Thanks for the video. I feel much more confident about not buying one now.
Yeah, it's def underpowered.
Facts. Me too 😄
Absolutely I thought it might be something that I could use to get rid of a few lawn weeds. But I see by watching the video she’s absolutely worthless.
Excellent review thank you for doing this review I was going to go and buy one until I watched your video.
Thanks for watching, please subscribe to my channel : )
thanks for the demo. for future projects I will rent a tiller.
These electric ones are usually under powered.
I work on a farm as we have to till our fields all the time and I would most definitely recommend that you go along the edge of the fence where you plan to till and weed it so that you don't break your cultivator. The weeds can get caught up and jam the machine and they're not really made to remove weeds just to loosen soil. Hope this helps
Thanks for the suggestion. Do you think I need that weed be gone spread in if I plan on laying pebble rocks along that path with some plants spaced out?
Jay Rule
Like a pre emergent? There is preen, however, I don't have any experience with it. I've used herbicides such as snapshot and ronstar with good results. You can throw a weed barrier down but unfortunately they will grow on top of it in the rocks. You can spray weed killer between the plants but be careful to stay away from the root system of the plants. Depends on what you are planting and the interval of spacing. Some root systems are shallow and branch out horizontally. Some are deep and branch out more vertically.
gschum1 Seems like a lot of work and I hate yardwork. LOL!
Jay Rule
Yea unfortunately a rock garden isn't maintenance free :(. We have pavers around our in ground pool and the gravel that filled the joints has washed out over the years. Now its filled with dirt and other sediment and weeds come in everywhere. Luckily I can just spray ortho ground clear twice a season. However the shrubs and plants planted in the stone flower bed have to pulled manually. It's definitely a lot of work to maintain it, although its not so bad once you get it under control and weed every week.
gschum1 I need to get motivated so I can finish my backyard project video but that is not high priority as I'd rather go out and review food or the beach. LOL!
Adorable brindle-coated boxer!!!

Excellent product!
Thanks for watching
Definitely a garden to aspire to, personal I would have gone for the neglected look.
I sense some sarcasm lol
after a year or two, is this still any good?
+djchinatown I haven't used it often so the grade remains the same and I'm lazy with yardwork
+djchinatown have one had it 5 yrs. no problems at all
That's not gonna work bud. You need to get a rototiller. They are slightly expensive but they work great.
Yeah, thanks for the tip. I actually used a pickaxe and dug it up manually.
Bought it for dog spot repair for the lawn. Works great for that application but run time is poor!
What did you plant in the dog spot then?
Trying to do something it is not designed to do.
sorry
Does that oscillate or spin??
I believe it oscillates but please confirm with the video
I just confirmed with Amazon reviews: The claws oscillate back and forth. They do not spin all the way.
Watdup jah rule, i got some of this s*** , but using with 40v thewalt, torq torq++++
Oh you got the beefed up version. How do you like it?
Links not working
I think they stopped making these. Sun Joe is a good brand.
This looks like it can be used to remove dead grass on a lawn too.
agreed lol
Don’t think I’d ever buy a tiller designed like this one. It has to be bad on your arms & back not mention the no ballast helping to dig into un-tilled soil. Glad you posted this clip. BTW: hope those black spots in your yard aren’t #DogPoo? We always pickup after our dog for our health in vegetable gardening and for the dog’s too. Thanks for posting it’s really opened my eyes about hand-held tillers.
It is quite underpowered. I need to do better about picking up after my dog. BTW, Akira passed away in 2018 at the age of 11: ua-cam.com/users/akirarules
Не зря Задорнов так называл американцев. Пол-ролика коробку нам показывает, пол-ролика то, что в коробке лежит, потом целину бросился поднимать. Ты покажи нам, как оно картошку полет!
Should have waited, the new 20V Lithium Ion Battery System is even Better.
true lol
Dude, it looks like someone stole your video and re-uploaded it on UA-cam. Their channel is called 9Things Channel.
Thanks so much. I'm going to report them.
junk try the royal weeder.......that's the deal, same price, but does the job you really want.
It looks better
For starters....that is the wrong tool for what you’re trying to accomplish. Geez! You need a rototiller for grass and that hard dirt. Good lord. Don’t demo product unless you actually know what you’re doing.
ouch lowblow but ok
@@Jay_Rule Ha ha, don't sweat un-politically-correct Lisa. I had my doubts about the product on the store shelf till I saw your video. Now no more doubts and no interest to buy one. Will get a tiller instead. Appreciate the video, it served a purpose. Thanks man !
Head for the basement, dude! Black & Decker are gonna send somebody by to whack you if they ever see this video.
Thanks for watching. Please subscribe to help us reach our goal of 100K : )
use it for eggs instead 😆😅😂
lol
It's a cultivator. Not a rototiller.
hbic3 What is the difference?

LOL... That is too funny. Since you don't have large area I would of just bought a hand tiller. You can find them for $20 at walmart and it wouldn't be too strenuous if you are physically fit. By hand you can easily do just as good of a job, acutally I would bet a even better job by hand... Depends on your soil I guess but that cordless seems like it would be a nightmare with clay soil...

I've used the gas power tiller below.
powerequipment.honda.com/tillers/models/fc600
They are nice but it drains the energy right out of you, it wants to walk forward and you got to keep it in place so it tills deep. But you can till a good 1ft & 1/2 deep in a matter of seconds. It sucks when you snag a root though heh. But it was for commercial use and it's a pricey. There is a smaller tiller for around $300-$400.
gschum1 Yeah this cultivator isn't powerful enough.
Jay Rule
I bet a 36 volt wouldn't get the job done. Sometimes you need raw gas horse power :)
gschum1 True but gas is expensive and can get messy. I guess I should've just did it manually for a good workout.
After seeing this demo I absolutely will not be getting one of these, I think you expend more effort holding on to this device than if you did this manually. This product is designed for borders that are already dug and you want to stir up the soil a bit.
Ultimately this product was not thought out at all or it's being marketed incorrectly and I'm very surprised it got through R&D. For one it will chop and tear the weeds very nicely so you have a border full of them, and you still have to get on your hands and knees so total waste of money in my book.
