Got to see these guys yesterday in denver and they were incredible!! Finally got to see my favorite band and im glad i did since its their farewell tour. They played 2 sets which was so awesome and they played this song on their first set!
Someday when mankind has evolved and perhaps reached enlightenment, Nofx will finally be recognized as one of the, if not, the greatest band. The Decline: case closed.

At first I thought it would be a cover of Alkaline Trio's song Radio! I was waiting for the "Shakin', Like a dog shittin' razorblades" lol, but this is still awesome!
oh man, the concert in Tahoe on the 3rd of jan was gnarly/rad we destroyed security guards, tables and basic rules and general health codes at Monte blue.......
i have to admit i laffed when the "never trust a hippy" album artwork popped up. i snitched on a priest once for masturbating in front of me he thought i was blind AND a young boy. i was none of those things so i just raised hell. its hard to catch a priest.
And yes, many bands have been told by others that they aren't punk and left the community. But I wonder just how many of them left of their own accord. I bet you that some of them had always had clear-cut ideas ideas of who they were as people (ideas which the philosophy of punk was absolutely congruent with) and the punk community, believing them not to be punk, relentlessly beat the ideals out of them until they weren't sure who they were anymore. :P
@magicalwrath to be fair they kind of are, they've done loads of reggae style songs, check out best god in show or eat the meek.. although im sure you probabaly already have lol
If you're talking about their latest three albums, then I completely agree: no substance whatsoever. But from 39/Smooth to 21st Century Breakdown, Billie Joe Armstrong and the Green Day crew were always doing what they liked and, not only making very intelligent criticisms of the punk rock community from which they came from, but also wrote great songs about mortality, social archetypes, media overload and its impact on our culture, anxiety, what it means to have artistic integrity, etc.
When I first heard this version and the original version by Rancid, I initially assumed the latter was the cover! Everyone bitching that they "ruined" this song is stupid; you might prefer the original and not like this one, but it's an excellent cover in a completely different style. I mean, does anyone think Cake ruined "I Will Survive"? Surely not. Both versions are great in their own right.
So, really man, I feel like, as long as the music you're making is a sincere effort of your artistic abilities, and as best an expression of who you are as a person as you can muster, then who is to say you aren't writing music that could be considered "punk?" And if you're truly an outsider who feels misunderstood or is fed up with something about humanity, and you manage to express those feelings through your music, then you're definitely punk rock.
Punk does not mean being yourself Lmao It’s a genre. It has a certain sound. Thats like saying “if you just play music that expresses you to the best of your ability that’s true metal” like ..what lmao
@@darickfrasca2390 No, there are sub-genres of punk, which are the types of music people decide to make like Skate punk, Ska, and street punk. Now not everything that has punk and anti-authority view is punk.A lot of OLDer country and blue-grass was very anti-authority and anti-racism.Just because rap has those views also dosent make it punk, but you are not punk if you support coprarations and racism, you are a piece of sh*t.Punk has sounds, but in my oppion if your a nazi your not a punk.
william gordon sent me here. I've been a Rancid fan since I was a wee lass in middle school. NOFX... eh, not so much. Albeit, I like this version. It's not butchered. Maybe I'll listen to more NOFX...?
True, sir, but punk rock isn't just one style of music. It's a wide variety of sounds. Bands like The Clash and RKL are totally different in terms of sound and style from one another, yet they are BOTH still punk. And if you don't think Green Day's style of music is punk rock, then I advise you to listen to some Screeching Weasel, U.S. Bombs or Pinhead Gunpowder songs. If Green Day's style of music isn't punk rock, then sure sure those bands aren't either. :P
Got to see these guys yesterday in denver and they were incredible!! Finally got to see my favorite band and im glad i did since its their farewell tour. They played 2 sets which was so awesome and they played this song on their first set!
i think this is the first song i can recall hearing as a kid. had some cool parents lol

That's a weird way to spell the Clash.
It took you 9 years to come up with that?

Cool cathey de grande flyer!
Punk rock is a music genre, so the musical style is really important when it comes to determine if a band is punk rock or not
listen to it at 1.25 speed.
+TheBand 1.50
+Agustín Alvia I think its better 125
amazing
like Sublime

Uno de los mejores covers de NOFX.
Como es la original?
@@cabranegra1638, la original me gusta más.

They should release a reggae album.
they kicked ass at the house of blues in houston on jan. 22
Legend 🔥
The Music is really Rock......
Hahahaaa, I Like it...
Ska but comes from reggae and people should be ashamed they calling it pop punk or what ever.
I don’t understand why this isn’t on Spotify...
The split came out on BYO Records and BYO has removed their catalog from Spotify as they felt they were getting ripped off. Can't blame them.
Spotify sucks dead arse
this is such a great cover! changing the style of the song but making it fucking sick!
nofx IS the BEST band in the history, dude?
pff
Nah bruh... They are dope though.
As nice as they are it would be hard to say that they are the best
are you kidding me! epic dub is epic

I don't see why they would be talking shit about GREEN DAY because Fat Mike is friends with Billie Joe Armstrong
It's NOFX. They talk about everybody like South Park
here it is, here i am.. TURN IT UP FCKIN LOUD! :)
Is there this version at Spotify? I didn’t find
As of their latest three albums, you might be right, but everything from 39/Smooth to 21st Century Breakdown is definitely punk.
Just saw them on the 29th. It was awesome. I loved that they played this song and that Mike fucked up the lyrics to Creeping On Sara.
@aristocrates91 that's silly. All songs are great to toke to.
0.75 speed Version 🔥🍻
its already the slower version XD but ok

Both are freakin good!

Is it bad that I like this version better than the original?
Big Rancid fan, yet I like this version better, too
Yeah that BYO Split Series with Rancid was bada** I think NOFX killed it on that album even though I’m a way bigger Rancid fan.
i can't find this song on spotify
