Of course James is in pain not just because of Harry, he's just been released from jail for murder (which he genuinely believed he did - which harry should know takes a massive toll on you), his abusive father is town and he just needs someone that is on his side to lean on. His mother is hardly reliable in that way, as she has proven in the past. But he shouldn't have taken that out on Harry's family for sure, they have their own pain to deal with. Harry stringing him along is what is causing this mess, Harry should realize that by now. Though Tegan going to James wasn't her smartest move, She could have gone to Sami or Simone, both would have been better options. (Apparently we won't see James/Harry next week, so how they will make up to make the rest of the autumn trailer scenes make sense, we'll have to see, though Harry needs to leave Ste for sure.)

Why are people randomly forgetting that James is a truly nasty character and always has been? We've seen how he has been abused and that has added layers to his character and made him empathetic but that doesn't change the fact that he is a villain. I for one am happy that they still portray his bitterness and his dark side - soaps have a terrible habit of explaining why a villain is the way they are and then suddenly changing their personality and attempting to erase their past misdeeds as if the tragedies they have suffered justify the crimes they have committed. James is currently the best character on the show and they shouldn't try to go down the simplistic route with him.

If what is meant to have happened here, was that James informed Dee Dee Tegan was Dee Dee`s biological mum, he could be finished as a lawyer. Not only has he revealed confidential client to attorney information, with Dee Dee`s health in mind, he could have been endangering a child`s life too.

And first seducing Harry, and then when Ste is about to marry him, or has married him, inform Ste about Harry and James many meet ups, is something a sick and twisted mind like James would consider significant payback. That he would not only hurt Ste and Harry, but also Ste`s kids and Harry and Ste`s family and friends too, is of no significance to a psychopath like James. Cause in his mind, he would have regained control and power, and proved to both Ste and Harry no one messes with James. I am afraid the only thing James feels over Harry is power. Knowing that the more he makes Harry believe he is being loved, the more control James will have over him, and the more clever and powerful James will feel when he reveals it has all been a big scam to get revenge of Ste for, in James` eyes, ruining his relationship with JP, and on Harry for having opted for Ste instead of him. By making Harry a prostitute, he no longer, in James` eyes, was worthy of James anyway - so it wouldn`t feel a loss to James he couldn`t get him. James is a snob, and a very shallow one at that. He chose JP cause JP was presentable among the professionals James considered himself to belong with. When he thought Scott was beneath him as a boyfriend, how could he then have been with a former prostitute like Harry. For someone like James that would simply not do. Even if he should have developed real feelings for Harry, while pretending to have done so, because of who James is, how his mother has brought him up and how important image is to him. A former prostitute as his boyfriend would never even have been considered. Should Ste dump Harry after James` revelation, James probably would have kept Harry on as a secret lover/kept man he expected to be there every time he wanted his "services." "Messed up in the head" is a little strong. But I too find it odd someone actually can root for James and Harry to be in a relationship with each other, with the background they have. James paying Harry for sex, only to use it to extort Harry to get his father to let James` mother take over Harry`s father`s business. How Harry could even look at James without filling up with content, is beyond me. I used to like the character, but with all the weird storyline developments there have been, he is getting tough to connect with anything real and genuine. Instead I hope Kyle will return to the person he was when had his first lunch with Darren and Nancy. That kind of charm, humor and intelligence Hollyoaks needs more of. Too much of the show is focused around negative emotions and situations. I blame reality tv. The poor acting and scripted twists and turns there make it difficult for people to separate true emotion and intentions from fake and deceptive ones. Reality tv also give a very one sided view of both characters/contenders and the issues they are involved in. In turn making the viewers feel clever when they cheer for the right one, and as a consequence are fooled into thinking they can tell what is what just like that. So when they watch soaps like Hollyoaks, they make up their mind there and then about what is right and wrong, true and false - purely based on what they see in that scene. Neither taking into account there could be more and different information still to emerge, nor if what has happened in previous scenes and storylines the character have been involved in makes the conclusion they jump to reasonable. And when Hollyoaks tends to cater their storylines to what the fans wants - most storylines and characters end up being so self-contradicting it is hard to make sense of any of it.
If we use that kind of mindset then who wants Starry together are messed up in the head too considering how much shit they've put each other through so stop being a hypocrite team Starry and if people want to feel for James over your precious Ste then let them and get over it.

