Traffic Scare and Pop-Up IFR Flight from Lake House
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2020
- We had a blast at our friends lake house in Wisconsin but it was time to get back. Jaime and I depart from Portage (C47) VFR, we got a little closer than we usually prefer with traffic (a Mooney) and then got a pop-up IFR clearance from air traffic control because the weather was worse than forecast. Hope ya'll enjoy it.

It's awesome that this guy knows exactly what he's doing with those thumbnails, and even more awesome that she doesn't care
I know nothing about aviation but have always been fascinated. Can’t stop watching these videos. Thank you.
Love starting off the weekend with a new video from 310 Pilot! Keep up the great work Kevin and Jamie! Safe flying.
The two engines inside is awesome
...looks like a lot of fun out there navigating in the water...as much as in the air...thanks again for sharing...
I just love watching two airborne grown ups interact with each other...an inspiration and aspiration for all of us navigating on the ground. :-)
That 1972 Cessna 310 (N771BC) is one BEAUTIFUL ship! You two should be very proud of her for all the work you have done!
Thank you David! We sure are. She rolled off the line late that year but is actually the first of the '73 model line. :)
I'm long retired from the cockpit but I sure enjoy being able to ride along. It's just like the good old days when I was younger. My heart will always be in the clouds. :)
Greetings. How are your these days ???
Im here for the Twin engines on that bird. Good landing there, Kevin.
Oh yeah! The ones clearly represented on the thumbnail?
Lmfao!! That's what got me interested too!
Lmfao yup twin engines alright
SEAT BELT
Those darned Mooney drivers. Fly around like they own the skies.✌️
So you're saying that Mooney dricers are like Audi, BMW and Mercedes drivers then?
Like those J.B Hunt Truckers. lol
Guilty
Y’all rock keep keeping on living the life stay safe y’all. Covington ga.
Thank you for the great flight. I always look forward to your videos. Take care and be safe.
I love this guys. I follow booth every times. I am from Brasília - Brazil. Beautiful fly.
Great flying and love following along... you guys are doing it right! Don't let the naysayers get you down or discouraged. You're doing a fine job flying just as you are. I get to see "real world" flying and not just sim or training flights. And the scenery is pretty dang nice, to boot! Kevin and Jamie, you guys rock! Thanks!
Always a pleasure to watch your videos guys. Thank you for sharing. Take care
Awesome....Glad you all had a lot of fun. Love your flying videos and also your Cessna 310. Blue skies...

My favorite channel by far. Love all your videos start to finish. Great to watch as a student pilot, thanks for putting in so much work to share these videos!
Thanks for the ride along Kevin and Jaime. Enjoy always. You are both lucky, Charlie
Love this video, northern Wisconsin is beautiful. Your channel is absolutely helping me get through all of this COVID-19 craziness. Thank you for sharing your family's flying adventures and keep them coming!!
Was there a plane in this video? All i can see is the Irish twins! Lol
Strategically placed thumbnail!!!
That is one SWEET machine now, with the new panel and sportin' new paint. Very impressive!
Interesting flight with all the traffic. SHESH!! Jamie is cute as always. Those updated avionics would be tremendous in that airplane!
Beautiful 310! Love the glass you got in there! 👍👍
Great job on the wake board, Kevin! And thanks for sharing another awesome video!
Great couple, Great plane, Great Video. Thanks
Another joyful ride along 👍
Fun and entertaining to watch.
Kevin is such a Phenomenal Pilot and Jamie's a great wing woman, who know's everything going on around her....Great vid guys....
Thanks for the awesome video. Gotta love the Avidyne geek out at the end.
Very awesome as per usual guys !!!!!
Great job getting away from that Mooney bro. Big thumbs up
Jaime...Love the shirt !!!!! One of the best places in Key West !!!
Loved the awesome video. You are a great pilot. And a nice touch on that landing. 👍👍👍❤️
Kevin, I agree...Jamie does look awesome. She looked a bit worried looking for the Mooney and seemed a bit tired. Get some rest and keep providing great content. Safe flying guys.
