I assume that plenty of would-be priests out there are staying away because they want to serve Christ, but instead they are being offered a position akin to an NGO volunteer. I understand and feel for them.
They need to revive the Latin rite Tridentine liturgy with the priest facing the high altar with his back to the congregation. And stop the nauseatingly protestant congregational hymn singing in the vernacular. And celebrate most masses as low or unsung mass. They also need to shorten the seminary training which is grossly over-done considering that this is a non-technical occupation. The Church of England, which incidentally is culturally superior to the RC church, only needs 2 years of divinity school for ordination. That’s all it needs to take. And go back to only requiring a bachelor’s of divinity for ordination. It’s not really necessary to have married priests because nobody in his right mind really wants to get married anymore anyway.

I attend mass in a parish run by the Jesuits which is also the diocesan shrine of The Sacred Heart of Jesus. At the end of the mass last Sunday the parish priest announced a good news, 4 priest was recently ordained and 8 new seminarians will enter the Jesuit order. The parish is doing really great, kudos to the parish council, youth ministry, cathechism ministry, parish apostolate team, extra ordinary ministers, liturgical team and many other groups. There's a great collaboaration between clergy and the laity. They have also been actively sending missionaries to China since the parish is primarily a Filipino-Chinese community. The Jesuits are doing great work here and the Novus Ordo Masses are very organized and reverent. Full-packed Sunday masses and the people love Pope Fran9cis. Praying for the Jesuits. May they remain the soldiers of Christ as St. Ignatius was, Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!
I'm a cradle Catholic, complete with Catholic education. Left the Catholic Church for 45 years then returned a few years ago. I'm here for Jesus, period. The ebb and flow of the administration has little impact on my faith. That being said, they certainly do need to return to tradition and preserve the Sacredness of the Mass.
I had thought I had discerned a vocation to the Jesuits. I visited Fordham University, a Jesuit college, to go to a meet and greet there. I was horrified by the amount of James Martin types there. I felt confused that this order was so infiltrated ( very naive on my part on my part I admit). I guess one of many red pills I got during that period of time to awaken the rot inside the church.
Thank you for reporting on this. There are still so many that are sound asleep, not paying attention to what’s going on just below the surface, especially in the Jesuit order.
I am native Spanish speaker. Would appreciate if you shared the original article even if it can't be translated by AI. We can still translate it the old fashioned way.
Let’s not forget that the Church has not done sufficient action against the clergy abuse scandal. I will not respect the hierarchy until every accusation is investigated, tried in a secular court if warranted, every bishop that covered-up is removed and assigned penance, every victim receives counseling and every church calls for prayers for the victims. Very few understand the huge effect this has had on attendance and vocations. Pray for the Church to resolve this quickly as possible.
Appreciating how mamy guest appearances Anthony has made on the very respectful, Fr. Robert McTeigue SJ's, "Catholic Current," I do not see this episode as a mere attack against the Jesuits. The conversations have been amiable and based in a shared faith in Christ.
I am a former Catholic ...I am now a Born Again Christian Praise God....That said Mitch Pacwa is ok in my book..... although he still at times preaches flawed Catholic Doctrines that are anti=biblical.......The Catholic Church now chooses to "EMBRACE THE WORLD" traveling well down the road to Apostasy
The Peronista Pope seeks power by🎉 offering two sides to every position. He’ll quote Scripture which makes it seem that hat he’s on the right side (that is , wishing to destroy God’s Will) but his actions and associates are contrary with what the s beauty, truth and goodness. Hypocrite!
Long ago, the Jesuit Order were suspended by the Catholic Church, then later allowed to return. When Francis was introduced to the world as Pope, I nearly wept as sorrowful can be. My discernment on Francis has not changed….
@lauriequinn3487 The Order was rotten before BerGOGlio came along. One thing: Jesuits' own Rule FORBADE them ever accepting the Papacy, or even a high position within the hierarchy! St. Ignatius knew it would ruin the Order. So... We now have the dreaded "Black Pope" (Black-Robe).
Good! “I am the vine, and you are the branches. If you stay joined to me, and I to you, you will produce plenty of fruit. But separated from me you won't be able to do anything. If you don't stay joined to me, you will be like a branch that has been thrown out and has dried up.
One day the Jesuits will be refounded on the charism of St Ignatius and no men of a particular persuation will be allowed, nor those 'progressive' but only faithful men with true vocations.
To paraphrase "The mill of our God seems to grind exceedingly slow, but it grinds exceedingly fine"! Every reform has to start somewhere, and the Holy Spirit never sleeps.
By the grace of God they can be saved. The first thing they should do is change the name of the order. The arrogance is astounding. With the right penances the pope could make them holy again. The next thing is the church should return mass to latin only The pope has to been seen extremely rarely to speak even less and only in latin as well. This mingling with dirty politicians is doing so much damage to Mother church.
@user-lj6yq9se3q Oooh, yes! I have heard the same, but didn't realize it was French? Yikes...I never made the connection between BerGOGlio and him also being the dreaded "black Pope" (Jesuit)! I wonder about the history of that saying? Here in North America, they did wonderful missionary works and so many were martyred by the natives. They were fearless men back then.