Romeo needs to know more about his Grandfather Mac and somehow find a way to show Alfie what he's really like. But he shouldn't do it alone he needs help. When he loses that control, or feel his partner is starting to take up too much space, he deliberately sabotages the relationship. He belittled Scott when he started to find his own footing in their relationship, decided to prostitute Harry after barely having met him (was that because he wanted to feel to have power over him, rather than have him as an equal partner? I think the evidence support such a conclusion much more than this idea of James being in love with Harry - or Harry with him. I suspect both James believes he is manipulating Harry, and Harry that he is manipulating James - off course the only victim here is Ste and his kids, who expects Harry to form a family with them). James through Kyle out of the house when Kyle suggested they were good together. But worse of all was the revenge he served JP, after he discovered JP and Ste had spent a night together.
When someone purchases a vintage car as a gift for their lover, only to use it to scare the living daylights out of the same lover - first by driving it like a mad man with the lover as passenger, and then by pretending the lover`s ex is in the booth when the car is being pushed over a cliff. Someone who went to all that trouble, and held so much anger is not likely to let it rest until he has humiliated Ste, who was the other party to humiliate James himself, in equal amounts. And first seducing Harry, and then when Ste is about to marry him, or has married him, inform Ste about Harry and James many meet ups, is something a sick and twisted mind like James would consider significant payback. That he would not only hurt Ste and Harry, but also Ste`s kids and Harry and Ste`s family and friends too, is of no significance to a psychopath like James. Cause in his mind, he would have regained control and power, and proved to both Ste and Harry no one messes with James.
I am afraid the only thing James feels over Harry is power. Knowing that the more he makes Harry believe he is being loved, the more control James will have over him, and the more clever and powerful James will feel when he reveals it has all been a big scam to get revenge of Ste for, in James` eyes, ruining his relationship with JP, and on Harry for having opted for Ste instead of him. If you remember James made a play for Harry even before the £10 000 night. When Ste wrongly assumed James to have the hots for him, and when Harry told James to back off, James made it clear it was Harry he was interested in - not Ste.
I believe Harry opting for a homeless and unemployed ex junkie, when he could have had James instead, was more than James` ego could take. So he concocted the plan to first prostitute and then to extort Harry about it afterwards. By making Harry a prostitute, he no longer, in James` eyes, was worthy of James anyway - so it wouldn`t feel a loss to James he couldn`t get him.
James is a snob, and a very shallow one at that. He chose JP cause JP was presentable among the professionals James considered himself to belong with. When he thought Scott was beneath him as a boyfriend, how could he then have been with a former prostitute like Harry. For someone like James that would simply not do. Even if he should have developed real feelings for Harry, while pretending to have done so, because of who James is, how his mother has brought him up and how important image is to him. A former prostitute as his boyfriend would never even have been considered.
Should Ste dump Harry after James` revelation, James probably would have kept Harry on as a secret lover/kept man he expected to be there every time he wanted his "services." But a real relationship - no, I am afraid James is too much of both a snob and control freak for that to be an option. He wants someone he has power over and can control - not an equal partner with a mind and wants of his own.

Stop with the "Poor James" comments!? How can anyone defend when he did telling those kids that out of revenge because Harry doesn't love him back and loves Ste anyone who wants Harry with James are messed up in the head.
"Messed up in the head" is a little strong. But I too find it odd someone actually can root for James and Harry to be in a relationship with each other, with the background they have. James paying Harry for sex, only to use it to extort Harry to get his father to let James` mother take over Harry`s father`s business. How Harry could even look at James without filling up with content, is beyond me. I used to like the character, but with all the weird storyline developments there have been, he is getting tough to connect with anything real and genuine. Instead I hope Kyle will return to the person he was when had his first lunch with Darren and Nancy. That kind of charm, humor and intelligence Hollyoaks needs more of. Too much of the show is focused around negative emotions and situations.
I blame reality tv. The poor acting and scripted twists and turns there make it difficult for people to separate true emotion and intentions from fake and deceptive ones. Reality tv also give a very one sided view of both characters/contenders and the issues they are involved in. In turn making the viewers feel clever when they cheer for the right one, and as a consequence are fooled into thinking they can tell what is what just like that. So when they watch soaps like Hollyoaks, they make up their mind there and then about what is right and wrong, true and false - purely based on what they see in that scene. Neither taking into account there could be more and different information still to emerge, nor if what has happened in previous scenes and storylines the character have been involved in makes the conclusion they jump to reasonable.
And when Hollyoaks tends to cater their storylines to what the fans wants - most storylines and characters end up being so self-contradicting it is hard to make sense of any of it.
If we use that kind of mindset then who wants Starry together are messed up in the head too considering how much shit they've put each other through so stop being a hypocrite team Starry and if people want to feel for James over your precious Ste then let them and get over it.