Excellent video guys......very enjoyable to watch. Great ILS approach.
I love the term you use for weather "Scuzzie". I have friends from the midwest a d they use that term frequently.
Safe travels on your next adventure.
Agreed, flight following is always an excellent option even when the airplane is outfitted with collision avoidance . The ski boat / pontoon boat is best of both worlds. Living in Florida for decades, I would have frozen in that Wisconsin lake . Noticed your " Killington shirt, skied those slopes many times. Love your 310 !!
Brilliant video buddy hope both of you are well.take care and happy flying. Phil.
Thank you for sharing
Great flight, thank you

Great flying, awesome video Kevin
I absolutely love your 310! What a bad ass plane! Love the channel too!
Love the job ATC does for us! Shout out to all the controllers keeping us safer in the skies! Jaime looked a little subdued or preoccupied. Here’s hoping she’s alright and life continues to bless you both!
Jamie is a BABE...! Nice video and flight too!
Very nice video. Excellent shots both at the lake and airborne. The 310 cockpit has good forward visibility --better than many a jetliner... Also loved the smooth engine noise, buzzing reassuringly in the background. Thank you and saludos from Uruguay.
Kevin, Nice job on the video. Last week I became a plane owner once again. So back to flying for me. Thank you for all time you put into these. Have a great weekend.
Just had to take the boat in for winterization. Glad to see you got to enjoy yours probably one of the last times this season. Great video as always. Keep up the good work…
I love watching all your videos especially when you do the Illinois flights it reminds me of home I miss chitown and it gives me a small piece of home
The boss flew some of the employees to a fishing trip in his plane(Dollar Ninety Eight was its name). Anyway at some point in the flight ATC calls and says expect to crash at a certain point! I was in the copilot seat and I bet the pilot really got a kick out of my expression on my face. He said don’t worry we just have another plane crossing or path. I looked for that plane for 30 minutes. Love your trips Kevin!
Kevin and Jamie, I wanted to thank you for your post and videos, my checkride is at the end of October. From watching you two, I’ve really been able to get tips on how to communicate on the radios. At first I was so intimidated, I’m now way more comfortable. Have used and love VfR flight following, wouldn’t have been so easy without learning the lingo from you two. Thanks again, you’ll never know how much you’ve helped me on my private pilot journey.
Thanks for the kind words Monte!! Glad you're enjoying the channel and it has helped make you more comfortable. Good luck on your check ride and please report back when you get it done!! Aviation is a small world. Maybe we'll see you around one day. :)
Hey hey looks like you guys are having a good time I love your videos keep up the good work
Just had this pop up in my recommended...the 310 is a good-looking airplane to begin with but that paint job, man, that's gorgeous.
Keep em coming!! Love all of the videos!!
That's a amazing flight Kevin 😎🛩️
Great video. That lake house looked awesome!
Irish Kevin’s is probably my favorite bar. Most fun I’ve ever had at a bar.
Nice job on that flight guys !!!!!!
I love your videos. A month ago I had no clue what your guys were talking about to ATC. I've been playing Microsoft Flight Sim. Now watching this video. I understand everything you are saying. Keep up the great videos.
Another entertaining episode! Great job!
Really well put together video ! Flight scenery was awesome i think it looks so cool looking forward with two propellers spin around on each side hence the twin engines. Enjoyed the lake footage too with the surf wave behind boat. Kevin your a lucky man sir! Your cutie pie wife will age like a fine wine she is one beautiful woman not too forget she is a mother wow. Keep filming and sharing i love it!
Thank you! Regards from Kingdom Of Spain
Just beginning to learn airmanship. These videos are enlightening.
Excellent plane spotting! Enjoyed the flight!
Looks like a very nice system if they do it. You two have some very good friends. Ya'll had a blast I'll bet. Ya that Mooney thing could have been bad. Your upgrades are all worth it when that happens. Stay safe and healthy. Great video. Never saw surfing like that before. Ya did good.
