which is lack of speed, any of the trucks had such a slow start as SS6 had then they would not have gotten much further. The truck is not weak but its negatives combined with a pull that uses speed as its main function is what held it back. Keep in mind that sled goes from rolling weight to dead weight. If this was a dead weight pull then it might have been a different story. The truck is still a all show type of truck but then again thats what it was built for.
With that amount of tire and size I assume the 1st pull he was trying to be gentle as to not blow out the Dropbox or the rest of the drivetrain. On the 2nd pull he twisted the rear drive shaft up. Would be nice to see what that truck can really do with a more beefier drive train right now it's just a show pony.
Matt Perkins and his '85 White/Orange Chevy won both rounds. He pulled the furthest on both of his runs. But this is an exhibition class only. A sled operator told me not to put distances on these. What do you think? Should we keep adding distances?
I don't want people to miss out, so we post these videos. I know Prius owners who do this stuff as well as warehouse racing. Idk but I think you can hear the truck shifting up in gear, it sounds like he’s letting off but it might just be going to a lower rpm because of the gears. Not sure if intentional tho
