Facts there's other great Melodeath bands, but Insomnium are the best in my opinion because the emotion they capture in their songs is just incredible not to say other Melodeath bands don't but with Insomnium it's every song, Shadows of the Dying Sun, One For Sorrow, Weighed Down By Sorrow, The Promethean Song, While We Sleep, etc. They're just a phenomenal band.
@@Bosco-nq2kk This song IMO captivates the feeling of loss and the range of emotions stemming from it. I do understand that it obviously doesn't do it for everyone, so I don't think it's fair for anyone to attack you for it if you don't feel what others feel.
Insomnium are one of those bands you kinda have to help you feel when you have trouble. Like, when you need to feel a bit gloomy and explore those feelings, Insomnium are the band I turn towards. A lot of their songs portray themes like sorrow and loss for these reasons I believe, because it is good sometimes to let yourself go and feel things that perhaps you have been holding back. If you wanted to listen to more of their stuff / react to more. I'd heartily recommend: While We Sleep Through The Shadows One For Sorrow (The music video especially, but the song itself is quite emotional for me) Ephemeral Thank you for the awesome reaction and the content you create, much love
seriously insomnium is magic for me. when i'm depressed and ruined they do some kinda shit to me and it makes me feel better. easily my all time favorite band.
Revelation (with the lyric video), mindblowing and uplifting, Out To the Sea, the amazing guitar part... and the whole atmosphere. They are Masters of creating that "Aura".
Man, Insomnium is real art. Melodic death metal in general takes you on a journey, (for example winters gate ) provokes true feelings. My fav from Insomnium is bereavement. Not very popular song but i love it to death.
Insomnium make some of the most beautiful, if not THE most beautiful music in all of metal. What's crazy is their song making is only getting better as they evolve: better vocals, instrumentals, production, etc.
This is truly a beautiful song, there's so much dynamicism, contrast, melody, dissonance, harmony, brutality. It's all there, and the lyrics are great too!
PLEASE. Do a *one take* Reaction to Winter's Gate by Insomnium!!! It's their most incredible album, and it's a concept album that forms a single 40minute flowing song of perfection. The lyrics were a short story about Vikings going on a raid, and dying on their way home while chasing a the treasure of a great golden wolf with six legs, the come upon a gate that was made by the Gods, and then the demons of winter are released from it (sort of). It was written by the bassist/vocalist/lyracist that won an award in Finland from what I read. They brought the idea to Nuclear Blast records and they approved making an album out of it. It's a mix of their special flavor of melodic death metal but they added a touch of black metal influence to it as well. It is my favorite album to play through on guitar and one of my favorites to sing along to. You will absolutely love it, I hope to see you make a video on it!!
I like the Album Shadows of the Dying Sun more, but luckily Winters gate is like one song, so i can say its my favourite SONG by them ;) See what i did there
Boy, where have you been? Insomnium is one of the best bands in metal and at the top of my list. They cover every emotion and always end up laying you at the gates of peace. Dig deeper and you’ll find everything you could need.
According to Wikipedia, Niilo, the vocalist/lyricist has a degree in literature and history of culture. Even though English is not his mother tongue, this fact just shines through his lyrics. Definitely some poetic veins going on there.
If you like this, I think Wintersun - Loneliness (Winter) would be a good choice for [W]. You can feel the emotions in the music. It's such a haunting song.
Insomnium is just one of those bands (or maybe THE band) that understands perfectly how to put such delicate topics like grief and sorrow into music that you can really feel and relate to. They are perhaps the only band that I know of where those growling vocals are not really "harsh", but instead really pleasing, soul-touching and almost hauntingly beautiful. You could play any of their songs to a person who really dislikes metal music in general and you would get a reaction like "wait... this is metal, but it's... nice?", because it's thoroughly enjoyable for anyone. Every time I listen to one of their songs I can feel the emotions they've put into it, and I'm picturing the solitude of those gloomy autumn days in the finnish taiga forests with their fir and spruce trees, fog rolling through the landscape and a crackling fireplace flaring in a wooden cabin. This music just ticks all the boxes to take you out of your everyday hustle and to put you in a place of serenity and composure, giving your mind a well-deserved rest. For a follow-up reaction I would suggest "Heart Like A Grave" or "Weighed Down With Sorrow", which are a bit slower, but equally phenomenal.
Its a beautiful song, filled with emotion. Great reaction Alex \m/ You gotta try Wintersun - Loneliness (winter) its in the same category as this one. Jari wrote the song after loosing his dad, and its so packed with emotion!

I genuinely cry EVERY SINGLE TIME I listen to this song, and many other songs from Insomnium. They're just unbelievable. I love them so much. I recommend you to listen to some of my favorites: Heart Like a Grave One For Sorrow Winter's Gate (Pt.4) Daughter Of The Moon

