- Fresh from the June 28 livestream, the Canyon finally gets their very own VRD, after having built... a few. Having no desire to slap on another tucked or cab, this one gets a Bitty Design Rock1 cab and inner bits from a Phoenix, so this VRD has a sprinkling of Phoenix in there to make it work. A VRD Phoenix, the V-nix.

I love the comment about building a rig so good you get lazy. I see it in full size rock crawlers, and often the solution is as you said, take something less built through an obstacle just to challenge yourself. We do deserve an easy mode from time to time, but as you said, three rigs seems ideal. extreme scale, extreme performance, and the middle guy is your balance point.
If you see that body, you dont expect what it does. If it works as good with a hardbody, Vanquish did THE THING with the VRD kit
7:39 My VRD kit works REALLY well on Tusks. I also tend to consider them cheap in comparison to the Prolines I'm coming from (instead of expensive compared to Injoras). I also probably won't be swapping to any comp pins any time soon 'cause, y'know, cosmetic reasons. Long live Tusks.

I like FJs but not Vanquish's take on it, and boats belong on water, not rocks, so the Bitty Design body gets the thumbs up. Man, that thing just goes. It might be interesting to see how this compares to a Zoku Phoenix, if only there was one kicking around the Canyon....
On my Carbon I rotated the spur until it was at the tightest point on the pinion then loosened the screws slightly and pushed it to the opposite side a little and tightened it back down. It made a big difference in sound/mesh.

Idk if I am alone on this but I'm getting a lot of V's in this episode. Makes me think of the speech in V for Vendetta. I'd name him 'V'. Seems fitting to me where the Canyon has a Vendetta against the VRD Stance😂 'V' the anti RTR

It has way more FLEX than you typically like, 2% less underdrive than the PRO which is more than you like, yet you're all giddy like a kid with a new girlfriend. Nice build Mr. Canyon man and I can't wait to see the two battle it out in the CANYON....literally.....put them in the "Canyons"!

I’m so glad you said that about the spur I could not get mine to be quiet. I kept thinking I didn’t know how to adjust my pinion anymore lol you would think you got it adjusted and then you rotated and it would lock up Hella tight on another spot.
Couldn't you center it better manually? Just curious.
it’s possible, just loosen the 3 screws, holding the spur on the eliminator, spin it and center it as good as possible, and tighten the 3 screws. That’s what I did to get rid of the annoying “wow wow wow” noise 😅@@rccrawlingaddict207
I centered it up as much as possible it doesn’t have too much of a noise, but it’s there
Does that body have a lil blue in the paint?
Used a small cross wrench in the center nut to center the spur, then tighten the spur bolts. Removed cross wrench and have it pretty well centered. Not as much runout as observed here in the video.
Believe it’s also meant for the fordyce Mr.C. Have you seen the piece being sold to go into vrd twin, that will give you FRONT AND REAR dig? Thinks it Ty’s Customs n Colorado. He’s a cofounder of We RC Rock. And an FYI Vanquish is releasing two more kits. VRD Carbon with straight axle and a VS4-10 builders kit! They’ll both be n Trucks of Freedom boxes too. “Rubber Side Down,” you watch Logan don’t you!?!?
well then, we need to add the portal option to the Pro, and then we can compare the same axle type on each platform
I have watched every video you have released, along with the cycling one (even though I despise cyclist) and I have come to the realization that our tastes on what looks good are wildly different 🤣 which is perfectly fine because if everyone liked the same thing the world would be boring.

@@themountain59 I don't have an issue with bikes I do have an issue with the morons in my area that choose to ride in the car lane even though they have a bike lane.
I’m really surprised that it improved in stability by adding weight up high😂 but it’s definitely driving different than a stock VRD with a comp body😊👍

I'd love to see a VRD on the H10 axles vs. a 10 pro. I think that'd be a very interesting battle.
As long as turning circle isn't a point of comparison, I guess. The H10 axle turns WIDE.

I like bittydesign bodies but for some reason they missed the mark on this body IMO. Going to be picking up a carbon kit today.

I like it mr.c doesn't look like the extra 300g. Bothered it to much at all. It obviously did everything you asked it to do. Were the inserts designed for the Tusk and are they weight specific inserts? Did you notice any hang ups on the rear bumper? Looks like it is a good amount lower then the bumper position that comes with the kit. I do understand its needed for that rear cage to clip in. Was just curious if you felt it hang at all. Also not important but wanted to point out the overdrive underdrive is 37% i know. No biggie. Just letting you know for future reference.. good job. Great vid. Peace out...

I think my comment may have been deleted because I had a link in it. However, I have a 3Dcults page under MDF-3D with a skid to bolt a VFD Twin into the VRD. I’d love to get your feedback on it! I’ve been running mine for months!

The Spider is Tamiya PS-32 Corsa Gray, while the V-Nix is Krylon ColorMAXX 5530 Peekaboo Blue.

Well..a rather underwhelming build...VRD, fusion, budget servo,Tusks and it runs good...big surprise ....yawn🥱 I really dont like the body but the color choice is ace.
