@@exploringbotswana I really like your videos. Its genuine and real. No frills and fuss. Thank you for sharing because I've only been to Maun once; visited Moremi, Khwai, Savuti and Chobe... longing and whishing to be able to go again someday.
@@JourneyShifter Thanks, we try keep it simple, less nonsense to deal with 😂 moremi is great, we hoping to spend some more time next year in moremi it’s just a bit more expensive, but it is worth it. Hope you get to visit again!
Mine too!, Deception is an amazing place, we were supposed to to have gone to kubu island this month, but we were still fixing the 4x4. Thanks for watching,
Great bush mechanics!! Im proud of you all! That spring job was a masterpiece .You excelled yourselves! Dont forget to include a small roll of heavy 12 guage wire and fencing pliers in your tool kit for next time.
Lion that just stole kill from 2 cheetah (still standing around confused) at Lethiahau. Liontracks and roaring, leopardtracks and cheetahtracks at piperpan (and toiletpaper). Giraffe next to a car bending down to peep in at sundaypan, met guys that had a leopard in their pasarge valley campsite and others that saw caracal at leopardpan campsite
Sounds like an amazing trip, we have had some amazing times in lethiahau, love passage just for the isolation it’s a very wild place. Hopefully our next trip to Ckgr will be pipers pan!!
Thanks i like the kalahari Piper is n must I stayed for 7 years at Tsau Hills best time of my life it was in the early 90 we use to see lots of game now we come in at matswere I don't know if the game are les or if they are more concentrate at th Ganze side Never the less I love the place
Yes tat starter motor breakdown is one of the most soul destroying experiences. Thankfully it was not an automatic gearbox!! We need to find you a new vehicle. The content you give justifies it. We will be looking.
that must have been a moment, a leopard in leopard pan, so epic. Leopard Pan was very quiet this time around. really looking forward to planing a trip to Pipers pan.
This video is quite interesting 🤔 I have watched it 3 times already, it's nice knowing that there are Overlanders here in my town of Maun , you guys should tell me when Ur going on a trip again so i join u 🙏
Such a treat for a Friday evening ! We prepared G&T and really enjoyed watching your aventures 😊 So sorry for the car issues and the drought... next time will be better ! BTW we did not notice trash during our CKGR tour except for Phokoje Pan campsite - half burnt trash and crushed beer cans in the firepit, such a lack of respect. Thanks a lot for your videos, we truly enjoy them 😊
Hey, thanks for watching, G&T is the perfect drink! It was a strange trip, what with the car issues and the drought, we just had our first rain storm last night here in Maun, such a relief.
@@exploringbotswana great news indeed ! Fingers crossed the rains do pick up this year and that the Kalahari gets the much needed water. I was in the Kgalagadi in March, it was so so desperately dry...
Good to have you back again and to meet more of the family. Always exciting to see what part of the Safari will break next and whether the wheel spanner will work its magic. Please make up and be friends again. Many happy memories of CKGR, especially Piper’s and Tau (before it became a larney lodge)
Thanks 🙏 The Safari is getting repaired and I hope it will earn my trust again. It actually did so well this year, so hopefully one all these little things are sorted, we will be good for another year. We hope to head to Khwai early November so we will see! Thanks for the support 🙂
Thanks for the video! I bet the sunrise and sets are al beautiful there 😍😍 Next trip for us should be here 😁💃🏻 Yes we all love to roast marshmallows! And also i randomly thought it was a Llama at first 😂🙆♀️
Nice classic bush style steak preparation at 26.09...Botswana exported beef is the best! The .local grade beef from Maun Supermarkets is genarally ungraded and not great. But it requires this sort of marinade and preparation. it is NOT "A" grade. But you cannot deny the flavour! my favorite Local beefsteak prep is 48 hours in lemon juice. AMAZING!!!
What a brilliant idea to involve your wife into voice-over! When I saw how long the video is I thoung I would not get to the end. But at the end I thought - I want more! You have an excellent narration, it is like a dialog, like an interview and a story. And however, you were not happy with sightings the video is captivating! Well done! Why don't you use the road from Rakops to Matswere Gate? Is it even worse? We haven't seen anything at the Leopard pan but a few times - the pride of lions at Sundy Pan (waterhole). At the Piper pan - a lion very close. But it was long time ago. There were indeed a very few sightings during your trip. Are all animals poached? It is getting worse in Botswana? Helicopter pilots from Maun told us that all rhinos were poached during the covid :-( I don't know if it is true but it is very sad. We had very good sightings in October in Savuti, Khwai and in Hwange.
We were @ D.V in January, drove up from Xade, o.m.w - not worth it. Ja, was already very dry, possibly reason for very little animal interaction. Stayed 3 nights, used our own ablution for showers and a good spade for relieving, as those park amenities are disgusting and sooo neglected !! I don't get it - park fees received are substantial, yet, NO MAINTENANCE AT ALL, let alone on roads. However, we are coming back from entering down south. Keep up the good honest stuff!!
Thanks again for another video.May I ask if the 'direct' road is that bad why do you not take the rakops route? I ask because I probably will be back there and was wondering which route to take.
So the Rakops road is the main road, it’s even worse than that back road we use, both roads have good moments and bad depending on the season. The back road that we use is normally not as bad, but one of the lodges out that side was doing a lot of renovations and so a lot of trucks had worsened the road
Oké thanks, great help. I drove from ckgr to Maun via Rakops but kept wondering, also for a next time why not take the direct route. Might just do that next time (2026). How long does it take from Matswere gate to Maun that way?
Hey bud im watching your video now. I use Epidemic Sounds for my videos. Yes its P200 somthing pula a month but its copyright free on all yor accounts that you link with it.
Desolate landscapes, great food, good company and cold drinks made it a worthwhile trip.
Heyyy everyone this is my brother Roger the artist ua-cam.com/video/BFQLrboU-sw/v-deo.htmlsi=ec5JGqjBBkyIokIm
Enjoyed having both of you in voice over, loved that top gear knowledge will forever be relevant
Have stayed at Sunday Pan 3/4 on many occasions and have always had good sitings of lion, cheetah Sept/October. And even elephants.
After long time. Looking forward. Thank you.
hey, yes its been a while, how are you both? i hope you guys are well.
Looking forward to the video!
Thank you, hope you enjoy🙂

Nice trip. I have been watching your channel for a while now. I personally think its time to get another 4x4, probably 70 or 80 series 😊
This looks like epic fun! Great job fixing the suspension :) I used to have a much worse looking Safari just like that.
Looking foward ..watching here in Botswana
Thanks 🙏 hope you enjoy 😊
