  • Small plants have a value. People happily give you money for small plants. Therefore the more you have available the larger your plant savings account grows.

Glad to see y’all killing it in retirement! I’m 27 in college with a pretty bad back but I love nurseries. I’m looking to start eastern red cedar from cuttings to start my nursery savings account! If ya boy can pot up 500 cedar a month I could be cashing out and buy a property of my own! So exciting! So much work and dedication for 500 a month while I’m in college but hey nothing worth doing is easy! Love the content!

Thanks Mike. And to further add to that, when my farm was on leaner times, I really relied on 4" and 1 gallon veggie starter plants. Yes, it is more seasonal, but wow is it ever an injection of cash. Great perspective on the perennials being a savings account/investment. The plants grow and only become more valuable as they get larger. Happy growing everyone!

Where does Mike buy his pots?

I'm not sure where he buys his but greenhousemegastore.com has a lot of options. They sell "Euro Pots," that have wide bottoms. Mike likes pots with wider bottoms because they don't tip over so easily.

Encourage the expansion of renewable energy projects. Making those projects more financially viable will making fossil fuels seem more expensive. All this focus on preventing fossil fuel companies from doing business without a strong focus on supporting ongoing efforts to bring renewable alternatives online is myopic and simply stupid.