Great videos Kevin (great name as well!), keep up the good work. Reminds me of flying as a front seat passenger in a 310 in southern Africa in the 1980s. Of course our navigation aids were more basic back then, paper map and mark one eyeball. At times we were out of range of any navigation beacons so had to totally rely on recognising landmarks - in particular the Zambezi River. Good times...
...always good to have the latest instruments...
Tough flight . Great flying .
Love the T-Shirt, some of the greatest times i don't remember were at Irish Kevin's during Fantasy Fest lol
itscrazyal FF rocks! Went twice in the past 5 years. Wish we could go this year but too risky. Saw Psychedelic Furs there one year.
@@ChatGPT1111 it is one of those things that should be on every guys bucket list, therefore it has to be on every girls bucket list lol
I came I drank...I Don't remember !!
Yeah that thumbnail is quite the click attractor.
Love the shirt, never been there.
Way fun, great flying, wifey looked a little concerned for just a moment 👍
You did great on the wake board! Loved the video, scary watching out for that other plane/Mooney bearing down on you guys! ATC did a good job of keeping you safely out of the way but still nerve wracking i bet!
Jaimie still seemed nervous about it but i totally understand. Happy Flights and see you on patreon!
Probably Neal Boortz in that Mooney...
Wow the boating looks just like it does where I live in Bath, NC!! Awesome video!!
Another great video. thanks
Traffic event with the Mooney seems much like a simulator training event. Love the hangar, wish mine was as nice! I took notes on the ending Avidyne request....
That's a nice set of carry-ons!
You guys are too cool!always looking forward for your next flight stay safe! blu marykay Reno Nevada
Kevin you have the most beautiful copilot. Another great video and landing. Thanks
Look at the fun bags on that hose hound!
Kevin/Jamie, I really enjoy your videos. My father worked for the FAA for 37 years.... LGA, Cleveland Hopkins, DTW, HNL, then to the regional office in Des Plaines. Stay well.
Admire seeing people live enjoying their dream.
Wow finally found a pilot from my old next o' the woods. Subscribed.
extremely beautiful copilot !!!
I just came across your channel. I instructed at ARR 35 years ago. 25,000 hours later its cool to see someone flying in there. Enjoyed the video!
Great video. Just picked up a single IFD440 Last week for my Cherokee and haven’t really used it much yet but looking forward to it!!
That was really a nice touch down back home .Ehaaaaaaaaaa ! !
Love the Irish Kevin's shirt. LOVE that place .
Another cool flight , where once again I learned something. Be prepared for pop-ups and traffic. Sorry to see you weren't feeling well Jamie? You guys rock, and if you ever head east towards KSWF give me a shout.
Great video!! Thank you!!
Keep up the good work Mate very inspiring video u make God bless you guys and stay blessed always dear ❤️
310 such a beautiful aircraft!
My father got his pilots license before his drivers license. He enlisted in Army Air-corps in WWII and flew B17 bombers crew of 10 for 5 years and attained the rank of Captain by 23 years old. My grandfather flew biplanes in WWI and trained pilots at Lubbock Field in Texas. One time socked in Dad was looking for open air and came down out of clouds at 3000 over a German Battleship. Holy Moly, Plan A backed up by B, C and D.
Good job guys!
Very nice landing Kevin!
Dang that loose ground! Also a little contact cleaner in the jacks and on the plugs wouldn't hurt either.
Jaime, nice shirt! Wish you guys could come my way soon, you're overdue for Key West!
Been tuned in with you both for about a year and a half now and look forward to Fridays when you come out with the latest "310 pilot" video!
We'll be in touch. ✌
Portage Airport was one of my first solo cross country destinations when I was a student pilot.
I find these videos very entertaining. I would be up there with you had I not lost my sight in my left eye. Keep flying and entertaining. You guys are the best 😎
You two make the best videos and your C310 is the star of the show