Amazing and strange, the Pope's supposed remarks on who not to accept as seminarians, when homosexuality among the clergy is said to have been a fairly widespread reality for some time, and the Pope has been seen as quite supportive/tolerant of things LGBTQ. Why this statement now (which would be a good idea, though)?
Before speaking to the bishops,he asked his assistant if there were any journalists in the room. He was assured that none were invited. He wanted to make sure before pronouncing his name….
There is NO good news in watching the wonderful Order of St. Ignatius fall into decline. Do we so quickly forget in the early 1600s how many of GODs children in England they brought into Holy Mother Church, under pain of torture and death? They brought comfort and courage, and the exercises to so many who were lost, always hunted. Courage most of can no longer even imagine. This is NOT good news. I recommend the book Hunted Priest, by Jesuit Father Gerard. How quickly satan infiltrated them because of how bold and courageous they were, and what did WE the laity do to protect them? We keep waiting for our Holy Mother to be a Top down church, but JESUS chose those on the bottom, to insure it was a bottom up Church. We keep waiting for management to solve our problems. Holy Mother Church IS the LAITY, and the laity have become lazy and cowardly, it is pathetic. The Jesuits brought tens of thousands to Holy Mother Church with in a decade under penalty of death, and now WE are too lazzy to learn our Holy Mother Churchs history or Catechism, and much to cowardly to even defend Her against whimpy protestants under NO real penalty. Being Martyred protecting our Faith, Holy Mother Church, and our dearest LORD and SAVIOUR is our greatest honor, and we seem only willing to whine and moan and find weird victories in our great orders demise. I am confounded. WE have a laity problem, NOT a management problem. Have NO fear. Stay Joyful. Viva CHRISTO Rey! WE are the Church Militant! Lets start acting like it.
Yes but a Church - "Kirk" is just a bunch of people. That is what the word means. The Temple is WITHIN. Jesus said "there will not be one stone left remaining" when the Apostles GAZED and ADMIRED the fine buildings and stone work...They though the "Church" was the building. The "Institution". They used the word "Church" even for silver guilds who got together, who were nothing to do with Religion. Jesus built HIS Church on "This Rock" (Peter means ROCK - Petre) Peter was the only one who knew HIS NAME. Lest us not forget though; he was also calling the "Founder of his Church" Satan get behind me the next minute as "the flesh is weak but the spirit is strong". Even for "Saints". Enough to make a Pope swear these days...let alone a Saint.
Absolutely Right. How many call out, with long heart assessment of the state of the place. He is Right to Declare these things and eloquently, not swerving around the Truth. How can he justify or know what is what when his "own" do not even tell him of any reports at all, even for prayers and he "has to hear about these things in the press" afterwards. If only more would tell the Truth in Earnest. How else can anything move forward without it first being declared? However. A House built on a Rock cannot be moved and Faith comes by Hearing. But you cannot follow two masters. You will end up loving one and hating the other. He has declared it. Valiance!
No amount of education will get you closer to God. Only a complete surrendering of will and faith will. God is in the heart - not in buildings of wood and stone.
I sincerely pray they make a come back... Brazil owns a great deal to the Jesuits... a real great deal... something one can not imagine if one does not fully understand our history.
You have a very blinkered view of the state of the Church. Lack of vocations does not affect the Jesuits exclusively, it is a widespread problem right across the Church. The Church in my country, Ireland, a country that was almost exclusively Catholic, is now a shadow of its former self. Parishes have to share priests. The Church I was raised in now has one Sunday Mass where it used to have six. The seminaries are closed and used as universities and building sites for apartment blocks. The Church has lost the battle for the minds and hearts and souls of most people here who simply use its buildings for education and the Sacraments, which by the way, are mostly a prelude to a good day out for children or marrying couples. Many do not even use it for funerals. The decline of the Church in my country is down to not only a lack of vocations, but a backlash against them for decades of oppression and for the abuse of our children.
PLA5207 One does not "poke the bear" without great necessity. Why don't YOU go poke the bear...when your very livelihood is at stake, eh? Report back to us after you have done this.
Anthony, I suggest that you translate the word which the Pope used when he said that candidates with a fixed homosexual orientation should not be accepted by the seminaries, even if they were committed to living a chaste celibate life, since, in his opinion, there was already too much “f…….” amongst the Clergy by using the word “gaiety”. It is a much more polite expression but gives the sense of what he said.
@@ReturnToTraditionThe Popesplainers are already rushing into print, trying to persuade us that the Pope has little understanding of Italian.
It’s sad that the more popular face of the Jesuits is Fr. James Martin and not Fr. Robert McTeigue.
Such a great Show! You are Blessed! ❤
Thank you so much Dear Brother Anthony! ❤️❤️
Thank you, Anthony
Last time the Pope came here he harped on how UNCHRISTIAN it was to build walls (anti Trump push)
This Pope has some real problems....He preaches heresy most times