Insomnium is incredible! You need to do Winter's Gate (pt. 1-7) in one shot. you can break up the videos to post, but please listen to it all in one sitting. It's one, seven part, 40 minute song. Its absolutely incredible. Insomnium deserves so much more attention than they get from reactors! Dive in! For the letter T - The Acacia Strain - Sensory Deprivation. I was suppose to see insomium last april but a week before covid shut everything down, they are amazing and the last few years have grown to become one of my fav bands. Id recommend the song the river by them is so intense but again beautiful at the same time keep up the awesome reactions
I saw a comment on your last Judas Priest video suggesting their 1984 song, The Sentinel. The 1986 live version from their Fuel For Life tour is absolutely mindblowing. A newly sober Rob Halford is at his absolute peak and the whole performance is a joy to experience. In my opinion, it's one of their best and heaviest songs. So, for J, I'd like to suggest Judas Priest - The Sentinel, live from their Fuel For Life tour in 1986. If not for your ABCs-series, you'd be missing out if you did not listen and react to it at another time!
For J, I'd love to see you take on Job For A Cowboy, since you never have! They're a sick band, and normally I'd suggest Entombment of a Machine, however, I think their musicianhip on the albums after that would blow you away!
It's crazy how whenever I'm in the mood to swap up what I'm listening to you pop up in the search results with a recent video of what I'm searching for.
This song, and their equally amazing Heart Like A Grave have gotten me through my darkest moments during the loss of my mom, and your description of the conflicting emotions of grief, and your summary of this song is so spot on I have chills! Please, Please react to Heart Like A Grave!!!
I miss my Maria so much. Since she passed away nearly two years ago, I have been in agony. I see her everywhere. When people talk to me, I wonder how she would have put it and what she'd think of my response. I think of how her eyes would flash wish exasperation when I sneaked a fart in the queue at the grocer's only to blame someone else's behind for the misdeed, promising impending doom once we were outta there. But most of all I remember the nights just laying there, talking. The heat of her body against mine, her taking my hand, whispering, "I love you". Sometimes we'd lie like that for hours, with or without words because none were needed. I think of everything about her and what we had. She was the only one for me and she took my heart with her. I refuse to let go of her because I simply can not. Love you baby, forever and always. 😭😭😭
Alex my dude, thank you so much for choosing this song. I had recommended this song on your "H" video. This song means so much to me personally. It released in the year following my grandmother's death. She was the cornerstone of our family and one of the kindest, warmest people I've ever known. The very first time I heard this song I came to tears and even now my eyes water as the words and emotions flow through me. I imagine it from the point of view of my grandpa, who thankfully is still with us, and all the pain he goes through on a daily basis to not have someone with him that he was married to for over 55 years. It's a sobering song of loss, pain, and the hope of reuniting at the end. Thank you so much again for picking the song I recommended. I'm glad you enjoyed and understand it much the same way as myself. Peace.
You said ones if I'm not mistaken you are more of a metalhead now. But now you are starting to understand what metal is al about and it's not just the music. So nice to see you're starting to feel it in your soul.
This album (Heart Like a Grave) blew me away, instant favorite. I mean I knew it was going to be great after hearing this song and the title track, pre-release... But then when my ears bathed in the melancholic splendor of songs like "Mute is My Sorrow", "Twilight Trails", and "The Offering" it vaulted to album of the year for me, passing Evergrey's "the Atlantic" (another excellent album).
You reacted to their song While We Sleep and it was the first time I heard them. Thanks to that reaction I discovered one of the most beautiful metal bands. Love them!
Ah, this made my day, I'm a little sick after getting some vaccines yesterday (I'm currently in the army) and I thought I had to run the Cooper test. Then you react to my favourite band, and one of their best songs, seriously made my day so much better! Also, they just told me I don't have to run today, since I have some fever! Even though I feel horrible, there seems to be something good in this day. Thank you!
Damn! That note at 6:40 just freakin’ hit! I’m not one for music where I can’t make out the lyrics but the ABC’s of metal have introduced so many new songs that I’ve grown to appreciate despite the growling.

Peace.
Judas Priest - Beyond The Realms Of Death, Living After Midnight, Diamonds and Rust
You said ones if I'm not mistaken you are more of a metalhead now. But now you are starting to understand what metal is al about and it's not just the music. So nice to see you're starting to feel it in your soul.
You definitely have to do more insomnium reactions in the future! /,,/
Bro, you have to react to "heart like a grave" After the ABCs of metal yourney! Don't sleep on this
You reacted to their song While We Sleep and it was the first time I heard them. Thanks to that reaction I discovered one of the most beautiful metal bands. Love them!
For J:
Judas Priest - Judas Rising
Judicator - The Queen of all cities
Jane's Addiction - Mountain Song
This entire album is both amazing, and deeply saddening from start to finish. Hands down the best album I heard in 2019.
Insomnium - in the groves of death
Do it.
Insomnium. It was the last show I saw before this corona *****.
The show was amazing. Everybody had a huge smile eventhough the music is so somber. ☺️
YASS THIS is literally my favourite band ever and one of their best fucking songs.
Their music reads like beautiful poetry with amazing melodies!!!!
Judas Priest - Breaking the Law
He already reacted to that
@@wulf2863 I was looking up which ones he did, didn't find it anywhere
Insomnium is the band that made instantly love black melodic metal
My first album I ever listened to, was Across the Dark.... in 2014❤️
[P] - Parasite Inc. - "The Pulse Of The Dead"
I'd also recommend once and for all
Both of them!! \m/

The Shadowing
Sun of all
🤞
Ah, this made my day, I'm a little sick after getting some vaccines yesterday (I'm currently in the army) and I thought I had to run the Cooper test. Then you react to my favourite band, and one of their best songs, seriously made my day so much better! Also, they just told me I don't have to run today, since I have some fever! Even though I feel horrible, there seems to be something good in this day. Thank you!
Jinjer - Home Back
Retrospection mught be more impactful
That would be great as it talks about the war and he likes to touch the lyrics
You can't go wrong with any Jinjer song!
Damn! That note at 6:40 just freakin’ hit!
I’m not one for music where I can’t make out the lyrics but the ABC’s of metal have introduced so many new songs that I’ve grown to appreciate despite the growling.
J - Jinjer please