I thought the exact same thing! Spanish literacy is pretty common in any American audience. Just put it up, dude, and someone will read it to you!

Yes.
In The Godfather, Don Corleone slaps around the crying Johnny Fontane and calls him a "Hollywood finocchio." I love that scene.
The prophecy of St. Francis among others has told of a purification of all orders of religious this is a welcome thing. 🙏➕
100% - With Interest!
Nothing could be better news! One day a future group of faithful young Catholic men will refound the Order.
Better yet, found a much better Order: the Order of the Crucifixion, perhaps?
@@fairyspunfibers9098We need new bold congregations of priests and nuns!
When the Lord frowns upon your works you do not prosper. Thanks be to God.
so very sad . . . they have fallen from such a height.
It’s such a shame that this once great order, a role model for everyone, turned its back on the Founders intentions. They will, ultimately, disappear.
This is what is said in 'Letters to Confused Catholics' written decades ago.
Appreciating how mamy guest appearances Anthony has made on the very respectful, Fr. Robert McTeigue SJ's, "Catholic Current," I do not see this episode as a mere attack against the Jesuits. The conversations have been amiable and based in a shared faith in Christ.
Isn't Father Mitch Pacwa a Jesuit ? I have never thought of him as a modernist.
Thank you God bless!
their love for the world is not accidental, they know what they're doing
The Peronista Pope seeks power by🎉 offering two sides to every position. He’ll quote Scripture which makes it seem that hat he’s on the right side (that is , wishing to destroy God’s Will) but his actions and associates are contrary with what the s beauty, truth and goodness. Hypocrite!
🙏🙏🙏 Pray that the Pope (& his minions) converts to Catholicism. 🙏🙏🙏
I will not shed a tear for the demise of the Je-soo-it order and their new church. They should have been disbanded long ago...for the third time!?
Too much is tolerated in the name of unity. The tolerance is doing way more harm than good.
That order needs to be disbanded and never ever under any circumstances or conditions be re-established under any name
Yes you are correct.
It might come to that.
Long ago, the Jesuit Order were suspended by the Catholic Church, then later allowed to return.
When Francis was introduced to the
world as Pope, I nearly wept as sorrowful can be. My discernment on Francis has not changed….
It's sad because years ago I knew some great Jebbies. They were dismayed at the destruction of their once-great order.
What an indictment of francis. First Jesuit pope and there goes the order.
@lauriequinn3487
The Order was rotten before BerGOGlio came along. One thing: Jesuits' own Rule FORBADE them ever accepting the Papacy, or even a high position within the hierarchy! St. Ignatius knew it would ruin the Order. So... We now have the dreaded "Black Pope" (Black-Robe).
Make Catholicism Catholic again! Luv it!❤
Good! “I am the vine, and you are the branches. If you stay joined to me, and I to you, you will produce plenty of fruit. But separated from me you won't be able to do anything. If you don't stay joined to me, you will be like a branch that has been thrown out and has dried up.
Well, prayer works!!!
We have an very very old said in France; " never, ever trust a jésuit...never ever a black ( ĵésuit ) pope...".

@user-lj6yq9se3q
Oooh, yes!

Considering the Jesuits were excommunicated once upon a time, they should have never been allowed back in!
🌹 Ave Maria
Reverent and / or Traditional Novus Ordo mass is a paradox.
Worth repeating: "One cannot reject God's judgement and moral demands and continue to appeal to His mercy."
Jesus built HIS Church on "This Rock" (Peter means ROCK - Petre)
Peter was the only one who knew HIS NAME.
Lest us not forget though; he was also calling the "Founder of his Church" Satan get behind me the next minute as "the flesh is weak but the spirit is strong". Even for "Saints".
Enough to make a Pope swear these days...let alone a Saint.
@acw7120
Strawman argument. A Church BUILDING wasn't even mentioned. Re-read what he wrote.
there are not enough people everywhere
I would not be a Jesuit even if that was my only chance at being a priest
I certainly hope not. All three of my children attended Jesuit Universities.
Sorry.
Oh my. Well, I'm very, very sorry to hear this. 🙏🙏🙏😢💔
Professor Weishaupt found'd his order at the University in Ingolstadt (Bavaria)
I hope so if it will return the church back to normal.
Valiance!
The Liberation Theology believes they can put Marx and Our Lord at the same level.
Let's call these difficult to discuss priests that Francis is referring to as "Fiducia supplicans" priests.
Lot shorter for sure!
No amount of education will get you closer to God. Only a complete surrendering of will and faith will. God is in the heart - not in buildings of wood and stone.
Let's ask Jesuit Jorgay what the problem with the Jesuits might be.
I sincerely pray they make a come back... Brazil owns a great deal to the Jesuits... a real great deal... something one can not imagine if one does not fully understand our history.
Perhaps it’s karma for the horrible misdeeds of the Inquisition.
Did not have the Pope dropping an F word pass on the bingo board for 2024.
That's alright, it was covered by the generic "Pope deeply insults this or that group ... again".
Are other Orders in decline also?

Use your words Anthony! Do not be intimidated by these satanic tools. Trust ou Lord will protect you.

One does not "poke the bear" without great necessity.
Sounds like you WANT him to be foolish enough to poke the bear, and get cancelled, thus losing the only way he now has to support his growing family.
You urge others to take *stupid, unnecessary, and unreasonable* risks (which God NEVER blesses!), but I bet you don't do the same.
Why don't YOU go poke the bear...when your very livelihood is at stake, eh? Report back to us after you have done this.
WE WILL become a greatly smaller church but much more holy. A Penticostal church is coming. Powerful in the gifts of the spirit.
I sincerely doubt that I could say that word either. It sounds too close to "gay." The censorship algorithm is based on audio
@@ReturnToTraditionThe Popesplainers are already rushing into print, trying to persuade us that the Pope has little understanding of Italian. Despite the fact that his parents spoke Italian, rather than Spanish, when he was a child and that the day to day language used today in the Vatican is now Italian. The Pope would have been fully aware that the word which he chose was intended as an insult to homosexuals.
